I won't list every feature here, seeing as you've probably heard them all from others' reviews. Basically, mfg. in Korea, 20 frets, Fender piezo pickup w/ Fishman Classic 4 pre-amp.

This acoustic has been by far the most excellent guitar in its price range. I have enjoyed every moment playing this baby. Every feature on it is absolutely superb. The pickup system installed really does an amazing job when the guitar is plugged in. When played unplugged, this guitar sacrifices nothing. It sounds beautiful in every aspect. Just enough bass, not too much volume on the highs, and perfectly adjusted on the mids.

Sound : 10
Like I mentioned, this Fender sounds oh so beautiful. It meets all the practical acoustic standards -- and, in my opinion, oversteps them to boot! No matter which way you choose to use -- plugged/unplugged -- it sounds excellent either way. Don't worry about losing that distinct acoustic tone when it's time to plug it in. The piezo pickup and Fishman pre-amp do an outstanding job. From the minute I played it in the store to the second I brought it home, it's giving me beautiful, warm tones and sparkling, crystal-clear sound. I play styles from rock up to Christian contemporary. This guitar covers nearly every style I can think of. A very versatile instrument. I just love this acoustic...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I don't know why alot of the reviews here say this guitar's action is a bit too high. I think it's perfect -- then again, I may have lucked out and bought the odd ball of the bunch. I'm pretty picky about action, and this guitar feels great anytime, everytime. It sits well with the player in any atmosphere, as most dreadnoughts do. As soon as you wrap your hands around this baby's neck, you won't wanna let go. Such a comfortable neck and fit. I've also noticed people complaining about the pickup jumping out of its place inside the body due to poorly placed screws. Not with me. This guitar has given me 100% satisfaction since the minute I brought it home.

And, last but not least, the finish. The finish on this guitar is especially wonderful. Not one measely flaw. Fender did an outstanding job with this acoustic. I purchased a natural finish (however, it comes in black as well), mainly because I know it's much easier to keep clean and, let's not forget that natural finish preserves that classic, traditional acoustic appearance! All the pieces on it were perfectly constructed and put together. The bridge, neck, back, sides, top, frets, neck joint, head, tuning keys, nut, and fretboard are all flawless.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is withstanding everything I throw at it. It practically begs for more everytime I try to put it down. You'll play this thing for hours on end, and it will take it with ease. This guitar could be very well trusted in without a backup guitar (although if you're a fellow gigger, I wouldn't ever take one guitar alone to a show, just as a rule of thumb -- every show is unpredictable). The natural finish is holding up just fine (and I can be pretty soft to extremely rough in my playing style).

Customer Support : 10
I'm definitely a Fender fan, mainly because they make such great products that never let me down. Haven't had to deal with them yet, and at the rate I've been going, I probably never should have to anyhow! (does a standing ovation, screaming "YEAH, GO FENDER!") lol

Overall Rating : 10
Altogether, I've been playing for a good solid 3 years. I simply find music captivating in all its forms -- from guitar, to bass, to drums, to piano... every aspect of it is remarkable. If you're looking into an acoustic dreadnought that's ridiculously rock-hard in reliability, structure, and durability, then this acoustic is so very you! And with an unbeatable price for all its quality, I can't find a better (or even equal) acoustic to this one. Mark my words -- you will not be disappointed if you decide to add this baby to your musical artillery. It will be WELL WORTH every dime (and whatever tax you have to pay depending on your state). lol

Hats off to Fender... one more time yet again.

2002 Year, Korean Make. with 20 frets. Laminated top. With fishman pickup (active). The finish is Hi Gloss which looks very good. Very good sounding guitar for the price.

Sound : 10
Plays in Church for praise and Worship. Sound is full when plugged in the best settings for eq is in v shape. It sounds best with Martin SP 4200 medium strings. The type of string used affects the sound (ringing.....)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is little bit high than other guitars. The finsih is good.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've owned this guitar for more than 9 months and still sounds great. I hope to use it for a very long time. It would be better if they had a strap button on the neck. Can be used without a backup.

