I bought this guitar in 2003. It has 21 vintage jumbo frets, daphne blue, has 1 volume knob, 1 Seymour Duncan Invader Pickup, Maple Neck with a Rosewood fretboard, String-thru body, Kluson vintage tuners, came with a Fender Gigbag. I give it a 7 just based on the simplicity of the guitar.

I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a fan of Blink 182. I use either a Fender Twin or Hiwatt DR-504 with a Marshall 4x12 cabinet. I have an MXR Stereo Chorus, a Digitech RP-7 for my Overdrive, Reverb and Delay, an MXR EVH painted Phaser, a Vox Clyde McCoy Wah, and a Ernie Ball Volume Pedal. Now to the guitar. The guitar plays great. The action is nice, intonation is dead on, and the Seymour Duncan Invader sounds really good for heavier music. When you put the guitar on just a clean setting, it sounds kinda muddy, but keep in mind that the guitar is not meant to sound like a tele or an ordinary strat. This guitar was designed for hard rock/punk music, which I play some hard rock and no punk at all. Now I have seen some posts on here about how some of the people said they hated the guitar and thought it sounded horrible. If you think it sounds horrible, you can always switch the humbucker out for another one, or do like I did with one of my other Fender Strats and buy the EMG DG20 David Gilmour Series Pickups and slap those in. Those sound amazing. I knew what to expect from this guitar so I have no regrets at all of buying it, and now that it's out of production, I have no plans of selling it.

Generally the factory set-up isn't the best. I took mine to a local guitar tech and he tweaked it up and it plays great.

I've used it live many times, and it's always been great. It's not my main guitar, my main guitar is a Fender Strat with the EMG David Gilmour Pickups. I use the Tom Delonge Strat for our heavier stuff that doesn't require me to switch to a clean channel, and it works great, and I use it as a back up incase I ever break a string.

I've been playing for over 13 years. I have the Fender Strat with EMG's, the Tom Delonge Strat, a Gibson Les Paul Standard, a Takamine 6 and 12-string. Like I said I don't regret buying the guitar. I don't plan on selling it b/c it's out of production. The thing I love about it is that it sounds really good when you're playing hard rock stuff. As far as the features, I love the daphne Blue, I like the fact that it's simple, and it plays great. I guess the only thing I would want is a neck pickup, but I'm not making any changes to the guitar, I'm just going to keep it stock.

Very basic (1 vol, 1 pick up, 22 frets), but it does everything I need. It's features are great looks, great simplicity and good sound.

Every time i've used this at a jam night people were impressed with the clarity and definition. It's a bit forward and aggressive, but it has loads of output to drive the amp, and doesn't get muddy or really shrill. Obviously it's a perfect punk axe, but I also find it great for more aggressive Ska, rock and it even works well for blues. Use a good amp and compare it to a classic like a Les paul or a Tele and it does lack a little in 'tone', but the clarity and bite are great

needed a little work to be spot on (intonation, action height to suit me), but has not needed any significant work. I always spend some time moving stuff around to get it feeling right for me anyway.

Has developed a small crack in the neck pocket, but this appears to only be paint as the neck is still rock solid. So little can go wrong that it should last years

Fender Europe are lovely chaps and always very helpful. I got these when the entire UK allocation was back ordered for over a year ; this was returned ex-demo from a show, so they called me and let me have it at a knock down price. Top boys !

I've been playing since about 1989, and have had many guitars. I finally realised that I don't need trems, as hard tails just sound better and I don't play up the dusty end so masses of frets don't impress me. I'd rather have one good sound than 15 combinations of mediocrity. Concentrate on using your fingers to get the sounds you want ; it may even improve your playing !

The guitar nearly looks like every other strat and when i first saw it, i thought i was just another strat too but when my frend got one n let me try n showed me the details and all, i bought one right away. the unique part of this guitar is that it only has one pickup n one knob.

I've been playing 10 years. I play punk, metal, raw rock n' roll, and soaring guitar solos and it's perfect. I can nail anything from Van Halen, AC/DC, Offspring, Ramones, Metallica and Green Day. The invader pickup is by far the best pickup I have ever used. I even installed one on my Fender Big Apple Strat, and it still sounds amazing - but the Delonge model still sounds fuller. I think it is due to the lightweight body and the string through bridge. (The tremolo bridges add a lot of weight and you loose some sustain). To this day, I am amazed at how versatile this guitar is - yet the ironic thing is that it's just One Volume and One Pickup. I guess Less really is MORE. I currently play through a Fender Stage 100 combo - no effect pedals - just straight through the amp. Remember - Less is MORE.

