This guitar was made in (I believe) 2001. It was made somewhere in Asia, I believe it was Taiwan. It has 22 frets (not bad at all). It has a 3 way selector, a tone knob and a volume knob. It comes with dual Epiphone humbuckers, which aren't bad at all, I suppose, for a budget guitar. I however have changed them to EMG humbuckers. It has a satin finished neck and a nice glossy body. The neck is very comfortable to play and slide around on. It gives you easy access to all 22 of it's frets. The cosmetics and appearance of this axe are also a great addition. It is an E-series, and comes with the new dovewing headstock, which is simply beautiful. It also has great looking chrome hardware. The biggest downside would be the pickups, but they make no difference because it still sounded great. Great for any beginner, and even a seasoned guitarist. The action/playability of this guitar is superior.

Sound : 9
I play anything from bluesy-rock to reggae, and this guitar has done well with all of those. It fits all of those quite well (as most Les Pauls do...)
I am currently using it with a Marshall MS-4 Microstack and a Brownsville 35G amp. It sounds equally nice on both (if there is anything wrong with the tone, it is my MS-4 amp).
It generates no unusual and un-needed background noise. It can be used for any style of music. It sends out rich, warm tones, and provides great sounding harmonics.
I enjoy the sound -very- much. This guitar is a pleasure to plug in, and I still use it, even though I have moved on to Gibson guitars.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar came very well setup. The people at Epiphone really know what they are doing. The pickups were adjusted just fine. The action is a bit high, but that is okay, it's actually my preference. Everything is matched up great. There were (and still aren't) any flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It is a very sturdy, strong guitar. It is able (although not recomended) to be dropped and withstand it perfectly. It is also very light, considering it's durability. The finish lasts just fine. Scratches from metal objects will show up in the light. (I ordered black, which is nice and glossy. It now has belt scratches ont he back from my belts). The strap buttons are solid. I can jump around, and go wild with this guitar and they stay on. Very dependable.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I have been playing guitar for only 2 years now. This was my 2nd guitar, and I do not regret buying it at all. It is definately the best budget guitar Epiphone has to offer. Besides this, I also own a Gibson Les Paul Humbucker Special, and an Epiphone Les Paul Studio. If it was stolen or lost, I would probably buy another one and configure it to what I have it at now. It plays great. The only thing I hate is that fingerprints show up on it.. But that's okay, they can easily be rubbed off (if you are a perfectionist and that is one of your peeves, just like me). I compared it to the SG and the Firebird (also in the E-series, I believe they are called the Bully and the Slasher). I wish it had a 5-way selector, rather than the 3-way, but the 3 way provides perfect settings.