Playing for about a year since I fell in love with the guitar sounds. I use this for playing in Church only and at house have a Johnson Guitar for practise and beating down. I'm happy about the purchase. It wont let you down.

Korean guitar, laminated back, sides and top, 20 frets, 14 clear (standard dreadnought), Fishman active EQ/Pickup, 4 bands, black colour and gloss finish, came with a lousy cable and spare parts...i give it a 6 'cause no matter how good it sounds, it'll never gonna be any better than that cause of the laminated woods :( and also the cable sucks...

Sound : 6
I play emo rock, folk, mainly indie stuff and the guitar suits fine, its a tad too bright no matter how well you set up the pickup, and the bass could be stronger...it IS NOT the ideal guitar for strumming, rythm guitarrists like myself out there dont get this guitar! it is a fingerpicking guitar, when strummed the bass wont deliver as good, when capoed the lower strings are kind of muted, no matter wich fret your capo is in..Trough my Peavey portable PA it gets a new life though, as i said it delivers but it's not ideal, especially for strumming, the sound is far from rich and full, it is bright though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Mine needs a set up but im lazy, the action is a bit too high from factory, the original strings are pieces of crap but i guess everyone's used to it, no flaws whatsoever (just bad screws holding the pickup). Black is not good on this guitar, the gloss is great but black gets stained daily, the neck seems to have a problem though, its the 3rd string set i use and all of them get the lower strings rusty, i dunno why, no matter how good i take care of it, 2 weeks into new strings and the last ones are already black, all the time...i think it might be something related to the neck wood, but i doubt all of them do that, and since im getting rid of this one no probs.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Ive played it live, and it delivers as i said..the bass suffers when plugged in though, no strap buttons - im gonna leave that to the next owner, drilling holes in guitars always makes me nervous, its finish is top notch but looks a bit artificial, its quite shinny.. Mine is black so, stains come with the territory :( sadly, everytime i play it i gotta clean it big time, even the slightest touch of your finger gets it stained, and it stays there lol ..it looks great, and it will last forever, great reliable thing all around.

Customer Support : 2
The pickup screws were really thin and small, the pickup kept jumping out of the wood, but i had it replaced, it took 2 weeks to screw the damn things!! The store where i got it is quite snobish, they sell big brand pianos so they think they can do anything with poor guitar fellas, lousy service but they got it done. A 2 it is.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing for 3 years now and live for 2, i'm gonna go for a Martin next and the EJ 160 E from Epiphone. This guitar is mainly like a great thing that delivers, never ever lets you down, but its not the one you love, not for me at least. No matter how hard i try i cant bring myself to love it (lol), but she's there for you everytime. If it got lost or stolen i wouldnt replace it, matter of fact im trying to sell it! I wish i knew something about guitars the day i bought this one. I give it a 7 cause its a great guitar, no matter what, but you cant go any higher than that with laminated woods, guys and gals that gave it above that you need to try solid woods..this aint a 10 or an 8...its a 7 cause this is probably the best laminated guitar you can get for this price, and from fender, wich is a super brand, i dont like what they do, but they do it well, no discussion there. The black colour and cutaway are complete turn offs for me, i must have been high when i got this thing i dunno what i was thinking (lol). The cutaway completely destroys the folk feeling every dreadnought should deliver, and the black finish, altough durable gets stained on a daily basis. The sound is good but sucks if you're looking for a good bass and a vintage sound (like i am), teh mid strings take over waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too much, and its too bright, no matter where the brightness control is on 0 or max. , its always too bright. Great value for fingerpicking, and for something in this price range. But if you know better, you'll get a great solid wood acoustic and then install the pickup, and still be with some money left in your pocket if you know how to look for things. Dont be blown away by a brand like i was, that is a mistake, most laminated guitars sound the same and 90% of them are made in the same factory, regardless the brand. So everything's alike except for the brand, wich really doesnt matter until you reach a certain price range and the woods gets serious...untill then, this is a great value and a very good looking guitar, it has a fender logo but its no better than alot of no name guitars that flood the market with a pickup and laminated woods nowadays.

