I have a 2003 Farnell EXP-C Ultra lite guitar.
Bolt on neck with 22 frets
Wiring and config very similar to a Les Paul.
The pickups are Chinese version of passive EMGs.
Bridge are tune a matic style
and over all the guitar is model very much after a Les Paul. the headstock is like a Warwick and the body shape is unique.

The sound is what the forte on Farnell guitars!
The body material is a mahagony reservior chamber with polyfoam body wrap. this design was patented long before other copycats using foam body technology.
Foam property are better to resonate at a lower volume which is perfect for home & studio recording use. wood is heavy and grain pattern dictates the travel of the energy produced by the string vibrations.
Foam will vibrate in a circular fashion which then feeds to the center mahagony chamber. the passive pickups will compliment both the strings' vibration from the top ( typical pickup area) and from the bottom of the pickup. The pick up do not need to be overpowering to get a warm wood effect. This is incredible feature for tone!

Set up is ok, I set my own guitar due to my personal preference.
Al Farnell, the designer of this guitar line is an excellent guitar tech in his own right. He'll set you guitar up if you contact him via website when you make a purchase.
Finish is typical poly with some bookmatch veneers.
The overall guitar is designed for tone not cosmetic spectical.

I have played live with my Farnell and was very pleased.
Weighing only 6 lbs, I could go all night and not feel it the nextday.
With my amp & effect set up gearing more towards the modeling technology, this guitar is the perfect compliment for my tone choices.
I also like that Farnells are affordable so I now can retire my Gibsons and Jackson.
I do have a second Farnell as a backup, never had to use it.

I have been a pro guitarist for over 25 years and when I found Farnell guitar by accident I couldn't believe what I found.
If you are a guitar player that records, you should have one in you collection...period.
