Fender Squier Tele Custom II P90 - agathis body, two Duncan Designed Soapbar single coil pick-ups with independent volume and tone controls, maple fingerboard, 22x medium jumbo frets. Colour: Black. First thing i must say ... i love telecasters, i love the robust shapes, i love the sounds. This one i bought cos its realy looks cool and cos it has single coil soapbar pickups. I never have that kind guitar before. Guitar is realy well build, u might have to tighten some parts, do the usual setings. Components are nothing special or spectacular ... just what u need. The neck is slimer then on my vintage tele and all in all is a lighter guitar.

well it sounds great. Its shurly not as bright as standard tele setings and its not so rich as les paul. But its very versitale guitar. Its a superb rythm guitar for all kinds of music blues, reggae, rock ...I play it plug in through Ibanez MIMIX 65 and with a right settings u can do just about anything from zz top to santana.

As i say u might need to tighten some parts in my case it was a loose jack. Other than that no flaws, mybe ill change the tuners in the future. Action after i do the settings on the neck and on pickups is low and no buzzing so its realy comfortable to play.

Its a telecaster ... its kind a robust ... its made for live playing. Hardwere is ok nothing special. As i say tuners and jack may need replacing other than that its a fine guitar. For that kind of money u can hardly do better.

Fender Tele, 2007 or so, made in Indonesia, 22 medium frets on a maple neck with a maple fretboard, solid agathis, with 2 Duncan-designed P90s, 3-way selector switch on the upper horn, 2 volume and 2 tone controls, string through the body, no-name tuners. A very basic guitar with not too many features, which is actually a plus. This is your basic no-frills blues and rock guitar. You don't need too many features.

It is a Tele in name only, but sounds nothing like a Tele due to its pickup configuration. If you are looking for a Tele-sounding guitar, this is not for you. However, if you are open-minded, this is an unbelievable tone machine with its own voice like no other guitar. Being single coils, the P90s hum a bit, but barely noticeable unless you are in a high-interference location.
You can make the P90s sound bright or mellow or anything in between. Just play with the controls. It drives a tube amp very well. Play it through a decent distortion pedal, add a bit of reverb, and you are on your way to some of the most lovely guitar tones outside of your typical Gibson or Fender range. To me, this a refreshing break from the Gibson-or-Fender debate. It has its own voice.
You don't need to change the pickups. Leave them alone. Work on your playing and your tone instead.

The nut is a plastic piece of crap, but I didn't change it. Just filed down the string slots a bit for lower action. The nut serves its function well, but it is still a plastic piece of crap. There is no whammy, so you won't go out of tune due to the nut. Again, leave it alone and concentrate on your playing.
The fit and finish are first rate. The blonde finish that I chose was sprayed on pretty thick. All the hardware and controls were assembled very competently. The pots don't emit scratching noises, the selector switch feels solid. The input jack cup will never fall apart if you tighten that nut. That's why the nut is there, to hold that cup in place. Tighten it. Insert and pull out your guitar cord out like a civilized person, and that input jack cup will last you forever.
The frets did not have any rough edges, and once set up I could get a very low action with no buzzing.
The body is agathis. So what? It is a solid piece of wood, not laminated. Agathis, alder, ash...don't waste time trying to hear the difference. Spend your time practicing and developing your style. You won't hear any difference from the agathis. If you do, the difference is insignificant. Agathis keeps the cost down.
So does having the guitar made in Indonesia. Don't let that influence your opinion of workmanship. This is a very well-made guitar that deserves its association with Fender via Squier.

This guitar will not fail you whether you play at home or at gigs. I really don't see how it could. If you are careless you might ding it here and there. Short of dropping it and having it fall off the guitar stand, there is no way it's going to fail you.
The strap button are larger than what Gibson puts on their guitar, so if you jump around a lot then your strap is going to come off. Put straplocks on, or those black plastic strap locking disks you can get for about $3 for a set.
This is a solid guitar.

I have Strats, Teles, Les Pauls. I wanted something different, and this guitar delievers. Whether you play tube or solid state amps, this guitar will sound good. If not, don't blame the equipment.