Everything you'd want on an acoustic-electric. No tuner though, which doesnt' bother me. I prefer without because I'm guessing a tuner might run the 9volt battery down quicker and I already have a tuner. 3 band equalizer is nice.

Getting a guitar with active pickups are ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY and well worth the extra 100-150. I played another guitar with passive pickups and had to turn the amp up to 10 to get the same sound this guitar produced at 2.

The model I bought is a cutaway dreadnought. The neck is sort of medium thin - thin enough you can move well on it, but not so thin that you lose feel.

Sound : 8
Great sound alone or plugged in. I play a lot of styles, from rock to pop to classic rock. Full sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Good action, tuning, finish, all top notch. Well constructed. Looks good too.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've this guitar for a half year and I take great care of my gear. Still looks and plays like new. Finish has a nice gloss that should withstand years and years of handling.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I think it is great to get a acoustic-eletric for about $350, especially one that sounds this good. Of course there are some better guitars out there, but probably not at this price.

Made in Korea. Laminated spruce top, laminated Maple back and sides, with a nato neck and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Grover-style die-cast machine heads. Fender piezo pick-up w/ Fishman Classic 4 pre-amp. Full size dreadnaught body. I got the natural finish, but it also comes in black. I gave it a nine, simply because it's not a "high-end" guitar, and doesn't come w/ a case.

Sound : 9
I play everything from Sublime to John Mayer as well as some blues, folk, and just about everything in between. This guitar sounds wonderful. Acoustically, this guitar is full, rich, and warm. It's not "glassy" or cheap sounding. Plugged in, it sounds just as good. The original warm tone is not lost at all. You cannot beat this guitar for it's price range!!! Once again, a nine because it's not a high-end Ovation, Taylor, Gibson, etc... it is above the top end of its price range in quality, though!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar was set up perfect from the factory! I've never had a guitar that I could play as easily as this one (well, except my old DG-11 CE). I could find nothing wrong with this guitar when I recieved it!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a guitar that will stand the test of time. I've had a lot of experience with Fender acoustics (the DG line especially), and I have gigged with them countless times. Except for scratches from picking, this guitar will take some abuse, and beg you for more! If you're gentle with it, God knows how long it will hold out for you.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them. Never had any problems.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 8 years, and have been gigging for 5 of those. I have a DG-11 and a Schecter Hellcat(electric) in my arsenal. If this guitar were lost or stolen, I would immediately buy an identical one. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who needs or wants a relatively low-priced guitar that can out last, out sound, and out play many of the higher end guitars out there that would cost twice to three times as much. Great guitar!!

Got it in the spring of '95, it was my first guitar, I'm sure you all know the standard list of features, came with a cheap but handy cardboard case, and replacement string pegs, and a cheap cable, (just got rid of the case last year and despite much travel, was still holding up. Fishman piezo bridge and eq. like I said I'm sure you all know.

I give it a 10 because it's an acoustic guitar, it plays, sounds great, and has a cutaway which is necessary for me, the pickup is a bonus, although live I prefer to mic it when possible.

Sound : 9
I play a lot of stuff, from blues to rock (all kinds of rock) and it sounds great, I own 8 guitars and have constantly upgraded the electrics, but I've had this since I started and it's sound is great.

It gets a 9, martins, takamines, and taylors do sound better, but this guitar sound holds it's own for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is great, the only flaw from the factory was that it was missing a screw on the eq, but the shop I got it from took care of that. other than that, there are some minor dings and things now, but that's because It's gone everywhere with me and then some.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've used this guitar extensivley without a back up, (the only other accoustic I own is a classical that never really leaves the house) as far as the finish goes, it's been drug all over, beaten etc and it's still there, with only superficial scratches here and there. This thing has spent a lot of time indoors, out doors, on stage, by a campfire, by a river, getting bumped around in the back of my car or getting carted through the woods, etc, and the neck has never warped, the bracing and all are still perfectly intact. this thing is a tank,

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with fender, the store I bought it from was great though.

