Some have commented on lack of features of this guitar. I am going to try to correct that.
1) The tortoise binding on this guitar is very nice and not found often on this price level!
2) The top on mine is a beautiful, dark, golden brown color. I don't know if it is solid or not, but the sound makes me think it might be.
3) The position markers are really nice pearl and the fret ends are nice and smooth.
4) Korean built, but very well constructed. Nice bridge as well.
5) I will admit the tuners could be better.

This is a folk type/folk sized guitar. For the purpose it is designed for and for the price - this guitar sounds great. The neck on these guitars is very nice to play. I would call the sound rich and full - very much balanced and even accross all strings.

Again for the price level, I would rate everything about the fit, finish, and construction as excellent.

Very durable/very dependable. Mine is 23 years old and looks and plays like a fairly new instrument.

I repair guitars and set guitars up for maximum playability. I have worked on nearly every brand. I generally think well of Fender guitars, although newer ones are beginning to decline in quality. These 1980s/1990s acoustic guitars from Fender were good guitars. My F200 has classic beauty (like an early Japanese Yamaha).

The fit and finish are good for the price range.

The tone is a bit flat and hollow. Taylor, Ibanez, and Ovation models have all been a little fuller. The mid range is exceptional though. It sounds best played off a stage mic.

I picked this one out of over 20 that were on the wall due to the set-up. I re-adjusted the truss after a few years and the neck is great.

After 22-1/2 years it has held up great. The bridge has stayed and the top has no bow. Neck action is fantastic.

I started in '64 with a Mattel Tiger. This is my 7th guitar. I also play a Flying V and an Ibanez 12.
If I replaced it, I might get a higher end instrument.
This was a wedding present from my wife. Need I say more?
I looked at Alvarez, Guild, Ibanez, Harmony, P&C - this one just played better.

Concert size (bit smaller) body, mahagony sides and neck, looks like a rosewood fretboard. Made around 1990. Plain acoustic.
Sound

Perfect for bluesy, funky style - probably due to a smaller sized body. A little less bass is obviously a benefiting factor for having very rich mids and highs. Just brilliant for the low price product. Sound is still never too bright and never rings out of control, even when strummed heavily. After playing this one, all the big body boomy bassy acoustics sound boring to me. This is the sound I want from the acoustic guitar that is not just for impressing girls on the beach by the fire, but for true rocking and rolling as well. I never tried a higly priced Martins and such, so 9 is all I am confident to give it.

Quite low action for acoustic. The fit and finish immaculate. No flaws, stays in tune. No buzz, none.

Very reliable so far. Everything solid. Has whitstood quite some parties, blows, falldowns. Never needed a trus rod adjustment. Neck is straihgt as a rock. Will rather not give a 10 here, you never know what will hapen, but durable so far.

If you are not an acoustic classic guitar virtuoso type, but prefer electric guitars and ocasionaly like to play acoustic, then this may be just the right guitar for you. I even recomend fitting a lower gauge strings, and you can play without this awkward pain in your hands and sound fluent.
Smaller body, low action, rich sound - there should be more guitars like this on the market. The only problem you will be hard pressed to get one these days.

Standard f200. It was a gift for Christmas. It came with a Gig Bag, Strap, Tuner, Music Book, Picks and some extra strings. It's features seem pretty average for an acoustic.

The Sound was great when I first got it, but lately it's picked up a nasty buzz around the 5th fret. We've had it repaired several times and it still buzzes on the First String. I absoulutely loved the guitar before the buzz. It had a nice rich sound... not to bright, But I have to give the sound a lower rating because of the buzz.

The Action on this guitar is great. Much better than many other guitars I've tried, including my husbands and his best friends. I have had to have it adjusted though to try to fix the buzz problem mentioned above. Finish is great. It has absolutly no cracks or crazing. It looks like brand new, even though it was used, and I've used it for 6 months now.

This Guitar is Pretty Tough. It's withstood the gentle attention of a 7 year old and and 18 month old. It's also gotten banged around a bit because I'm in a wheelchair and have a hard time carrying it to it's stand. It's withstood being dropped quite a few times, and has no scratches or dents at all. I love the durability.

Bought it used so I haven't dealt with Fender, but the store I bought it from has been great in attempting to fix the buzzing sound.

