Epiphone AJ-30CE-CH

A nice solid top. great electronics and the Chorus is a real plus. The active electronics work very good although I sometimes get an odd little sound out of them. I have to unplug and plug back in and the sound goes away. Tuners work very well. Mine came with a hard shell case that is very nice.

Has a rich full sound. A little quiet unplugged, but plenty of highs mids and lows when plugged in.

I have lowered my action a lot. I get a little buzz on the 15th fret. There is a slight bump in the fretboard there. I will have it shaved off sometime when time allows. The finish is excellent. The fit and finish of the internal bracing is much better than the $2500.00 Gidsons I compared it to.

I practice with this guitar everyday. I play out 2 hours on Wednesday and 5 hours on Sunday. It is very dependable

I have been playing for 30 years. I have owned several acoustics and electrics mostly Fender and Gibson. This is one of the best acoustics I have had. I love the tone and the action. If it were stolen, I would try to find another one. The electronics give me good control and the chorus is a great adder.

This is a J45 style jumbo body cutaway 6 string guitar that comes with the EPI/6 chorus pre amp made by Shadow electronics . 6 slide controls,2 adjust knobs for depth and rate of chorus and two switches one for feedback and one for chorus on/off,also a battery light indicator. My model is in high gloss Ebony with chrome hardware,Sitka Spruce solid top and Mahogany back sides and neck and rosewood fret board with pearl dots and an abalony rectangle at the 12th, the body has white binding, front and back.The frets seem to be medium and have no buzzing even after I lowerd the neck about 4 quarter turns, When I change strings I will take one or two spacers out from the bridge. (this has a reversed bridge same as a Gibson J-45). This axe came with pretty high action. The tuners are Gotoh and seem to be 14/1's and work perfectly smooth.It seems very nice for a made in Korea Instrument.Purchased on a closeout sale at musicians Freind for a very low price as this guitar lists for $899.

This guitar Has very nice balanced tone,but its not a loud volume guitar played unpluged, but its at least adverage and should improve with time.(my $1,800. Guild wasnt loud either)
The tonal quality is definetly there and realy shines when its pluged in to an amp. I leave all the controls flat and leave the anti feedback switch on and it has a real acoustic sound that many acoustic electrics seem to lack. This has all the tones you could want,from deep Bass to shimering highs and nice warm midrange.
The EPI-6 preamp has a wide range of adjustment but I like acoustic tone from an acoustic instrument and have 8 electric Guitars for the other kinds of tone. In some ways it sounds better than my Ovation Celebrity Deluxe,with less pezio clack and more high note sustain.
Sustain is very good and the chorus on board is realy striking.
Better than my Boss chorus in the VF-1 That I use.

I mentioned the high action, Thank god this can be adjusted away!
The finish is nice and could only find one or two small flaws.
All the controls are perfect and the tuners work excelent.
The battery compartment is easy to get at but I need my reading Glasses to see what Ime doing as the they packed alot into a small space on the pre amp.

This is a very solid instrument and is built near as good as my DV-52 Guild.
The High gloss finish should last a long time. The tuners are heavy chromed and should last as well. It Has a single wood strap button on the nose, well I dont know Ive never had any trouble with these things but lets say dont drop it on its nose!
All in All I would say this is a very dependible Axe and will last.
Allways gig with back up unless your crazy.

This Aj30ce-ch Has a Limited lifetime warranty as long as you send in the document within 15 days of purchase. the Shadow Electronics has a five year warranty.
Ive never had to deal with epiphone yet so I dont know if they are good in there service.

Ive been Playing Since 1958 and Have a house full of guitars as I love them as much as the music. I have 4 from Yamaha (FG180,gc255s,aex502,aex520),2 fenders (standard Strat and Double Fat)
,guild DV52,Washburn wi-64,epi dot es-335 delux,Ovation celeb delux, dano convert pro,Ibenez Bass gr200,Fender Dg10ce,Takamine gc130.
I play through a Crate gx65,crate Vc50h, Crate gx412gxs and a univox B50, also use a boss VF-1 effects processor.
If this guitar were lost I would replace it as it has that special tone. My only wish is that it would be louder unpluged.
pluged in its one of the best ive heard.
The action was high but i knew this before purchasing and knew it would be adjustable to my taste.
Overall If you can get this unit at 50% off or better its a steal.