Overall Rating : 10
I got this guitar in '95, it was my first guitar, and again despite changing many guitars, this is still my only steel string accoustic. If It were stolen I would kick the living snot out of who ever stole it, mostly out of sentimental value than anything else. This guitar has gone everywhere I have in the time I've had it, It's been played out a lot (mostly in college) and it's never let me down. I love the fact that it has a cutaway.

This guitar sounds great for the price. I play mostly Christian Praise and Worship music so this guitar fits that bracket nicely. Although I will say that when plugged in it sounds OK but not great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action is nice from the factory as well as the finish, a beautiful guiatr

Reliability/Durability : 7
I am still not fully sure whether this guitar is totally reliable. I bought it from stupid guitar center (butt pirates) and in the first three weeks it broke 7 strings all on the saddle. Guitar Center (butt pirates) replaced the entire guitar which was cool and so far it has been pretty good with strings. The loser at guitar center told me that it was completly me that strings were breaking every day all diffrent strings at the same spot. Yeah right. I wrote and Email to Guitar Center corporate and they hooked me up with free strings for a year.

'02 Korean Dreadnaugh cutaway, 20 frets, Fender doesn't say the top is solid spruce but I think it is. The Fender site says also it comes with a Fender Piezo but mine as the fishman classic 4 (Bass, Mid, Treble, Brilliance)like most people posted in these reviews. Fingerboard is rosewood. Back, sides and neck look like mahogany. Again, the Fender says the neck is nato... Will someone clarify all of the above!! It as a gloss finish. I was first going for the Seagull S6+CW but none were available when I bought mine.

Sound : 9
It has a clear and nice sound, not too bassy, not too bright. Haven't played in through the PA yet but bought it for that purpose... You can't go wrong with a Fishman! For that price... It's filled with nice features.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action was a little high. The finish looks flawless. Like I said, still need to try it through an amp

Reliability/Durability : 9
Any musician who takes care of their instrument will tell you they're reliable and durable so I guess this one is. Polyurethane finish are usualy very durable so it shouldn't scratch easily copared to satin finish

I've been playing on and off for the last 18 years. I also own a POD 2.0 that I might use as preamp. I wish this guitar would have had 2 strap buttons. I would have prefered a Seagull because I believe in the musical properties of canadian woods but Korean prices were OK:)

1999 Korean made, 20 fret solid spruce top with a Fishman classic four (Base, mid, treble and Brilliance) under the bridge pikup. Rosewood fingerboard with nicely grained maple neck Satin finish cutaway.

Sound : 8
Right now I am using a Crate DXB 112 with it. This amp has a lot of effects that aren't really practical for an accoustic but using the clean model and a smidge of compression really brings out the tone on this guitar. I sometimes get feedback with too much gain but overall this guitar has a wide range of sound. Very versatile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar had a great setup from the day I brought it home. Some have complained that the action was too high. They must have weak hands. This guitar has better action than guitars at twice and three times the price. I played a whole slew of martins, guilds and others the same day I bought this one and there was no comparison in sound and action. As far as the finish is concerned, it is a beauty. I haven't found a single flaw in over two years of regular play. This is a well built guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have been using the guitar fairly regularly for almost three years. There isn't a scratch on it. I occasionally use martin guitar polish and try to be careful with it, but honestly it looks as good today as when I brought it home. I have used it without backup many times. I do think for an accoustic it is very solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had any problem with this guitar.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 20 years. I play blues, country and bluegrass. This is not a weird as it may seem. I would definitely buy this guitar again. It plays as good unplugged as amped. It is a joy to play. For the price it is a great deal.

standard 20 fret layout, controls include standard treble, bass, volume, mid-level freq., brilliance. Fishman 4 classic pickup. beautiful finish, LOOKS like an upper-end guitar. nice rosewood bridge... dreadnought body aaand thin neck. nice quality tuners, metallic finish. annoyingly only one strap button. i hate that. only has the basics for a semi-acoustic.