This is my first guitar, and I am pretty happy with it. Since I think the buzzing problem is fixable, I'm sure I will go back to absolutely loving this guitar. I love how easy it is to play, plus it has a fairly narrow neck which is great for my small hands. I did compare other guitars, and I chose this one based on its nice sound and smaller size. I would highly recommend this guitar as a first guitar, just check the 5ht fret first! :)

Made in Korea and bought new in the late 70's, my 20 fret, spruce laminated top with mahogony sides and fret board F-200 standard folk size acoustic guitar is one of the best musical instuments I've had. Seldom mentioned is the pick gaurd and the wave on the head that make the overall look light and flowing while the mother of pearl inlays and signiture maintain a look of class.
Sound
:

My musical style ranges from clasical to heavy rock. During slow clasical peices that require extreme presicion and finess, each tone holds true and rings full. Bass is not necisarrialy what theis guitar was made for but rather the rich mid tones and light to heavy highs distinguish this model form the rest. The Human voice is the perfect accompaniment as a voice tends to resonate in the smae range (alto/tenor)

The action is incredible, low to the board with rounded fret sides for ease in sliding with low finger noise. Though with the age of my specific guitar, and the constancy of use the first three to five frets (along with other common frets) have worn down below the first second and third strings. This caused me to have to raise the bridge forcing the action to lessen slgihtly. And after being banged into every wall I've seen and taking hard front side falls, the A tuning key has fallen off. Though the specific malfunctories take away from the precision, they do add that personl look that only comes with age.

I'm a soloist by nature, not to say I play "solo lead guitar" but that I play with just my self. I find it hard to play with others. This guitar when played with feeling, is the only thing you need on stage, fx such as dolce and ponticello show the surprising versitilty of the F-200 as well as the tambora which I have never heard fail. And the Golpe, produced by tapping the entire end of the second digit (i.e. past the last knuckle}against the bottom side of the saddle just past the peg for the high e really lets you hear what this guitar has to offer. My guitar has been abused, sat on, dropped, banged, bumped and bruised, each causing that empathy pain in my chest. Through all of this it still maintains its rich mids and highs while whispering the lows in the backround.

I can't say I've ever had to call the company to let them know there was a problem. Though because of my enjoyment of this great Beginner/intermidiate Guitar I have decided to keep my buisness with the company and have jsut purchased my new Fender grand acoustic dreadnought

I've only been play for 6 years this spring. I have a repetoire of 50 covers, 15 originals, and 5 classical peices. Though my time on the guitar has been short, it has been with fervor. I played 10 hours a day seven days a week when I started (droped out of high school) and continue to play at least three hours a day. Though with ech new song I learn I seem to lose one that I already had. BUt Im off the point. My favorite feature of this guitar is the shape, the asthetic style. The wave on the top to the color of the pine top, and the classic pick gaurd that I can't seem to find on any other guitar, just casue my eyes to dance everytime I look at it. There are better guitars, but the number of worse guitar is greater.

This guitar has aged really well.I have been playing it for 20 years now and Other people still comment on how good it sounds.I would describe the tone of the F-200 as mellow yet strong. When I play along with friends with much bigger and more expensive guitars the sound of mine always rings through.

I also own a Fender 12 string and an Epiphone Sorrento. I have never been able to afford the really expensive instruments that most of us dream about. For me this was my first real guitar and although I have tried many others since buying this one I still cannot find anything as good at anywhere near the price.

This is a grand concert size acoustic I purchased new in 1986 for around $175. Made in Korea...I'm pretty sure it's a laminate but it has held up well and the sound has improved with age. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides with mother of pearl logo on the head stock and dot inlays.
When I bought this guitar I was a beginner simply looking for something to stay in tune and I must say it's delivered far more than that.

The grand concert size which is slightly smaller than a dreadnaught produces some nich highs and mids rather than the bassy sound a lot of dreads produce. Depending on what gauge strings are on, I can get some reasonable bass out of it as well.

It was perfect when I bought it and 15 years later it's held up well through camping trips, moves and overall abuse. Really has just a few of the expected dings.

This guitar and Keith Richards would be the only two survivors of a nuclear holocost. Fender acoustics get no respect but I can vouch for them. This guitar's far from a Martin or Gibson, but then again most people don't have a thousand or two laying around for a guitar.
