It suits my music style great. I play mostly classic rock music and a little blues/jazz. I use a little peavey rage 158 amp. It has a really bright tone, fairly high, but I like that. It only gets noisy when you put on too much distortion. It sounds great with a little distortion.

The tuners from the factory sucked. They were too loose and they made the strings have an awful buzz to them. I got them replaced......problem solved completely. Other than the tuner problem the guitar was awesome. Plays great.

This guitar is like a rock. It will last me for a very long time. The finish is great. Strap buttons are very solid. I can very easily depend on it. I wouldn't use any guitar in a gig w/o a backup. You never know when a string will break on you.

I only have two guitars. My other is a fender dg-3 acoustic which I love to death. I have no regrets w/ my purchase. I would probably save up my money to buy a real fender strat but I may have second thoughts about it if it were stolen. I love the color it is an arctic white and it is gorgeous. It was either this a peavey, a danelectro, or a hamer slammer. I liked this one because it was a fender and it fitted my playing style better. I wish it had humbuckers, but that's allright. anything else?........................it's awesome

It was made in china. It's has your basic 3 single coil pickups, 1 volume and 3 tone knobs. It also has rather large frets, bigger than most Fenders.

I play rock/grunge/punk kinda stuff and it works pretty well. It sounds pretty good considering how much I paid for it. But those single coils are kinda noisy, but I usually use a noise gate to get rid of that.

1997, Chinese Made, 22 Frets, Volume Control, Tone Controls for Neck and Middle Pickups, 5-Way Selector, S/S/S, Single Coil Pickups, Made of some kind of crappy composite wood (almost looks like plywood,) solid finish, Strat style (of course,) includes a butt-load of accesories!!! DON'T FALL FOR THAT GIMMICK!!!! I recomment going with the Mexican made Strat as a beginner. If you get half decent you'll be kicking yourself!!!!!

The pickups are so weak. It sounds like tin through any amp. I'm very dissapointed. But, what can you expect from the cheapest guitar Fender makes?

Please, unless poor as anything, don't buy this guitar. Maybe they'll cancel the Squier line of products.

It's your pretty basic P.O.S. strat, good for beginners but if you dont upgrade soon, you'll find yourself wanting more. I bought the Squier Strat Pack, so it comes with a gig bag, strap, cable, picks, and a set -o- strings. The best thing about it is the (and I quote) "SINGLE COIL PICKUPS". They suck real bad, but deliver some funky-white-boy-treble. Oh, and let's not forget the "SOLID HARDWOOD BODY" what kind of feature is that? It's not a pawn shop piece of lumber though.

Like I said, it's ok for when your getting started. The amp in the Strat pack I bought is a piece too. It's also a squier, and buzzes a lot. Even more in the Bridge pickup position. I also use a Daddy O overdrive, which is the best piece of eqiupment I own. It suits any style you want, IF YOU WANT TO SOUND LIKE SHIT.

Everything was good. Exept the fretboard sticks out over the neck a lot. The finish was pretty good.

Well, this is probably the best category. It takes a lickin and keeps on ticken. It"s been banged around more than a cheap whore on a Los Vagas corner. My Squier instantly became Ol' Bessie.

I"ve been playing not quite a year, and it was a good guitar that I will smile about when i reminice of the good times playing. If it were stolen, I would Hunt the bastard down............and Gladly shake his hand, and maybe give him some money. This would force my parents to buy me a new axe.

3 pickups, non-locking tuners, tone and volume dials, fat neck, and nice whammy bar... It wasw made in china in 1998. If you can try to find an 83-88 Japanese Squire Strat.. they are the best!

This guitar sounds great. I had the pickups raised a little and they sound amazing. The middle one is unbelievable. The bottom is "obnoxiouus" haha. The Top is strong with good rhythm. The composites sound great. I use it with a Squire Sidekick amp. It has a lot of variety great for clapton, hendrix, SRV, boston, beatles, metal, etc.

The guitar was set up nicely at the factory but the pickups were low and needed to be raised. IF YOU GET ONE BE SURE TO RAISE THE PICKUPS!!! Nothing waqs loose at all and it came in very good shape. The color is an awesome custom fiesta red.

This guitar is solid. Its strong and cheap. It'll last a long time. The finish seems great. THe strap buttons are very solid. It is very dependable. I would not use it in a gig without backup. Strings break pretty easily and tuning gets undone pretty quickly.

Standard strat Hardware, nothing too special here. The Machineheads are crap, as is the trem (forget using it, the slightest waggle and the tuning goes) There are cut corners all over the place, but what can you expect from a guitar of this price?
Sound
:

My band doesn't really have a set style, but we lean more towards Zappa, and other odd shit. It aquits itself pretty well for what i do, and it cops a LOT of shit (its been dropped, kicked, carried around in the back of a car without a case, and beaten with a screwdriver when i was doing a little Sonic Youth style Feedback experiment, showing no more for this abuse than a couple of dings). I use it through a Peavey Rage Amp as well as a friend's Park, occasionally with some homemade effects. Sounds much better now i replaced the bridge Pickup with a quarter pounder Jaguar model. If you want to do anything but noodle, yer going to have to invest in new pickups i'm afraid. With new pickups, i'd give it a 10, cause i'm really pleased with it's sound now.

Well, it was from Squier, and the action was fine when i got it. The finish is just shocking. The pickguard was made of a really cheesy single ply white plastic, and it doesnt sit flush with the body. When i opened up the body cavity, a bunch of sawdust fell out (eek!) But, once again, what can you expect for this price?

For all its other faults, it does have the virtue of being built like a brick shithouse. I mentioned before what i have done to it. Once i replace the machineheads, i will have no reservations about using it without a backup.

I've played for about 18 months and this is my only guitar. It's heavy, the hardware bites, it looks ghastly up close and the trem sucks, but i LOVE this thing. I wouldn't trade it for all the '59 Les Pauls in the world. My advice to a beginner is spend more money if you want to sound like your guitar heroes, but if you want to sond like YOU, buy a piece of crap like this, and customise it like i have. I would rate it 10 for myself, and -10 for anyone who wants to sound like Steve Vai. But who wants to be a big haired toss-off anyway?

I'm playing it with a Marshall VS65R combo. It's just a little bit noisy when it's set for using only one pickup ( Bridge, middle, neck). It has a great sound. Specially in the neck pickup for clean tones and in the bridge pickup for distorted. Excelent for any kind of music.

I've been playing for about 4 years. I would rather buy it again. In the world of guitars, it's a good way of having a Fender, eventhough a real Fender is really more expensive.
