Alright, it's a 2000 Les Paul. If you watch Mtv or VH1 you've seen one.
Sound
:10
I play a lot of different music including funk, rock, metal, and blues. This guitar ROCKS. I can get any sound out of it. I play it through a crybaby>compressor>ibanez Smash Box>Boss EQ>Boss Chorus>Boss Delay>into my marshall. I had a friend listening the other day, and the first thing he said was, "great tone." This guitar sounds every bit as good as a gibson to me.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
When I bought it, the action sucked. Twist the screws under the tune-o-matic, problem solved. I don't even need to pick to get a good sound out of the strings. The action is incredible. The finish is beautiful. It looks and feels great.

Like everyone else, I will agree, needs new machine heads. Just take it to the guitar store and tell them you want to put some sperzel locking tuners in their. They'll widen the peg holes, and put'em in, maybe a hundred bucks on the high side, and now it's better than a gibson. Other than that, this guitar is reliable. Had a switching problem when I got it, but just clean the pots with a contact cleaner(I use De-ox-id) don't use radio shack shit. maybe rewire the pot so the connections are good. other than that, this guitar is a rock.

You want a gibson for five hundred bucks. Buy an epi. small mods, mine came to a total of a hundred bucks, now I have a 580$ les paul that's every bit as good as a gibson, for about a third of the price of a Gibson Les Paul standard. I walked into the guitar store, sat down, played my epi, played a gibson standard, and I walked out with the epi on playability and tone alone. When I adjusted the action, this became my dream guitar. It plays great, feels great, and looks great. I love it. It's my favorite guitar, and I've owned a gibson sg, I have an american lone star strat, I had an Ibanez v from like 85, this is my favorite guitar. Go figure, it's an epi.

Normal Epiphone Les Paul. I bought it used and it came with DiMarzio Pickups (Superdistortion/PAF). It has a Push/Push Poti for the bridge humbucker. Sundburst Finish. I don't think there is much need for more specs
Sound
:8
I think this guitar can suit about any style, especially the Superdistortion Humbucker which can be turned to a singlecoil offers a wide Variety of Sounds. I play it through a Fender Bronco and you can get some realy awsome sounds out of this combination. On the other Hand I played a PRS guitar through that amp and itr sounded even better, so I'll only give it an 8 here. But if you're on budget the Epiphone with the Dimarzio Superdistortion and PAF are really great. And the amazing clean channel of the Fender makes you sound even more versatile.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:5
It was horribly in tune. The Push/Push Poti wasn't working. But beside that, everything was great. It didn't have any scratches or anything.
Reliability/Durability
:8
It is built quite solid, although the strap locks are shit and a crash to the ground won't be very good. I'm not shure how long the hardware will last, it does look kind of cheap. I'll have to wait and see.

I replaced my Squire Strat through this guitar. It's just a complete new level. Sure, I'd rather have a Gary Moore Les Paul, but I stillgoto school and this guitar is just right for me. Awesome Sounds, nice looking. Great Guitar.

No clue when it was made, but I know it was made in Korea because of that sticker on the back of the headstock. 23 frets, it seems. Two tone, two volume knobs. H/H pickups. Flamed top finish, very nice. Standard LP body. Appears to be a Tune-O-Matic bridge, I don't know. Non-locking green plastic tuners. Rosewood fingerboard.
Sound
:8
Great clean tones, great with distortion. Bridge pickup is a bit cheap sounding, both pickups put together a nice sound, although I prefer the neck pickup only. I use it with an Ampeg J12 amplifier and two DOD pedals with a Zoom GFX707 on the side for detuning. I use Gibson Vintage Reissue strings, so it gives a very mellow sound. The bridge pickup seems to turn off at times for no reason at all, even when on the bridge setting. Odd.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:4
Seems fine. Neck pickup is loose, bridge pickup dies sometimes.

I've gigged with it once, seemed to be fine. Strap buttons are awful nice coming from those retarded inverted Epiphone cheap-o ones. Sure, I'd depend on it.

I guess it's fine, only my second guitar. I do a lot of original music, some alternate tunings. Mostly rock stuff, plenty clean, plenty distortion. Works fine for everything. Detunes nicely, for the most part. My old guitar was TERRIBLE, so this is a big improvement.