Sound : 8
good for acoustic rock, sometimes play it through a marshall vs30r, but there is a horrid amount of feedback even with this small amp. keeping the fishman under half volume seems to fix it though, still well loud enough... it has a very ringing, bright sound, but not at the cost of lower-end freq. i like the clean crisp sound of it, it is clear but never screechy.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the factory set up action was WAY too high, but i filed away and away at the little plastic saddle, and now its absolutely per-fect. doesnt buzz at all, ever, (not unless i want it to!) not even with the heavily lowered strings. the factory strings were ok too. as far as i can tell, there are absolutely no flaws in the finish, not even a stubborn tuning peg...

Reliability/Durability : 7
a very reliable guitar, it seems sturdy, yet elegant, and i suspect it can withstand quite a deal of damage. i myself tend to baby my guitars so i wont crash-test it for you! wouldnt use it without backup though, but thats me, i wouldnt even play a concrete guitar with steel bracing and not bring a backup... that neck DOES look pretty thin though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea

Overall Rating : 8
ive played for roughly ten years, and this guitar seems to fit me very well. ive never been one to buy very expensive guitars, cause i dont think its worth the extra money. if it were stolen, id shop around, but probably end up buying this model again. on the sound side i appreciate the clear sound, the total lack of buzz, even on g, d and e strings, and on the visual side i worship the simple, yet beautiful design, and the nice overall finish. still wish it had a second strap button, but what the hell, if i get around to it, ill damn well install one myself.

'02 Made in Korea. Has 20 vintage frets and Fishman acoustic pickup.

Sound : 4
It sounds muddy when finger picked and too middy when strummed.
I simply don't recommend this guitar to anyone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Vintage frets are horrible to play. It is very unusual for acoustic guitar to have vintage frets.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The finish of this guitar was okay.

Never dealt with Fender but I would like to ask them why they keep making horrible guitars.. They used to make awesome guitars in 50 and 60s, and now they make crappy low end guitars. In my opinion, Mexi made Strats are horrible.

Overall Rating : 4
This guitar is not worth buying even for practice so save up your money and aim for Taylor acoustic. Taylor is much easier to play and sound very full. Also beautiful too.

Made in 2000 in Korea. Has 22 Frets and Fishman Classic 4 (Piezo) Active pickup with 3-band EQ with added "Brialliance" adjustment, volume slider and low battery light. Solid top spruce, Rosewood Fretboard, Mahagonay sides and back. Dreadnaught cutaway. Medium size neck, nothing included. The factory strings sucked (I dont know how they plan to sell the guitar to people who don't know anybetter with junky factory strings, I immediatly put Elixer strings on it and improved the action and tone noticably). Nothing else came with it.

Sound : 8
It has a very bright sound. In my opinion it blows away all other acoustic/ electrics in it's class. I play it unplugged on some occasions. When I record, its through through a Boss-ME30 with only reverb and a touch of Chorus. When I play out it's through the Boss ME30 as well and then a Fender HotRod Deluxe 1x12. EQ on the amp is level and reverb is all the way down, Presence at about 4. It sound great (again given it's class).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The guitar was set-up decent from the factory. As formentioned the strings that fender puts on their guitars are horrible. The action was okay, I had to straighten out a little bit of buzz. No noticable flaws with exception of some scuffs on the EQ.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar will withstand live playing with no problems. Comes with only one strap button. I like the fact that that the input is in the bottom strap-button. This seems more sturdy, keeps the chord out of the way and on other acoustics with the input seperate it seems like the nut is always loose. It's a reall pain when the input falls into the guitar especially right before performance. I would never come to a gig without a back-up but I'm not particularyl worried about this guitar. I expect it should last a long time.

