my guitar was made in korea in '98, i found out by the serial number. basically it is a les paul classic model with some "slash features". it has trapezoid inlays on the neck, its 22 frets with a fix bridge and 2 humbuckers with 2 pots for each pick up controlling volume&tone. one mistake you may make is that you may expect seymour duncan alnico pro pickups which slash uses on his guitars. however, this is fitted with gibson pickups. it looks very beautiful with its red finish and slash's snake&bone logo =)

Sound : 7
i have had this guitar for about 2 years not and this guitar is great if you want to play hard rock. since its a slash model, you'd expect to play GNR stuff with this guitar and it works well for this purpose. best results for such sounds would be using this guitar with a marshall amp. i had a small, 30W marshall amp and i had this guitar with .11 ernie ball super slinky strings. the result was great, if you want a tone with rich, high mid end and a singing sustain; meaning a tone like the one on november rain, its here in this combination. also, it gets close to the john sykes tone of the 1987 whitesnake album, depending on your amp. you would like this guitar if you like the bluesy, full of bass lead tone. however, on clean tones, i would not recommend this guitar much. its not that good for clean chord works, or playing funky stuff. if you're into those, go look for a strat or something similar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
its a well made guitar, i haven't found any flaws about the production. i have a '78 gibson les paul deluxe and i have played a epiphone les paul custom the other day. this one is not as heavy as they are but that does not mean that it lacks quality. you get the necessary les paul characteristics with this guitar. however, i bought this guitar 2 years ago and i am the second owner of it, and there are some rusting on the pickups. other than that, there's no problem.

Reliability/Durability : 8
its dependable, at least it hasn't led me down yet. i used it on gigs as well, and the result was good. however, this wasn't my only guitar, i also use a custom strat of mine also. therefore, depending on what you're playing, you can rely on this axe.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with it.

Overall Rating : 8
this was my second guitar, the previous one was a cort copy of les paul studio. of course after it, this epi les paul was like heaven for me. later on i bought a strat and customized it and bought a '78 les paul deluxe. as expected, i am not using this on stage now; i use the '78 LP and the strat. i believe, it works perfect if you're a beginner. so that you get a good guitar for its value and you get a guitar that's somehow unique; it cannot be found everywhere nowadays. this is important i believe because it motivates you to play and learn more. at least this worked for me. so recommended for those who want to play bluesy hard rock or who are beginners and looking for something special rather than the boring squier beginner sets.

My Guitar Ser Number is 198050097. I believe it was made in 1997. I had to get it professionally set up,or tuned up and adjusted. It was way off coming out of the box. It plays very well if you play allong with and copy Slash solos. I have a Tube Driver Amp by Tube Works. They do majic together. It plays and sounds best with 10 Gauge strings. The 3 way toggle switch assembly burned out on me after a year. The bridge at the head was replaced during the first setup, because the factory original was not well mounted. The guitar seems cheap if you look at the cream colored seam that goes arround the body but that is getting picky.

Sound : 9
This guitar shines for making heavy rich tones with a basy feel. It is the guitar you want to have if you play Sweet Child o mine or the solos for Estranged. If you want to know what this guitar sounds like then listen to the solos in these songs. They are both by Guns N Roses. Not a good guitar if you are looking to have that perfectly blended bar chord or power chord fuzz sound. Each string is pronounsed. I dont recomend it as a rithym guitar unless you mess around with your settings for 20 minutes. I use a Tone Works guitar Synthesizer. I recomend it too but it is very Fragile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
The all black Hardware on the guitar looks as good as the day I bought it. one of the Trapezoid inlays on the neck has what I would describe as a fisheye flaw like yu would see in a cars paint job. after only 3 years My frets from the 16th to the 22nd are wearing down to a point that the guitar dosent sound as good anymore I am thinking of trading it for something new. The Input assembly was not installed correctly at the factory and had to be reset into place .It was all loose when I got it

Reliability/Durability : 7
I fear breaking it as it is not a bolt in neck. Ill be honest ,my friends dog knoked it off its stand and it fell face down on the carpeted ground. The toggle switch broke off but everything else was OK. I think its tougher than it looks. Ive played it live and all I get is compliments it looks like and is mistaken for a real Gibson and people think I paid $2500 Canadian for it. The clear coat on it is wonderful no belt buckle scratches so far. A very durable beuliful glossy finish. The snakepit logo on the guitar is a detailed computer generated picture on clear plastic film. There is no way to remove it because it is well protected underneath the clear coat. I would use this guitar live without a backup.

I never dealed with the company. It would have been nice to get a certificate of authenticity , or a personal quick thanks for buying note from Slash in every box.

