made in 1998 in Korea? solid sruce top mahogany back and sides body is bound with abalone trim on body and sound hole. Epiphonic 2000 active eq. and shadow pickup, with gold plated grover tuners.

Sound : 10
i have a fender cybertwin amp and this guitar sounds horrible through it, i've been told i need a acoustic amp their a better match for the piezo pickup. unpluged is another story,it sounds amazing .this is a thin body guitar that has super tone and plays loud ,it has that grand piano low end that you can feel through your body but is responsive to your finger style not boomy but just right. i have used a dean markely pro mag with it on my cybertwin with good results.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the guitar was used and was in need of a set up plus i had new tuners put on. after that it feels great to play the thin body is easy to hold. the abalone binding and sound hole inlay are suttle and don't make it look to flashy and it's natual finished solid spruce top is a little darker than most ,looks amost like ceader

Reliability/Durability : 10
well thi guitar was bought on ebay and it's 5 years old now i replaced the tuners when i had it set up so it must have been played alot but cared for. short of bustin a string i think i could depend on it i think i'm good for a long time .

Customer Support : No Opinion

Made in Korea in 2000. Thin Line Cutaway, "TLC". Black high gloss finish. Epiphone 2000 digital active pickup. Solid spruce top, mahogany laminate back & sides.

Sound : 10
I finger pick, & I really like this guitar for it. It's actually the kind of guitar I tend to steer clear of in music stores, but I got it off eBay not realizing how thin it was. Sound is very bright with a lot of mid-range punch. So, for finger picking, notes really get out there & hang around for a while. But, here's what's nice, if you really dig in, it'll get big & bold, like an acoustic should. & that's just unplugged!
Plugged in, the sound is good. I'd prefer a Mic/Under bridge combo, but what the hey. I think the pickup is a Shadow of some sort. Digital rotary buttons for EQ instead of slides. By rotary, I mean you keep pressing them & they roll through presets. Kind of cool battery compartment too. Slide back the lid & the battery pops up! Maybe I'm easily impressed, but no digging around the little opening try'n to get it out.

I, currently, use a Crate, but want to experiment with something a little farther up the food chain.

Actually, everything was pretty good in this area. No outstanding flaws. My only negative comment would be that the internal bracing could have been sanded better. Action was good for factory, but I'm really picky so I'll probably have it done by my guitar tech.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It's not real heavy, but I like that cos heavy usually means dead or dampened sound. But it seems sturdy. & if you've ever owned a Korean guitar with a high gloss finish, you already know you'd have to attack it with a sharp instrument to make a dent. The tuners, like all Epiphones I've played seem a little weak. I'll probably replace them eventually. Only one strap button, something that seems to really bother a lot folks that review guitars on harmony central. But, maybe I'm old or something that's just the way it's always been. I just expect that for the most part & add one.

Gibson / Epiphone in Nashville always seems friendly & helpful. @ least in my experience. Occasionally, they do seem to have made so many guitars that their not sure which one is what. Haven't tried to have it repaired. But, usually I take it to someone I know & trust. If you ever find a real artist/tech, forget the warenty...pay the bucks...& be glad for it.

I've been playing for 24 years. I own a Epiphone C70CE classical, a Washburn D-46SCE, a Washburn D-46SCE-12, an Alvarez AJ60-12, a 70's lawsuit era Ventura V-200 copy of a Gibson J200 that blows 'em all away, & a 1962 Hispanna 12 string from Finland that I love. I've owned Martins, Taylors, Guilds, Loudens, Corts, & some I can't even remember. I find that, often, the off the wall stuff is as much fun to own & play as anything I paid big dollars for.

I do wish Epiphone would have put a duel pickup system in the guitar, but for the money what can you expect. I must hav fallen in love with guitar though, because I've already ordered another one in vintage sunburst. Well, I love it or I'm adicted, take your pick. I won't tell you what my wife says. She doesn't play so what does she know. She sure likes to listen though.

Lastly, I love these reviews. They're a real help when I'm buying the next guitar I probably don't need. If you've got a guitar, take the time to review it. It might help someone else. Thanks Harmony Central!