Customer Support : 9
Fender has always been reliable. You can depend on them to stand behind their products from squires to strats.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for about 6 years. I have a Lonestar strat, I recently owned a Galveston Acoustic Electric hunk of junk that collapsed at the headstock with no warning, hence my recent purchase. I'm not too disappointed however, this guitar seems like twice the guitar the Galveston was.

I have no buyers regret whatsoever, If I lost it tomorrow I would buy this same thing If I could get this same deal again. There's nothing that particularly bothers me about this guitar. It was a solid purchase, it sounds, looks and plays very well.

I wish manufacturors would start making acoustics with two strap buttons. I hate playing with the strap tied around the headstock. As soon as I have some time I am going to put on antother button.

Made in 2000/2001? (Currently on layaway at Sam Ash in NJ.) Fender Acoustic Dreadnaught body (full size), single cut-away. Spruce top, mahogany bottom & sides. Rosewood fretboard with nicely dress frets and a rosewood bridge. Fishman Piezo under the saddle and features a 3 band EQ. Made in Korea.

I really like the full sound when both plugged in and un-plugged. I've been casually looking at Acoustic/Electric guitars for the past year or two, and this guitar sounds great compared to other guitars I've tried in this price range.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Appears to be extremely well put together. Factory set action is much better than most other acoustics I've played at any price. The salesperson noticed some minor scratches on the fretboard near the nut around the low E string, so he brought out another DG-20CE and it played just as nice.

I'm hoping it will be reliable & durable. I really think it will based on the Fender reputation, and what I've seen so far.

I really was not quite ready for an Acoustic/Electric at this time. I wanted to put together a part-time duo act and get some work lined-up first, but the special price and the quality of the instrument just made sense to put some money down now. I'm really looking forward to using it. I feel this is a great instrument for anyone looking to play as a hobbie, or to play professionally. It sounds great, plays great and is reasonably priced.

Good features for the price. Mine has a fairly tight grain Spruce top,
Rosewood fingerboard and very attractive Rosewood headstock and mother-of-pearl Fender logo. Back and sides are Mahogany and it has
an attractive cutaway for access to high frets. Also comes with high-gloss finish. Best feature of all is the built-in Fishman pre-amp system. I do not play out, but like to do home recording with my 4-Track and this guitars built-in system makes it an incredible value.

Sound : 9
The sound was the reason I bought this guitar. I had been considering the Larrivee D02E and the Martin DM, but they were both close to $600. I was totally surprised by how nice this guitar sounded. Not as bass-heavy as the Larrivee or the Martin, but has a wonderfully rich mid-range tone, with a nice bright ring that isn't too tinny sounding. Just right for strummers or finger pickers. I play folk-rock mostly (The Verve, REM, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, TTWS, etc.) and this guitar is just pefect for that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar was far superior to the other DG-20CE models in the shop for reasons I will list in the overall rating. Only flaw was that it buzzed quite a bit. The tech at Mars gave the rod a quick tweak and the buzz went away. The action was lower than most acoustics, which I like, and it still plays wonderfully. The fret work is of typical average-to-above average quality found on entry-level Fender models. I have yet to find any build or finish flaws on this guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I only use it for playing on the couch and home writing/recording.
Would love to hear it through a PA someday. I've been playing it constantly for about 4 weeks now and believe that it will be a very
reliable and durable instrument for years to come.