Overall Rating : 8
When I played it at the store I compared it to a Las Paul gold top standard. They both sounded the same to me. Its so hard to tell if a guitar is good when you play on a different Amp at the store. I have owned 12 guitars mostly pawn shop electrics that have a year or so left on them. I sold 3 guitars to buy this one. I recomend the BC Rich MokingBird and the BC Rich Iron Bird.

made in 1998 Korea. 22 frets, 2 tone and 2 volume knobs. 3 way selector. Mahogany body, standard epi open-coil pickups, H/H config. tune-o-matic bridge, non locking tuners, black hardware. nd of course the Slash logo =) .

Sound : 7
has a nice bluesy sound. good for many styles of music especially blues and rock. i play it thru a marshall mg15ms and it sounds great. i also use a dunlop wah pedal which adds more beauty to the sound of the guitar...but i gotta say that the pickups arent that great. i changed them to seymour duncan aph-1s and it sounds much better because the tones are better....

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
the action was pretty good....low and no buzzing....better than what i expected from an Epi guitar...however, there is one slight flaw. the 3 way selector gets screwed up after like 5 months....somehow i think it happens to all the Slash les paul models because 2 of my other friends have it and they have the same problem...but its not a big deal.....still worth it for its price...
another problem i found was that the input jack is poorly made because the screw inside snapped after a few months.....happens to all the Slash les pauls...i wonder why....

Reliability/Durability : 8
this guitar would certainly withstand live playing, but i would suggest u bring a backup because shit happens and strings could snap...so beware!!
its a strong guitar....dropped it once and still in good condition......strap buttons are ok, changed to strap locks..as i said...shit happens and u may never know when ur strap is accidentally twisted and slips off the strap buttons......

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them....usually just send it to my friend's shop when something happends to it....

Overall Rating : 9
i've only been play for a short 3 years....still trying to get my act together...practice more....but getting lazy.....i also have an Ibanez rg350dx and a kramer acrylic striker...but i love the les paul the best.....trust me..u will too.....
but if this guitar got stolen, i would most likely torture the guy who stle it and ask him to buy or pay me for a new one.....basically i love everything about it except the faulty parts mentioned above and the pickups.....

Well, its a Les Paul. So you can expect the features to be tried and tested. Slash signature model.Made in 1997 in Korea.22 frets.Trapezoid inlays.Slimmer taper neck. 3-way selector.2 volume and 2 tone controls. Open coil pickups. Mahogony body.Tune-o-matic bridge. Black hardware. Non-locking tuners.

Sound : 8
I play more of blues and rock. The open coil humbuckers are heavier compared to other Epi Les Pauls. The neck pickup produces more of a bluesy sort of tone with less chunk. When power chords are played, I usually use this pickup cos it is cleaner, making the chords bite and easier to stand out. The bridge pickup is heavier on the lower frequencies and produces sort of a wailing sound. Well, at this price, I would certainly think that this Epi is worth it. To plat a clean tone, I usually use both pickups to give me a more balanced tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The flamed maple top is well made. THe action is on the low side. The tuners are not at all reliable and the technician had to fix the 3-way selector before I could try it cos its faulty.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I think this axe is quite durable. But you'll definitely have to change the tuners if you get the money. The finish looks like it'll stay on for years. Besides the tuners, the hardwares are okay. The input jack is fragile cos mine brokedown (the inside screw snapped!).

Customer Support : No Opinion
No warranty.Never delt with them.

Overall Rating : 8
Despite all the minor problems here and there, I would say that this guitar is a good deal.

I think this guitar is a '97. It is Korean. 22 frets. 2 humbuckers. 3 way switch. Flame top wine red finish. Stock tuners. I really dont know about the laminate, exept that the body is said to be mahogany and its a flame maple top. I dont know how many peices. Mahogany neck w/ rosewood fretboard.Single cutaway. Basic les paul layout.

Sound : 7
I use this guitar through a crate GX 210 and in the distorted channel, it sounds very good. HOwever, in the clean- Suck ass city! The pickups on this guitar are very muddy with no low end punch or quality of any sort. I am totaly into blues/ blues rock. Basicaly Led Zeppelin and Guns and roses. For distortion, this guitar is pretty solid, but dont try clean. Also the pickups tend to feed back. I am getting new pickups ( Gibsons, so maybe that will help things?)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Whoever set this baby up at the store needs to be shot. HIgh action with terrible fret buzz. Good finish. Even though there is a buzz its very un noticable when plugged in.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar feels very solid and sturdy. Hardware is ok. Good strap buttons, tuners seem poor, but stay in tune very well, bridge was not stained well, The black is already wearing off. finish is very nice, looks very long lasting. Overall, its a workhorse

Overall Rating : 8
Victor Litz Has awesome price, unbeatable, but whoever sold me this guitar needs to be shot. They sold me one with horrible buzzing that is uncurable. I would buy this again, however, I would send it back if I found these things wrong. Guitar potential Score 10 Store where bought 5 Actual score 8
