This is a beautiful guitar with an ash body, maple neck and fingerboard, teal green transparent finish, locking tuners, american deluxe tremolo, aged pickguard and knobs, and brand new "vintage noiseless" stacked humbucker pickups. this is one great guitar!
accessories, black tolex case that could survive a war, leather strap, straplocks, cable, polishing cloth, cool stuff like that.

this would suit ANY music style great. i use it with a Laney HC50R amp, Morley wah pedal, and Big Muff reissue distortion pedal. it can get distorted and angry or bright and melodic, anything you want, tons of variety. as a matter of fact, i don't dislike anything about this guitar.

this guitar was FLAWLESS in every aspect. the thing was even in perfect tune when it got to my door! the finish is the nicest i have EVER SEEN, on ANY guitar, car, house, anything... i love my guitar.

i will gig without a backup and not think twice about it. it'll be a cold day in hell before this thing breaks! the straplocks (already installed) are really solid.

I've been playing 4 years and i use this strat along with a Jazzmaster and a Seagull S6 Mahogany Cedar acoustic (souped up with an acoustic lace sensor) through a Big Muff pi reissue into a Morley PWV (power wah volume) and finally into a Laney HC50R amp. it is the most beautiful and nicest sounding instrument i have EVER played, and i have played many instruments, some of which cost twice as much as this, but this thing blows anything away! i wouldn't sell or trade this guitar for anything! just drop me a line if you have any questions.

Bought new 1998 made in Corona CA. 22 fret, solid top, alder body volume, tone, 5 way, passive s/s/s stacked humbuckers. Standard strat design. Crimson Red, trem bar, maple neck, locking tuners, med jumbo frets. Accessories had strap, cable, hard case, tools, straplocks. This is Fender's attempt at fixing many of the complaints on its other models.
Sound
:9
Sound lacking the noise typical of single coil pickups, quite clean. It still maintained that single coil clean tone. Playing into a clean channel, strats have two worthwhile pickup settings, the neck for leads and neck/center for blues. The rest of the settings don't really impress me unless you distort the hell out them. The tone knobs tend to make a fairly bright sounding guitar sound like its played on an AM radio.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The finish was perfect. The intonation was set perfectly and and action was exactly how I like it. The pickups were adjusted perfectly. I only kept this guitar for a few days before returning it. Fender has a real problem with consistent quality, whether it is American or Mexican. The intonation adjustment was set fully to one end, jammed against the bolt that holds the bridge on the guitar. The neck, while it played like a dream, buzzed something terrible at the 3rd fret with the E, A, and D strings. The neck was already bowed quite a bit, so it shouldn't have been a truss rod adjustment. Fender has a reputation for being jerks about warranty work and I wasn't about to bother dealing with them. The limited lifetime warranty is worthless. If you actually read the warranty exclusion, Fender basically guarantees that it will be a guitar for the lifetime of the original buyer. If the wood warps or cracks, you are screwed unless you can prove it didn't happen because of a temperature change, good luck. For what I paid for this, I expected better.

This would have been a good ax if it had left the factory with a correctly made neck. I can't comment on the finish. I wouldn't use it without a backup, if you break a string, it is a pain in the ass to thread one through the bridge in a hurry.

Fender's reputation kept me from getting it fixed. The lifetime warranty that comes with this thing is a joke if you actually read it. For nearly a grand, there is no excuse for the low quality. I bought this thing mail order from Musicians Friend. They made good on their return policy, so I considered myself wiser for the experience. I was really undecided between this and a Les Paul. I returned this for a Les Paul Studio and am much happier.

I'm really down on Fenders. The body is really well shaped, but the top is badly designed. You can't do a proper palm mute without accidently shutting off the volume because the vol knob digs into the heel of your hand, and the trem bar is in the way anyway. After playing a guitar with real humbuckers, I found that the single coil sound got old with me. If you just play dirty channels, it won't make much difference. If you have to have a strat, I would recommend buying a Yamaha Pacifica and tearing out the crappy pickups. You'll end up with a better instument for less bucks. I couldn't wait for mine to get lost, so I traded it in.

USA Corona, Calif., 1998 model (1st of kind, 22 fret maple neck and maple fingerboard (tired of rosewood myself), 2 tones, 5-way switch, volume, 3 vintage-noiseless pickups...AMAZING...no humming or anything, beautiful tone, alder body, it uses the deluxe 2-point tremolo system...reliable and strong, jumbo frets with a slim neck...came with high-end fender hard-case, fender locking strap and whammy bar...and cable.

