Made in Mexico, 21 frets, typical Standard Strat body and neck. Only one pickup. At least there was a case included (for 800 bucks there bloody well should be). The neck "looks" like maple, but its probably the same shit they have on those desks in high schools.

Sound : 1
Oh man this thing is brutal. Playing this is the equivalent to a complete rectal examination. The one pickup sounds like it was soldered together with molten plastic. Fender really buggered up on this one. I played it through a Mesa Boogie Roadking (beautiful amp) with Fulltone Fulldrive effects pedal, and the damned thing still sounded brutal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Again, this thing is dogshit. I own 2 other Fenders, an SRV Sig and an Yngwie Malmsteen sig, and this does not even compare. The "Duncan Invader" pickup was so poorly mounted that I had to strip down the guitar and re-reroute everything. Seriously, go out and buy yourself a Squier Bullet, and it will sound and play better than this hunk of crap.

Reliability/Durability : 7
It is a Fender, so I do expect it would hold up, which is pretty much all this crap-stick has going for it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Fender since they usually make good products. I'd like to hear the excuse they have for this one though.

Overall Rating : 1
Utter crap. I play blues, jazz, progressive rock and some metal. I bought this guitar for my son because he'd been bitching at me so god damned much, and I didn't want another visit from Child Welfare. Ive been playing for 20+ years, and this is the worse attempt at a guitar I have ever seen. If you ever consider buying this thing, take a step back, pull your head out of your ass, and look at a Standard Stratocaster.

Note to punk rockers: learn to actually SOLO, then yod may actually realize that punk rock blows, as does everything associated with it.

dunno when it was made, 21 frets, 1 volume, 1 seymour duncan invader pick up, locking tuners, no gig bag for me >:( but academy of sound still rules

Sound : 10
look let me set it straight to all those morrons who put bad reviews, if you wanted to play jazz on your guitar you should have bought an epiphone, and did that twat who said he set fire to it even play it in the shop, its got an amazing rich sound even through my crappy 15 watt fender amp, and it is fucking noisy what do you expect.
I like everything about it seeing as i dont use any other pickup than the bridge one on any guitar so it rules. good for almost anything maybe apart from jazz. but only old men play jazz so there!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
erm mine had obvisouly been in the shop for a while but it oply cost 270 quid on the reduced section so i cant complain!, at first i liked the daphne blue coulour more but when i bought the surf green one i liked that finish more!Oh and E string locking tuner broke a week after i got it but they replaced it so there's no problem here.

Reliability/Durability : 10
if it wouldnt withstand playing why the fuck did tom delonge use it before he got is shitty new gibson?, the finish is really a good paint job, i would use it at a gig without a back up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
i havent contacted them but its fender for fucks sake! so i suppose it would be good

Overall Rating : 9
i have been playing lik 2 years and im 13 now, if you want this guitar get it quick as its been discontinued and dont listen to the bad reviews unless your some old man who plays the saxaphone and wants to play guitar but other wise listen to me :)

basic stuff, but i was hoping it would be enough,.....not on this ,..
i don t think anything could help.

Sound : 1
it has to be ,(in over 35 years of playing),the most lifeless axe
ive ever played on.yes i know it was not made for jazz,i play all kinds of styles from blues to jazz to punk to old metel... but it
bloody sounds awfull fer anything .if people think its good for
punk,......they should compare it side by side to any other guitars
and if up against a good strat or any gibson, ibanez ,etc.,it will
be so obvious that ,...well..........

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
was o k ,nothing special

not an axe for me at all.i think the guy who lit it on fire and threw
it is on the right track of what its really good for. sorry blink
fans ,this axe sucks big time.

You know the deal...Seymour Duncan invader humbucker, one 500k volume pot, vintage tuners, 70's headstock, deluxe neck, hardtail. Mine is daphine blue... only because i got a good deal on it. Not that i dont like it but i play more "agressive" punk than blink-182. Yellow would have been a much better choice but this one was used and had character. No real comlaints the retro color reminds me of the 50's.

Sound : 9
Well this is going to be biased for a few reasons. For starters i actually LIKE the SD Invader humbucker and have it in my Epi S-210 as well. Im running the TD through a JCM 900 SL-X 2500 head and Mesa/boogie 2-12 3/4th back custom cab with Black shadow celestions. An all tube amp really makes this guitar come alive!! Like i said i play punk but with metalish lead runs al-a Thrice and this guitar/amp combo works great for it. When i need a different (lighter/thinner) sound i use the single coils in my epi or one of my other "traditional" guitars. I dont mess with guitar tone controls much since my amp is very capable of drasticly changing the tone so i didnt need 2 tone control pots. As far as the guitars natural sound it is full and thick... the highs are not like an icepick so thats a good thing in my book.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I got this guitar used.... The action was set as high as possible and had the crappiest strings you could think of on it. It wasnt taken very good care of (probably some 16 year old had it)... a little rusted and some dents on the headstock probably from cymbol bashing. The previous owner put a hurley sticker on the back of the headstock (cool) and wrote, i assume the bands name, "out of town!" on the back of the body in magic marker looks like a girl did it which is allmost gone now. Anyway the fit and finish was otherwise acceptable for a retail mid priced fender. Im giving it a 9 for what it is not what was done to it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Hey its a Fender! That alone commands respect. Everything on this guitar is solid and would stand being dropped, thrown, and whatever else you could throw at it. I allways have other guitars and a backup amp when i go out to shows but if i only had this guitar id feel confident that it would get me thru the gig. A solid 9. 10's are for the holy grail of guitars and i havent found it yet probably never will.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them but im sure they are better than korg (Marshall's USA distributor)