This is a 2000 Epiphone Les Paul, made in Korea. 22 frets, beautiful red maple flametop, standard volume, tone, and pickup controls. I have the stock pickups with gold hardware, really cool looking. The only complaint I would have against the build of this guitar would be the tuners, they're not bad, but could be much better. Nothing that you would normally notice. I also got a nice epiphone hardshell case with it, the case is great.
Sound
:9
The only complaint I have against it is that the neck pickup is kind of muddy sounding, but its really not a problem. The bridge pickup sounds great, it really wails, and i'm going to be replacing the stock neck pickup with a Gibson '57 pretty soon. I play mostly classic rock, hard rock, stuff like that, and it handles anything i can throw at it like a dream. I run it through a crate GFX-212, sounds like slash when you crank it, incredible sound. Sounds as good or better than most Gibson 'Pauls. Great for leads or rythym, excellent sounding guitar. (Would be a 10 with a better neck pickup)

When i received the guitar in the mail (got it through ebay), i needed some minor work done on the bridge and stopbar. The bridge was set too high and the stopbar was too low. But it took all of 5 minutes to fix and re-tune, now it's perfect. It arrived ready to go other than that, all tuned and everything, no cosmetic flaws at all, beatiful finish and hardware. This guitar plays itself. After the bridge was fixed, this guitar is a ten.
Reliability/Durability

I havnt had it very long, but its built like a tank, not too heavy, but heavy enough to know that nothing's gonna break it. The case seems durable, and you could use this guitar as a baseball bat and not hurt it. I heard that the gold hardware will eventually rub off, but thats nothing serious, just makes you look like you have more experience. The strap buttons hold great, no locking strap needed. I would probably gig without a backup, but i'm afraid about breaking strings so I always do. I usually will replace strings before I break them though on this guitar, not like a strat that breaks a string after about an hour. You can wail for hours without breaking one. Great, durable guitar.

I've been playing for a few years, and this is probably the greatest guitar I have ever had the pleasure of touching. I own an old squire strat and it blows that hunk of shit out of the water. I play it through my crate gfx-212, sounds great. I dont use any pedals, the amp has kick ass effects built into it. If someone stole this guitar I would hunt them down and shove a strat up their ass. I would definately get another one. People see this guitar and just say "wow". Its just a beautiful, great sounding guitar. I tried tele's, strats, gibson les pauls, and this was among the best, as good as the gibsons. The only complaint would be that muddy pickup and the tuners, but those are minor details that can be replaced if they're an absolute problem. Great, great guitar, i highly recommend it to anyone.

It was made in korea in 2000. Stock pick ups, 2 volume 2 tone knobs. 2 stock humbuckers. Solid mahogany neck and body. Maple FlameTop finish. Beautiful. Epiphone tuners(could use replacing), medium jumbo frets. 22 frets creme pickgaurd and binding, abalone trapezoid inlays and rosewood fretboard.

Very awesome and PHAT! I myself owned a strat untill one day I layed my hands on an epiphone les paul. I knew then ,this is the guitar for me. Compared to the strat, this guitar rules. Very long sustain, good treble highs and great thick warm tones for searing leads. This guitar is really great for rock, blues, punk, and even a little country, if your into it. This guitar I think can suit anybodys style. What really impressed me is this, the guitar sounds identical to the more expensive gibson les pauls, at half the price! Its a great guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Very nicely set up. A few minor flaws but nothing to get bent about. I noticed an un-painted area about the size of a needle, but other than that, perfect condition. Great setup so far.Finish is great, one of the reasons that attracted me to it so much, was the beautiful flame maple top finish. It looks great.

This guitar was meant for playing in front of a crowd. It can handle its own ground easily. I've used it before with no problems at all. Besides the fact that after two hours of playing my back is killing me. This guitar has got weight, but you can handle it if you have a good strap. Totally reliable. I'd gig with it without a back up but just in case you should always be prepared for the unexpected.

I've been playing for 5 years now and I'd say this is the best and my most loved guitar that I've owned(I used to own a strat, which comes second to the les paul, but nothing can beat that les paul tone). I can say that this guitar will last me a long long time. The only thing I can say is somewhat lacking in the Les Paul Standard is the cheap epiphone tuners, they could use replacing. But other than that, this guitar was born to rock. YEE HAW!! I love me les paul, and if it was stolen, I'd find the person and shove it up their ass, then make em buy me a new one. Overall, if you want proffesional sound for half the price of its gibson cousin, go for epiphone les paul standard anyday.

the guitar is a 1999 epiphone les paul standard honeyburst flametop. It has the most awesome flame on top, not tiger striped, but those fat flames, damn! just got it few days ago. Description...Les Paul

It suits my music perfectly. Paying and listening to music like led zep, hendrix, lynyrd. Has nice zeppelin sound rather than hendrix(strat)..nice fat tone, nevertheless still sounds good with hendrix songs. But treble and rhythm selections are great. I guess the alnico pickups, which are upgrades from the previous buckers i suppose are a lot better than the previous. Read about people complaining about the older model pickups, but nothing wrong with these. lil fretbuzz low E
Action, Fit, & Finish

The setup is pretty good. The pickups seem a lil sloppily put in, lil loose. The grets are in good, neck is smooth, maybe the tuners need replacement. The G string does come out of tune often. The finish is really awesome. The top is gorgeous, with nice fades into the outside portions of the top. Not those cheasy ones where you can see the line of red to orange. Fat flames

i've been playing for a lil over a year, but i believe myself to be a reliable source. Before i owned a strat copy(anybody ever hear of rokker?) probably not. If somebody stole this, i'd have find them and eat them. I would buy it again definitely if it were stolen. I love the feel, the sound, the looks. I don't really like the fret buzz obviously, but i think i can fix it. For its money, i think it's a hell of a guitar.

