I bought my Bully out of a pawn shop for about $150. Mine is the Bruised purple and is transparaent enough to see the wood grain through it. The neck has 22 frets and is nice and fast. The chrome hardware looks really good against the purple.
The first thing i did once i got it was replace the pickups. I put in a pair of Seymour Duncan 59's and it made a HUGE difference in the tone and looks of the guitar.

Sound : 7
Once i swapped out the pickups the beast came to life. With the 59's the guitar sounds awesome on just about anything. Clean is heavy but creamy. Distorted, well it just rocks. Pinch harmonics just SCREAM and the sustain is awesome. I play a couple of tunes with my guitar teachers band on the weekends and my Bully has yet to fail. It simply kicks ass and keeps going.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Everything on the guitar as far as fit and finish was great. Much better than expected on a guitar in this price range. I bought it to be a thrash around, not worry too much about it guitar, but so help me i LOVE playing it.

Reliability/Durability : 6
I have played live maybe 4 or 5 times with this guitar and its done great every time. I have gigged without a personal backup, but always prefer to have a spare just in case a string breaks or something. but im not worried at all about my Bully breakin down on me.

Customer Support : 4
I emailed my serial number to Gibson and got very quick replys from them. The information from them wasnt correct, but they tried and were prompt about it.

Overall Rating : 6
Overall i give this a 6 WITH upgraded pickups. I have been playing on and off for about 25yrs, but only seriously for about the last 6mnths. I have a total of 5 guitars. the Bully, a Jackson DKMG Archtop,a HEAVILY modded Jackson Performer, a PRS Tremonti Single Cut, and a Rogue bass. As far as comfort, the Bully ranks right up there with the Jacksons. The neck isnt quite as fast.. but its respectable. If stolen i would definitely get another.

The Epiphone Bully SG is a fantastic guitar for rock. I find it super expressive. Don't know what year the guitar was made. I bought it used (barely) 'cause its discontinued and very hard to find. Mine is an oxblood solid-top finish which I dig very much. The Bully has two humbuckers that I think are modified from the other SG line to give you fast and precise sound. Very powerful. I'd use it on all gigs.

I've had many guitars (Squier, Kramer, Ibanez) and this is a hot ax.

I don't know the original set-up -- so I can't speak to how the factory delivers it. Mine is good. Pickups are very well matched.

I've been playing for about 5 years and bought this guitar used after hearing much about it from various rock/punk players. The neck speed is always spoken of, I like the response. It's very live.

I think this guitar's gonna become a cult favorite now that its not in production anymore. mark my words.

23 frets, amazingly fast maple neck, The finish for mine is Blood Stain, pretty kick ass color, twin humbuckers, Di cast covers over the tuners. One volume knob, One Tone Knob, Treble/Rythm switch. very nice pick ups.

Sound : 10
Sounds great, adds a lot of distortion to amps with not a lot of it. I use it on a Peavy Bandit-65 and that had like NO distortion, I hooked the Bully into it and it produced a lot more. and once you hook up a Distortion Pedal, sounds 20 times better. Rich, Clean Sound, Not clanky. play punk/heavy Metal, and this guitart suits about everything.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Everything was very well made on my Bully. No flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've played live a few times and thi Guitar does it fine, the finish is good, except it sometimes will wear off the red color, without a pick gaurd. I can depend on this Guitar, ya I'd use it without a back up. this kind of guitar may not be much money, but its one I will defenently keep.

I've been playing for 2 1/2 years. I own A Yamaha Acoustic Guitar, a Peavy Bandit-65 Amplifier, a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone Distortion Pedal, Guitar stand, etc. I'd probably buy another one if it were stolen. I really like everything about it. Well, I previously Owned A Squier Wayne's World ediion, and that was a lot more clanky, I also owned a Yamaha, and that was in no comparison to this. I wish it had a Whammy Bar.

This Guitar from the new Evolution Series of Epiphone has a dope E-Dovewing head stock and an incredibly fast maple neck. The chrome hardware that comes with it is real nice, especially on the JUST BLACK finish. It gets scratched up a little too much without a pickgaurd. The two humbuckers give it a very hard and powerful sound.

Sound : 9
it's powerful and hard sound sound suit my playing style (hard rock and punk) very well. It sounds pretty good with a distortion pedal. i haven't tried any other effects besides reverb, flange, and chorus that came with my crate amp. i have a Crate GFX-15 and no quality is lost even when its blasting out at max power. it has a full sound and it is usually heavy depending on the style.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the set-up came with a very good action. it was wasn't very high above the fret board and that is my preference. the pickups shook around a bit but they hold up well. it was properly bookmatched top and routed bridge. no flaws

Reliability/Durability : 7
its pretty durable but i havn't had it long enough to determine whether it will stand up to hard live playing. i would guess yes. the finish can get scratched up easily. the strap buttons are solid but they are a bit akward in positioned. very dependable. i wouldn't take it to a gig w/o backup not for fear of guitar failure but string failure.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
i haven't been playing to long so my gear is limited. if it were lost i would get something else just because i would want a variety and to try something new. compared to most mid-level ibanez and squier guitars, it kicks ass.