Overall Rating : 9
Well im Going on 21 now and started playing when i was around 14-15 on a Vantage Avenger guitar. So, what thats about 6-7 years? I have no regrets about buying this guitar other than MAYBE the color since it doesnt fit darker punk but the guitar itself certianly does as well as lighter pop punk. If it were stolen (probably wont happen considering the stigma surrounding buying a "pop punk" guitar) id try to track down another one and pay an exorbaint price for it since fender no longer makes it. Overall its a good solid guitar that will withstand years of abuse. If your thinking about getting one go ahead and get it.

The Tom Delonge Fender Strat features your standard punk setup. You get a 70's Strat headstock, with a seymour duncan invader pickup, and one volume knob.
It has your basic strat look. The neck is actually easy to whip up and down. I mean it is not a Jackson but still great. When I say it is'nt a Jackson just so nobody's confused I mean the neck. It has a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. You get a gigbag with it. As most of you know the item was made in Mexico, but it does'nt seem that way. It has been discontinued, so don't go to guitarcenter and ask for one. And it's a deluxe series guitar. Plus, the invader really screams. Overall if your looking for a punk setup it's great. And just as a tip I got mine in yellow. In my opinion daphne blue is gay, either get a yellow one, a green one, and even maybe the black one.

Sound : 10
I play punk music, and this guitar should get a room with punk music that's all it's made for. I work this guitar with a Fender reverb amp and a Dod 30 effect pedals. I dont mainly use the effects, but every now and then I make up a song using them. My amp settings are at low 3 mid 6 and high 9. It's your loud obnoxious guitar you've been waiting for. And all the people who said it sucks are fucking stupid, you dont buy this guitar so you can play jazz. Although if you put your amp or effects just right it works. Another thing I love about this guitar is how different it is in an amplifier. Like if you were to walk into guitacenter looking for a punk guitar and you played this without an amp you'd think it was'nt the guitar you were looking for. It sounds almost like an acoustic without an amp. But with one the seymour duncan pickup just screams. If you want to sound like blink or any punk band pick this up. But for all you idiots out there if you want to have a jazzmaster dont buy this guitar and then complain about how it sucks.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I got the guitar brand new and everything seems to be perfect, although I'm not gonna lie I have heard they made a lot of bad ones, just dont go buying it unless you've seen it. I keep my in a gigbag, and eventually in a nice hard case. But overall just inspect what your buying. If you buy it on the internet like ebay which I did, and dont see enough pictures, ask for more. Nine out of ten times they'll give you some. DONT EVER BUY ANYTHING OFF EBAY WITHOUT PICS, I never have but the chances are your buying bullshit.

Reliability/Durability : 9
My thinking is if the guitar could'nt stand live playing why would Tom use it live. It seems like it will last a long time too. The strap buttons are solid although I plan to get straplocks. Basically, if you have a second guitar that is nice you have to be stupid not to bring it. But yes I would trust this at a gig. When I play with my band I play hard, and I have'nt had a problem. I play even harder live.

Customer Support : 10
I got it off ebay brand new never played, and he was'nt lying, when I got it was untouched. I got it one week later when I was on my way to practice with my band it came in so I turned around and got it. My band loved the guitar aswell. No warranty, but the seller was great.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm not old at all I'm only 12 and a half, and I play in a punk band as lead guitarist. If it was stolen or lost I'd get it again in Yellow or green. What I love about this guitar is Tom kept it simple. I love the Invader pickup, and there's nothing I hate. I also have a Jackson EX Stealth Pro. and that guitar works better with other music,so when we practice it's always a great thing for a backup or another guitar. I play on a fender reverb amp w/ dod 30 effects pedals. I use to use my effects mainly on distortion with my Jackson but I will never need them with this guitar. I play with my amp settings at low 3, mid 6, and high 9 Basically If you love blink and if you want to know how Tom makes those kick ass riffs get this guitar. But dont expect the guitar to do the work you still have do be a good player.

Invader humbucker, volume, tone. 22 frets-not alot going for it. (Tom Delonge licks balls.)

Sound : 1
The invader humbucker was a thourough dissapointment. It doesn't have much bite or trash, its a more or less a piece of shit. Unfortunately, its the only pickup on the guitar so you're pretty much stuck with it. The guitar has no variety (none), it can do some low key rock and punk. One of the reviewers claimed they played jazz on this guitar--they are either deaf or autistic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
Ghetto.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Its a fender so it is realiable and durable, which is actually frustrating because it means its harder to break when I slam the guitar into the concrete next time I see it. Tom Delonge is a douchebag.