It should be noted that the other DG-20CE models I looked at were inferior to mine for the following reasons: The others had a Les Paul
style input jack in the lower corner, mine is in the strap peg. The others had a Fender pickup system, mine has a Fishman. The others had black painted bridge, mine has natural wood with gloss finish. The others had a wide grain on the top, but mine is very tight. I don't know why these differences were there, but they were all the same price. Maybe mine is a newer or older model? Shop around and compare before you buy. Bottom line is, the guitar sounds great. It's got that rich, ringing Dreadnaught sound and to get the Fishman system as well for under $400. with superior build quality is just an incredible value.

acoustic/electric 6 string with cutaway, select spruce top, mahogany sides & back. natural wood with high gloss finish.

not a bad sounding guitar for $299 (thru music123.com). it has a nice rounded bass sound & a not too clanky treble sound. my buddy has a $2800 taylor that sounds much warmer & mellower than this fender, but for under $300 i am impressed. i played a $499 takamine at guitar center & my fender is better sounding. plugged in, it's ok. i use a carvin solid state 100 watt 2x12 amp. i still have to play around with the eq controls on the guitar to find out the best sound. ive only had the guitar 1 week now.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the action is a little bit too high for me. i will have to read up on truss rods & maybe i will try to tweak it a little bit. anybody out there know how to do this? very nice tuners. they turn smoothly & feel expensive. the frets are i little grainy. i tried to polish them & it helped a little. i think a few months of playing & bending strings will smooth them out though. the add said "select spruce top" but i wonder if it is a solid one. hmmm i cant tell. the grain isnt as tight as my 1979 takamine f400 12 string. overall the guitar look like it was built better than most $300 guitars.

Reliability/Durability : 8
i give it the standard "8".

i shopped around & this fender was the most guitar for my money. good workmanship, good tone, good looks & the fender name. i didnt want to buy a $300 mitchell guitar, or an archer, or some such no name brand. i am pleased with my purchase. a little lower action & a little better tone would make this guitar equal to or better than most of the over $1000 acoustics i have tried at the guitar center store. if it was lost or stolen, i wouldnt have the $$ to replace it & i would sulk for days.

Mid '98 20 fret cut-away w/built in p-ups and 3 band eq. Mine is a natural finish and the workmanship is of very high quality.

I must have played 60 guitars the day I bought this one, it has a very sweet smooth sound throughout the spectrum. It sounds very well unplugged and equally well plugged in. It does however seem to be very hot (loud) when plugged in, so the volume knob stays on no more than a quarter. The only thing anyone could need when playing a gig is a dampner to reduce feedback.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It was set up rather well off the shelf, I was very impressed at the fit and finish of this this gutar(especally at the price point $400) It has wonderful action(about an 1/8" on the 12th) with no buzzing. I have found no flaws to speak of.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a very tough git with some alright electronics, its a very tough finish I have nicked it in a coupla places but it was my own damn fault. So far it has never failed me (except for a dead battery) and have always used it without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Fortunatly I have never had a problem with it.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing about 9 years. I would be heartbroken if i lost this git(like I said I played about 60 before buying this one,I tried Alvarez's, Guilds, Martins, Washburns, Ovations , and Gibsons) I have only found 1 other guitar around the same price point ( it was a Takamaine) that even came close to pleasing me. the only other guitar i have found that I like better was a $1600 Taylor and I dont have that much cash to burn. If you are in the market for a decent acoustic with some nice features and great fit and finish, the Fender DG 20 CE is a great git for the cash.

Fender Acoustic Dreadnaught body with a single cut-away. The top is solid spruce and the back and sides are mahogany. The neck is nato. The tuners are what appears to be Ping knock-offs. The whole guitar has an high-gloss finish. There is a rosewood fretboard with nicely dress frets and a rosewood bridge. The top has a tortoise shell pickguard. The acoustic/electric pickup appears to be a Fishman Piezo under the saddle and features a 3 band EQ with gain and tone control.
The guitar has a mother-of-pearl Fender logo in the headstock and a nicely cut and glued binding. Nice fit and finish. Good example of what Korean labor can produce.

