Mine is made in Korea - I have owned it since Christmas 2003 and it was bought to replace an ancient 12 string I missed. An excellent instrument with a solid top. The tuners are nice quality and changing strings isn't as daunting as some 12s I have owned!

Sound : 9
Sound is bright and crisp with nice bass sound coupled with a ringing treble. Action is a tad high at fret-11 but a slight change in set-up will change that

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
As said before original set-up wasn't my style but that was changed. Finish quality was nigh on perfect - I was very satisfied with that.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Never seems to go out of tune and retains the nice jangly sound even when strings are a tad old. Dependable especially when strumming, I don't pick 12s very often so I struggle with this technique

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had touse this but seeing as it is a Fender...

Overall Rating : 9
Although I have owned many guitars atthe moment this 12 is my only instrument, this willbe hanged soon as I am getting a 6 to go with it. The 12 is a lovely guitar and I would get another should anything happen to this one,no hesitation

I bought this guitar a month ago, solid top, nice looking, solid top.
Came with a very nice hardshell case.

Sound : 9
After trying many 12 string guitars in one afternoon, the Fender stood well above the more expensive competitors. Big, bright sound, great for strummin'.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Here's where I ran into a problem. When I got the guitar home, I was enjoying the heck out of it. But when I saw it in the right light, I realised that the bridge was pulling the top up. Subtle, but easy to see at the right angle. I can't imagine what the result would be after a few years of tension from 12 strings.
I was very dissapointed by this, and took the guitar back.
It's too bad as I really liked the tone and feel.
If you are going to consider buying one, take a good, hard look at every aspect of the guitar.

Been playing 40 years or so (Jeez!) Got almost all the guitars I need...Hehehe.
I really liked this guitar, but I couldn't trust the flaw.
The search continues.

Guitar was purchased used and was made (very well) in Korea. It's a non-cutaway 20-fret (14 clear) dreadnaught body with solid spruce top, laminated maple back and sides, nato neck and rosewood fingerboard and bridge, ebony bridge pins and endpin/strap button. The machine heads are chrome, die-cast and of decent quality. The finish is a gloss urethane but not heavily applied so the sound is not attenuated. Nice attention to detail is evident in the rosette, kerfing, binding and tortoise shell pickguard. In general, a very nicely built and finished no frills acoustic 12-string. A second strap button would make the score a ten.

Sound : 10
I can be a techno-hound, but there just doesn't seem to be a substitute for the great sound that good wood produces. Before buying this guitar, I played other 12-strings by Fender (DG-10, DG-16), Ibanez, Yamaha, Seagull, Ovation, Takamine and Taylor. This Fender has all of the brightness, depth and sustain you'll ever need. The sound is just incredible, and there's plenty of it. I mostly strum the twelve, but it's great for flat picking blues, too!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I bought this used, so I can't comment on how well it was set up when first delivered. But I can say that it's action is among the lowest of any of the twelves that I have ever played, and there is no buzzing in nonexistent anywhere on the fingerboard. The neck is ample, but fairly thin by 12-string standards. The frets are nicely dressed with no rough edges. It's a sweet playing instrument. I've had it tuned to standard pitch (E,A,D,G,B,E) and I've tuned it down a full step. Doesn't seem to matter: no neck problems and it stays in tune either way.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't know when mine was built, but it has held up well so far. There were a couple of nicks on the body and some [very] minor buckle rash when I bought it, but other than that... I've been taking the guitar out to play with no ill effects, and I've come to feel that I can rely on it. I think that with any used instrument you need to acquire a comfort level; I have that with this guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had a problem and don't expect any that would cause me to question the manufacturer's support.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing about two years, mostly rock and blues with some country and classical thrown in to keep me honest. Most of my playing is on a Martin D-1 six-string, but I wanted to experiment with a twelve-string. While cost was an issue (isn't it always?), I really didn't want to settle on mediocre sound and this guitar delivers quality sound in abundance. It's closest competitors were a Takamine and a Yamaha, but they were in the over-$600 category (I would have considered them more, if I needed the electronics but I don't). If something happened to this guitar, I'd replace it in a heartbeat. It's the real deal.

2002 model DG-14S-12, hard to believe but made in China...This rascal sports a solid spruce top, maple back and sides and a nato neck. I'm not sure about nato...haven't seen many of these trees growing around here, but most people I've talked to say it is reliable. This guitar appears to be Fender's answer to the Martin DX /DM/ Road series. It has the "WoodTone" finish which is one of the smartest things to come out of Fender in a long time. No heavy clear coat dampening the sound. That combined with the solid top really gives this 12 string a super tone. It comes with an ebony end pin instead of a perminate screwed in strap button, which I don't particularly like, otherwise she would be a "10".

Sound : 10
I played one of these at a music store in town, and also played the DG-10-12 and DG-16-12. Neither came close in tone. In fact, only the Martin DM12 (as far as guitars I actually took for test drives)compares in tone and playability. Finger picking is warm...Plastic picking is nice and bright.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Took it straight out of the box with great action. Just needed to tune it up and it was ready for business. I haven't found any finish flaws and the binding is top notch.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It doesn't have the heavy clear coat, which makes for a great sound, but I do worry about how well it will take minor abuse. I guess that's the trade off. On the other hand, I don't plan on it leaving the studio. I can't give it a 10 here because it does feel like an instrument that will need to be handled with a little extra care...but no more than I would be carefull with a $3,000 Martin or Gibson. And, I've already mentioned I don't like the end pin.

Customer Support : 10
Hell, it's got Fender's name on it...

Overall Rating : 10
I first strummed the chords to "House of the Rising Sun" about 33 years ago. So I think I can speak with a little authority when I say this is one damned fine guitar. I took a bunch of 12 strings for a test drive and this is the only one that really made me sit up and take notice. You just can't beat if for the price (you'll have to email for the details of how to get it discounted that much). It's a sweet guitar and it's a name you won't be embarrased to let other people see...go on and spend the extra $...