Action can be set up on any guitar to fit your taste. The finish appears very strong and looks perfect. The neck is very smooth, nice job on the edges. Guitar was built very well. I have heard people complain about the tuners because they are "vintage style" but I have had NO problems. Stays in tune very well. I have played guitars with Locking Tuners and such, and there's no difference in my opinion. Awesome quality guitar!! It's a shame Tom Delonge left Fender. Some people might hesitate because it's made in Mexico - but you all have nothing to worry about. Mexico builds some kick A** Fenders.

:

Very durable. No problems. I've played gigs without a backup before, but it sucks when you break a string and people have to wait for you to change it. So I recommend bringing a back-up regardless. But for quality - I don't think you will have a problem with the guitar breaking down or falling apart. I have never had a problem - just broke a string which is typical.

As a guitarist, I have the "bug" to keep looking for the perfect Guitar and the perfect Sound. I truly believe this is the perfect guitar for me. The sound is just something you have to hear to believe. It has life to it, and harmonics, and just soars. The body is comfortable and lightweight. Neck is smooth. I own a Fender Big Apple and two Fender Stratosonics. I have owned Telecasters, a Schecter, Fender Custom Shop Showmaster and Gibson Les Paul Junior. Sure, you can still rock out on those guitars, but the Tom Delonge model just brings life to your music. I continue to shop around for a guitar that might be better than this one - but honestly I have YET to find one better. Oh, and the price for this guitar is outstanding. It's worth every penny, I just wish I bought more. I'm hoping to find another one soon - just not sure which color. I have the Daphne Blue one.

Fender Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocastor....its cool. I've been playing about a year so i dont have that much experience but its a fun instrument to play. For all the dumb ass' out there who say its for the stupid 12 year old kids who quit after a week, STFU. i started when i was 12(im 13 now) its cuz of this guitar that i became a devoted guitar player. Its good for beginners bcuz wen youre starting you don't give a shit about the tone or all the knobs u cud have. You just wanna learn some fucking songs! which is what i did. Alot of ppl say this guitar is a piece of shit, but thats cuz they seem to think its gunna have a bunch of other crap on it. When you buy this guitar expect what Fender says it has on it. Dont think its gunna be like a Gibson, cuz its not. There could be a few more knobs, but hey its made to be simple. Its also great for the price you pay. Obviously if you're looking at buying this you can't afford something much better. for the beginners...ITS GREAT

I like the sound. It fits the punk/pop or just punk sound im into. If you're looking to play ACDC or Led Zeplin try something else, the sound on this guitar is too loud, sorta noisy and whiny. If you dont like that sound get something else. As for me i love the way that sounds so i think its awesome. Those miny amps sound like crap with this guitar, they do on any guitar but especially on this one. You get what you paid for when it comes to sound, nothing more or less.

The colour and pick guard are absolutely sick!! On mine they both had a real smooth finish with no flaws. Wood was pretty nice too. My friend has a squire which has a disgusting finish. Theres air bubbles and crap everywhere!
Only thing is the way the pickup sorta falls into the body. Its not a real problem for me but it could screw you up if you were playing sloppily.

Its got a great durability. FANTASTIC! My sister dropped it when she was "playing" it(she cant play for shit)and it looked like nothing happened. In the past year or so ive had it theres a scratch on the back about a cm long from my metal belt. The acoustic i have got a dent from that belt.
Its a pretty solid guitar that you can rely on. If doing a gig I'd still bring a backup, i only have another shitty Robinson and acoustic but i wouldnt be worried about having to use them.

Ive been playing a year or so. Also own an acoustic and Robinson, The fender beats the shit out of them. No surprise there. If it were lost or stolen id try to get the same one. Not sure if I'd still be able to find it though. Of course I'd rather have Tom's signature Gibson but i can't afford that, this is next best. Theres nothing i hate about it. I LOVE the way it looks though and the sounds cool too. This is AWESOME for a beginner and also great for anyone else whos into the whole punk scene.