I play mainly blues/rock and some jazz. I use a roland Jazz chorus 120 and the pickups are simply astonishing. One of the great things about this guitar is the variety of sounds you can get out of it. I enjoy the crispness of the sound and the punch I get while putting out solos and blues riffs...sweet indeed. Then of course, considering the cost of my new baby, it had better have been sweet!

The factory setup on this guitar (mine) was outstanding. However, I had tried several American DElx Strats before this one, and some had actions that were too high for my liking. The pickups are perfectly adjusted in my opinion on the one I picked up, but again, on another I had played, it just didn't sound as good...which is why I recommend finding just the "right" one. The finish of this guitar is outstanding, and the only reason I am gonna give it a 9 instead of a 10, is because of the others I had tried out.

This guitar is solid. Everything about it seems secure and reliable in my view. I would probably use a backup just to be safe (but then again, some people think I am paranoid anyhow...). This in my view is a top-line, american made, quality strat that will last...and become a classic.

I have been playing for 8 years, and my previous guitar was a washburn with humbuckers and a floyd rose tremolo system. With 24 frets, it is a beast of a metal guitar, but lacks in quality/durability in my opinion and experience. I would definitely try to scrounge up enough money to buy this one again, though it'd be hard to tell you the truth...hehe. I tried many guitars out before I purchased this particular model, and from what I have seen so far from it, it is an excellent value.

This guitar is truly unbelievable. I searched high and low for a guitar that would give me a wide versatile range of tones without being to fat a tone or too tinny and this guitar did it all..It has three NEW fender single coil vintage noisless pickups! They are truly awesome!! I have not been to one gig where i have not been complimeneted on the tone...These pickups replaced the Fender lace sensors and what a job fender did with this one The new pickups are truly amazing! Same as most strats it has your 5 way switch. The deluxe has a hot bridge which gives you that extra punch youll need. Just like the name they are virtually noisless almost no hum at all! It also comes equipped with locking tuners which help alot!! It comes with everything youll need except the amp: A strap, a cable, a case, and it is straplock ready! Another great thing about this guitar is the colors! My guitar has a Crimson red finish on it yet you can see the grain on the wood through it! Very cool! The neck is also very well done its hand sanded and the frets are hand done also, which makes this the only guitar ive played with such a smooth neck yet it still lets your hand slide like you wouldnt believe. Another thing it has is the abalone dot inlays which give it a nice look and aged vintage plastic parts which make it look cool as well! Truly an excellent guitar!!

The sound off this guitar is Amazing! The noiseless pickups are amazing...They dont have to fat a tone or too tinny a tone there are great...They are almost like the Fender lace only they have a fatter tone to them, they are not as fragile, and it doesnt sound tinny. You can belt out amazing screams with these!! I personally use it to play Funk, Blues,Jazz and Rock so they are truly versatile to whatever you are playing! The hot bridge is also another great feature! It gives you that extra punch youll need to solo while still keeping a great tone no matter at what volume it is! It sounds Wonderful with distortion as well!

Again this guitar is truly amazing! The first time time i saw this guitar i fell in love with it....Crimson see through finsh....Glazed headstock, and on the headstock the Fender logo is printed in silver metallic letters. It has Aabalone dot inlays which look cool and aged plastic parts which makes it look even better!..Everything came perfect when i bought this guitar and NO im not just saying that!! The neck was set properly all the tuners were secure and the selector was secure without and noise! Im almost positive its an alder body which gives it some more tone! The tone controls on this guitar work very well as well i was suprised at what a good job Fender did with this guitar!! CHECK THIS GUITAR OUT!!!

This guitar seems very durable ive used it at every gig and never broke a string or even got a scratch yet(very surprising!!)!! ! The finish on it is tough! Not a fragile guitar at all! The straplock buttons are solid so no worries about the strap coming off in the middle of your solo! I would definately use this at a gig without a backup without a doubt!! I truly trust it!

Ive been playing for 10 years now and this truly is my very favorite guitar out of anything ive tried yet!! I own a Peavey Bandit 112 amplifier and both the guitar and the amp compliment each other with great sound! If this guitar was lost or stolen I would buy a new one but not before i hunted the thief down for stealing my pride and joy! I guess the think i love most about this guitar is the tone (noisless pickups), The neck and THE LOOK (which was very cool!!), Fender did it all with this one. I started off wanting to buy a big apple strat and the tone was just too fat with the two humbuckers then i tried the lonestar and the tone was just too jumpy for me (didnt like it at all) and last i tried an American Strat with the Lace sensors in them and they sounded too tinny for me and when i picked up the AMERICAN DELUXE STRAT i was truly astonished at what a great guitar this was (soo full of tone)!!