Sound : 10
I am using the guitar with an Ibanez PT-4 pedal and a Crate GX-40c amp. The guitar has a bright mid to high tone along with a rich sweet bass from the mahogany back and sides. The tone is well balance so that lows are clear and distinct, and have good resonance, while the highs shine through. The result is a balance sound that is not overpowering at the low end, nor week and thin at the high end.
This is a great guitar for flat-picking and sound very mellow for finger style work. The tone is similar to older Martin 000-15 mahogany guitars from pre-war days. It has a similar sonic spectrum.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Off the shelf, sao to speak, the action was very slightly higher than I wanted it. It was not bad, but, I found myself adjusting the truce rod. This is not something I'd recommend to someone without experience. The guitar was probably just taken from the carton and placed on the wall hanger.
The bridgeis very clean, no chips or splinters in the cut work. The binding was perfect. Under the set neck was a small area of black paint were a trim brush must have slipped and nobody caught it. The flaw is not visible unless you go looking for it.
There are no squeeks, no improperly fit areas, everything seems to be in perfect order mechanically and the electronics work flawlessly.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is a well-built guitar. The machines seem to be fairly solid and I doubt that I'll ever have problems with them. The gear ratio seems excellent.
The neck is well mounted and the guitar's heft says to me that it is a pretty robust piece of craftsmanship.

I have not needed any help with this or any Fender guitar.

I have played guitar for over 30 years and have owned many fine instruments. I don't judge a guitar by its price. I just it by the sound, the performance of the neck, and the expectations I have based on the price. this is one guitar that I feel rivals guitars of much higher price in quality of materials, assembly, and performance. I am still amazed that Fender can produce such economical guitars with such high quality when many other makers charge much more for less quality and performance.
The action of this guitar is really great and I fell in love with the tone when I first started playing it.
Before selecting this guitar, I compared it to Takemine, Larrivee, Martin DM series, X series, and 00-15 Martin concert body. I looked at a couple lesser known alternatives (Tacoma, Dean, Blue Mountain).
It would be nice to see this guitar in a sunburst color. Other than that, I can think of nothing I'd add and I certainly wouldn't take anything away from it. Fender has a winner with this one.

it was made in I would guess '98 in Korea. It has 20 frets, rosewood fingerboard, I THINK it has a solid spruce top, spruce back & sides. It has a Fender transducer with a three-band eq, volume and tone controls. I'm not sure what the neck is, but whatever it is, I don't particularly care for it because it is finished in black like the guitar and is not very fast. it didn't come with ANYTHING, which kinda sucks.

Sound : 10
sounds pretty good unplugged, but it doesn't really respond all that well to playing it dynamically, especially when playing chords. good separation with solos, though. It sounds really good plugged in. The eq is really useful for getting richer or brighter sound, though the tone control doesn't seem to do very much. It's also very loud plugged in.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I suppose the guitar was set up perfectly for how it was supposed to be set up, but it was not necessarily set up the way I like it. It has a fat neck, and is a big guitar in general, of course, I am a small person. after playing this guitar for a while, I feel as fast as Clapton playing on my electric. one thing that was great when i bought it was the finish. that's a big reason i bought this one.

Reliability/Durability : 8
All of the important stuff on this guitar is great. I would definitely gig without a backup, and I think this thing will last forever. However, there are a couple of little things that really get me. I don't play especially rough, and I always keep it in its case when I'm not playing, but it seems to get scratches out of no where, and they're especially noticable because of the black finish. i don't think the paint would ever chip, or anything like that, because i've hit it against a lot of stuff and it's still ok.

Customer Support : No Opinion
dunno, i doubt i'll ever have a problem big enough to need to contact fender.

Overall Rating : 9
Great guitar, its one of the best acoustics i've played, I guess i just don't like the feel of acoustics. sounds great, doesn't give feedback except when run through pedals at high volume, and that's not what acoustics are for anyways. I've been playing for about a year, and I also have a Yamaha pacifica 412, or something like that, which i like a lot. i play mostly classic and modern rock, with a little bit of hard rock, but that's obviously not what i bought this guitar for. sounds great for pretty much any style, though, especially plugged in.