Hi I dont own the guitar but have played it at a pawn shop in
Des Moines, IA. it is fucking awsome!!! from what i know this was made in mexico and sounds and plays awsome. just to let people of the general public know, that just becuase it was made in mexico does not make it bad. (i have a mexican made strat and it sucks ass, i have never seen or heard anyhting else as bad as it.) now compare that to Tom's model. Tom's is about 21 times better. it has 21 jumbo frets, one invader pickup by seymour duncan, one volume knob. NOT MUCH ELSE TO SAY IT IS A (FENDER) STRAT AND (FENDER) STRATS RULE BEYOUND EVERYTHING ELSE (IN PLAYING) AND DEPENDING ON THE MODEL CAN SOUND GOOD FOR ANYTHING AND OR EVERYTHING! it has every thing you need to play evrything. sounds awsome dirty and to play clean do what the man (ZAKK WILDE) does have the amp set dirty and a pedal for more edge. so just kick off the pedal and roll off the volume on the guitar(THAT IS WHAT IT IS THERE FOR)
THAT MESSAGE IS FOR ALL OF THE DUMB ASSES THAT SAID THAT IT CANT DO CLEAN. AND FOR THE JAZZ GUY---WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT. DID YOU JUST GO INTO THE STORE AND BUY IT WITHOUT TRYING, STUPID MOTHER FUCKER. IT CAN WORK WELL FOR WHAT YOU DO JUST ROLL OFF THE VOLUME KNOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT! It is awsome. i played it through a Dean Markely amp and it went from smooth jazz to slight edge of country to ALT (the best kind of music esp. the 90's) to hard rock into thrash, and finnally into a burning ring of metal fire. remember that was a tweed
master volume amp made by dean markely. hahahaha
very lush and rich (if a lean thin mex/jap tele copy was dog dung. then this is pecan pie).
noise, WHAT!! what all guitars have noise this had no more noise than any others and if yours does buy a MXR/DUNLOP (the Best) noise gate.
i love everything about this guitar.

this guitar definately suits hard rock, punk and even heavy metal...but i hafta admit it sounds questionable wen i tried to play some Chuck Berry and the Beatles stuff....it has a rich thick sound even through my shitty no name amps..js the rite sounds for pop punk stuff from blink 182 and Green Day...which is a good thing bcoz pop-punk is still by far my fav genre although im slowli being influenced by jazz, metal and rock n roll...despite this, the guitar in a way lacks variety...but i dunt mind as i love the sound of distortion through this guitar!

P.S Old skool stuff such as jazz , rock n rol and funk is coolz but please dunt dis punk bcoz its easier to play....its all about being catchy!..u dun need to play 5 minute solos to be good:D!..anyway cheers...i know i get shit form osme old guy saying im a fag!

My Tom DeLonge Stratocaster was made in 2002, in Mexico, this is the only place they made these guitars, if you research, this isn't the EXACT guitar Tom uses or did use, his was made at the Fender Custom Shop in California and had some differences. It is the closest you can get though :) they are now out of production and are rare to come across and Tom has got a Gibson signature model now.
21 Frets, One Volume knob, single Seymour Duncan Invader Pick Up, Alder body with Maple neck and Rosewood fretboard, String-Through body Vintage Hardtail bridge. Vintage tuners Jumbo frets i believe. Comes with Gig bag. Not alot of features, but if you like simplicity from a humbucker and don't want to mess around with controls these rule.

Ok. All i need to say is Blink-182 are a pop-punk or power-pop band. This guitar was made for that style. So when you come on complaining about how crap this guitar is for your dads jazz band, why didn't you research into who's signature guitar this is? Did you expect loads of tonal variation from a single volume nob and humbucker? Why didn't you think about what style of music Tom Delonge plays, and find out it's the total opposite to your fathers style. I'm pretty sure not many people would spend $750 or #500 on a guitar that they didn't know anything about. Did you try it out in the store??? Man, some people... Neway,
for pop-punk and power pop this guitar is great. It gives a nice bright tone and great distortion when played through a marshall or mesa boogie. I havn't tested it in anything else apart from a Crate amp and it sounded fine in that to. I will admit that if you wanna play anything apart from power chords and distorted songs, then this guitar won't be the best. But was it made for blues solos? Was it made to be played on clean? No, so if you want blues solos and a clean guitar, go and buy a single coil american strat or something. For it's style this guitar is great :)

I havce heard people say the pick up falls into the body but i have had no problems. Everything was pretty much fitted fine just had to tweak a few things like the action (height of the strings) but this depends on where you buy it from. Fine.

Made for throwing around and jumping around on stage. Will definately last for years to come. Great Surf Green finish, totally surf style, mint. I would use it without a backup for sure. P.S i have seen a video where this guitar breaks and tom delonge smashes it, but that's the only time i've ever known it not withstand live playing.

Great guitar for it's style, shame they don't make them anymore, would get many people into playing guitar, mainly kids like tom delonge, they won't really have the #1500 ($2500?) to buy his new gibson, and that isn't really too different in tone to this. (He uses effects pedals on the new album, yes, that isn't the standard tone of his guitar) :)
Have fun if you play one!

this guitar suits a wide range of rock, and blues and has a pretty decent clean channel . i play anything from blink-182, green day and metallica and it sounds awesome for all. i use a Laney HC50R amp with a RP50 digital effects processor and it sounds awesome. this guitar sounds really good on marshall and randall amps. the pickups arent noisy at all, no matter how loud you turn it up. it has a real good heavy distortion for punk and metal
