I find that it sounds great "very articulate and clean sweet sound" I like the rear pickup in the right situation w/ the right amp and stompbox and it holds its own but not without turning up the volume a bit on the amp. these pickups are a bit less output them my jimmy vaughan strat

it is perfect and that is saying a lot for a fender as I have yet to see a perfect one but they all can be worked to get it right. this one just needed a slight saddle ajustment downward. first strat i have had that stays in tune time after time. this things plays so fast. I was worried about the small frets but now its like I have been playing them for years.

2000 made in Corona California, tri tone sunburst finish, three way
selector switch ( I left it in to keep with the vintage vibe) It
came with a Tweed case but traded it in for a Deluxe molded case to
protect my baby better. Plus the usual astray, tremolo arm, cable,
strap, etc.

Finally I found the guitar of my dreams! This guitar sounds exactly
the way a vintage Strat should sound like, the neck pickup is very
sweet sounding great for blues and jazz, the mid pickup is perfect
for Surf and Rockabilly. Buzz from the pickups are minimal, this
guitar is made to be played!

The fit and finish were perfect in every way. The frets are dressed
great, neck edges are nicely rolled for that broken in feel. The
neck fits comfortably in my hand. I had my tech set up the guitar
to my specs, and to the type of strings and action that I like. My
only beef was that there was a little bit of aged yellow over-spray
on the fret markers on the edge of the neck, other than that every
thing is sound and secure and fits like a glove.

I think that this guitar will outlast me and could be handed down
to the next generation to enjoy. The Nitro finish in time will wear
and obtain that vintage look. The hardware is built like a tank, the
machine heads keep this guitar in tune no matter how hard I play, even
with the most torturous dive bombs. I think the main thing to obtain
tuneing stability with a vintage tremolo, is to really tighten up the
5 springs in the back plate, it works! I don't take this guitar to gigs since I'm affraid of getting it banged or worse stolen. I can depend on this guitar any time and can't seem to put it down.

I have been playing for the past 5 years. If lost or stolen I would
definately buy another one. I had to decide between getting a New
American series or the vintage 62 reissue, but choose the reissue
for it's vintage vibe, and playing ability. I think that if anyone
is looking for a vintage Stratocaster, and does'nt want to spend a
fortune for an original 62' these guitars are for you.
