Feline Guitars Preacher PRS Style

The Preacher is a PRS style custom build built by Feline guitars. It has a reverse Head stock. It`s 25` scale length. 2 H/B 1 x volume 2 x tones. A 3 way selector switch. Wilkinson Trem, Graphite nut, Sperzal Machine heads. 24 fret neck. Mahogany body, Maple Cap, Mahogany neck with Rosewood finger board. Price included a Hiscox Hard Case.

When i ordered the guitar i asked for a set of Bare Knuckle "Cold Sweat" P/U`s. The Mahogany body has had Chambers cut out of it. This was primary for weight issues but it has helped bring out a lovely full tone to the guitar. I asked for the guitar to have the bulk of a Gibbo LP so that i could get a faller sound out of it. I have since changed the P/U`s to a set of BK "Mules". The guitar is now versatile enough to play any kind of music.

The action was set espiecially for me by Johnathon at Feline. The Fret job is simply the best i`ve come across. When i talked to Johnathon about the guitar I explained that i wanted access to the upper end of the fret board but my fingers are not particully long & thin. Johnathon brilliantly suggested that he would use the same fret wire height wise but would use a slightly less narrow wire beyond the 15 fret. Dunlop 6100/6105 i can`t remeber of hand which way round it is !! The Top is a lovely Flame book matched cepia burst.

I`ve allready used the guitar live several times & it`s simply a joy to play. It`s been the only guitar i`ve taken to a gig & i`ve had no problems at all with it.

Johnathon is simpley wonderfull to deal with. I had no problems getting in contact & he was always willing to talk about guitars. I was welcome to go see him at his shop in Croydon anytime i wanted, i just had to phone him up & make the arrangments no probs. Remember he is a custom builder repairer his business depends on his attitude & his abilitys/reputation. Besides all that he is actually a nice guy any way 10/ out of 10 no probs.

I 1st meet Johnathon at the guitar show London 2004 & saw the quality of his work. But like most guitarists i talked myself out of plumping for a custom build. I meet him again the following year 2005 again at LGS, this time i didn`t talk myself out of it i decided to plump for it & i`m glad i did. This guitar is simply the best i`ve played squally as good as any PRS or Tom Anderson i`ve played. The neck has a wonderfull played in feel to it, which has ment it`s been easy to adjust to. When i went to order the guitar from him i took down one of my guitars that i had things about it i liked & Johnathon took measurements of the frets, Neck width etc & copied them for the Custom build. The fret finish is every bit as good as any Tom Anderson i`ve played & that really is saying something as i rate TA`s fret jobs & finish`s to be the best around. I asked for a particular colour for the finish of the guitar & this wasn`t a problem at all. I also asked for the back of the body to be left uncoloured & no binding on either the body or neck again this was no problem. The sides of the guitar were also left uncoloured so that the vanish just shows the natural colour of the Msahogany & Maple creating whats become known as "Natural Binding" i play a full range of music from 50`s 60`s 70`s 80`s including Heavy rock/Metal & this guitar loaded with the always Excellent BK`s [ The Mules ]can handle the lot no sweat !! I even record little instrumentals & this guitar sounds Fantastic. Every one that i no who plays loves it & i`ve already turned down 2 offers for it !!