1999, I believe Korea. All perfectly normal the way you all know it. Mahagony with rosewood fretboard, medium jumbo frets, binding. Setup was O.K. for me (coincidence?). Didn't like the tuners (too wacky), but that's a minor investment.
Sound
:10
Very sweet. It sounds better to my ears than many "real" Les Pauls. Volume and tone adjustment allows for a huge spectrum of different sounds. The unplugged sound is beautiful and woody, so any decent pickups can bring it to your ears (the stock pickups were really nice, I have a couple of Gibson Les Paul hums at home but I don't think of replacing the stock ones). Whatever you play, you'll find the right sound.

Very low action. Raised the strings a bit (I prefer them not too low, better for extensive banding). Prperly bookmatched and routed. No flaws. Except for not-so-perfect tuners, absolutely flawless.

This is my guitar of choice now. It will last forever, it's a tank. No need for strap locks here, the buttons are pretty big. The strings don't rip at the nut or bridge, very smooth contact surfaces.

I've been playing for 16 years and also repair guitars. I own two nice Strats, I had a beautiful Carvin DC125C, an Eco double-cutaway Les Paul-like and an Eco 12-string acoustic. This guitar sounds better than all of them together. I always thought Epiphone brand would be a cheap kinda crap and never have tried one before. If I had, I could have saved a few thousand bucks...
Coupled with my Carvin VT50 amp and Korg AX1000G, this guitar does everything I want it to do. I fell in love with it immediately.
Mondo bang for buck, too.

It's a 1999, with all the usual stock features. The flame top is especially nice. It came with a beautiful hardshell case too. I was lucky enough to pick it up (used about 3 months) at a guitar show from a dealer, for 300 bucks. I was ready to have a midlife crisis and spend up to 1400 for a gibson paul, and I must have played 30 of them that day through various amps. They varied so much in sound and feel. I only fell in love with one, a gold top (80's, 90's?) that I played through a Fender. It played itself. But...then I saw the epi for 300, and it really came close. I have played a bunch of epi pauls since then, and none compare to this one in terms of action, feel, etc - you know, when your hands just start playing on their own. I guess my midlife crisis will have to wait a while, since the Gibson just didn't sound 900 dollars better.
Sound
:9
I play mostly classic rock and blues, some jazz. Lots of grateful dead influence. This guitar sounds great, more due to it's feel than the pick-ups, though. The neck pick-up isn't bad, with a nice round and full (though not quite lush) sound. I am playing through an old (1969) Peavey Vulcan (135 watt) Head and a cabinet with a 15 and a tweater. The bridge pick-up? Sucks, flat and lifeless and looking to be replaced. I am probably going to go for the Seth Lovers, but I have,t heard nearly enough pickups to know. I never play this guitar with just the bridge p/up for now.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
Set up was excellent, though I don't know whether it was from the factory. The strings buzz ever so slightly, but this does not seem to come through the amp. Te action is VERY light, and I might raise it and or put medium strings on. Flame top is especially nice compared even to other pauls, gibson and epi. Only flaws are in glue around the edges of the inlays on fretboard, and some dirty pots from non-use. The pots cleared up on their own.
Reliability/Durability

This is a solid, well built guitar. Time will tell. After reading other posts, I will probably get around to getting locking strap buttons, but no problems yet.

I've dealt with epiphone for my other guitar. The problem was with the stupid steinberger tremolo that broke. It was not under epiphone's warranty, but they did manage to recommend a source for parts. They responded to e-mail within a day or two.

I've been playing for about 27 years (I'm 38). I have a 1980 epi something - (600?), an aria pro bass (very so so), a yamaha acoustic electric and some non names around. I play through a 1969 Peavey Vulcan Head that I keep where I jam, so I use a little 25 watt fender reverb practice amp at home. DOD effects processor. I do love this guitar, we are just developing a relationship. The bridge pick up MUST go, and the neck - so far so good, but we'll see. Once I read so many posts on the4 Gibson les paul that revealed that people were replacing the stocks on those too, I felt great about not having paid enormously for the gibson.