Customer Support : 10
Fender is straight. Tom Delonge is gay.

Overall Rating : 2
Don't waste money on this guitar, either save up and buy a US Highway strat or cut down and buy a standard fat strat to get the humbucker tone. This guitar is a waste of money and is basically a standard srat stripped down and pissed on. Tom Delonge is a fag regardless, and his guitar sucks. Peace

mexican made 2001 or 2003?..w/e idk....i bought it for 480 new..no gigbag...those fuckers....1 volume....1 seymour duncan invader humbucker...21 jumbo frets....70s style headstock.....rosewood fretboard.....but i do agree with many of you ppl bc this guitar doesnt have alot of features...but if tom wanted it that way he wouldve so..dont complain you bought the fucking guitar

Sound : 9
it suits my style perfectly...i play pop emo/punk as well as any blink song ever recorded....its never noisy in any situation that ive used it....im using a peaving amp...but for live stuff...im using 2 EAWs and some TOAs...so...im not positive its gunna be the same for th rest of you...i liked everythign about the sound...its nice and deep

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
the guitar was PERFECT when i got it......but now the only thing i dont like is that the volume knob comes loose...but otherwise great...finish is amazing no scratchs at all or anything

Reliability/Durability : 10
this guitar will outlive me....its great for when im playing alone or live, the strap buttons were fine until i put straplocks on....only bc i made a 500 dollar investment ...dont wanna test it on a 5 dollar strap...i would def use it w/o ne back up...my squier isnt ne thing compared to this guitar

Customer Support : No Opinion

you're hardly buying it for the vast array of features are you? its not what this guitar is about. i'm gonna give the features here a high mark because they are perfect for what this guitar is about which is a no nonsence plug in and rock guitar.

Sound : 8
Fat, smooth and powerful is how i'd describe this guitar. sounds great thru the lead channel of my marshall dsl head. really fat distorted sounds found here. sounds great for rock, punk, and emo. on clean settings the pick up does want to distort a bit more thanid like, due to its high out put but the sound is really nice. I also want to say the neck on this guitar is AMAZING. best ive played, really fast, slim neck, its just beautiful.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
bit of a let down here. the screws on the bridge were set really high and continually scratched my hands til i had shorter screws put in. really hard for pain free palm muting...hardly ne good on a guitar aimed at punks! the action however was gorgeous.not too low, not too high. brilliant. the finish was perfect, really nice.the volume know keeps dropping off tho and has to be constantly tightened which sucks. rest of guitar however was fine...nice frets, nut, etc.

Reliability/Durability : 7
this thing is built really solid, like most fenders its gonna take a battering. i've abused it onstage and its pretty hard to mark the finish. had it over a year and it still looks great. this guitar will last a looooonngg time. really solid. my concern tho is the electronics. during practice once, the pick up cut out and sounded really nasty. i took it for repair and it was a loose wire! what's that about?! let down an otherwise brilliant guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
i love the playability of this guitar the most. the neck is amazing, it just begs to be played for hours on end! i love the daphne blue finish, large headstock. its a beautiful guitar.i guess with the price of this guitar is aimed at the 'higher standard' epiphone end of the market but its so much better than that. compared to other #400 guitars this guitar kicks ass.

1 passive Duncan invader, 1 volume knob. hardly an array of features, how can you give it a '10'?
Dont know what the bodys made of, prob balsa wood or MDF.

Sound : 2
Sounds like a leper being spanked with a large wet kipper. Add some overdrive and it souns like a kipper being spanked by a large wet leper. I normally use it through Mesa Boogie Roadking and it sounds about as aggresive as Julian Clarey on prozac. Il give it a '2'instead of a 1 cos it sounded quite nice when i set fire to it and threw it offstage.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Seemed like it was set up by a blind, atonal bricklayer with no hands. or face. The pickup was alright, shame it was wasted on such an awful guitar, so i ripped it out and put an active emg in it to try and improve the sound, unfortunately it onlymade it louder, amplifying the guitars lack of tone and dynamics.

Reliability/Durability : 1
I would never be seen dead with this guitar, and only bought it cos i had read it was good for its price bracket. I doubt it would withstand live playing, feels about as solid as you would expect from a guitar designed to the specifications of a complete pussy wannabe punk guitarist who hasnt been weaned off breastfeeding yet.
Didnt seem to take too well to me setting fire to it and throwing it against a wall.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didnt bother, im sure fender r pretty decent wen it comes to dealing with complaints, but with this guitar its really not worth it.

Overall Rating : 1
I have played better squier bullets.
Want a real guitar - buy an ESP.

An Awesome Invader Humbucker (OOOHH YAA)
Chorm Volume Knob is nice
And the volume pot or whatever its called is really effective too.
Fast Action neck
22 Frets
I love the Surf Green paint job it got!

Sound : 10
This guitar suits almost any style not sure for jazz, I play mostly rock and punk.
I play it using a Peavey Bandit 112 and let me just say it sounds so freakin awesome. The modern distortion that I use with my amp has never sounded any better with any guitar except my tom.
Usually never noisy
Its FULL of sound and its very bright!
Theres just one tone but if its a tone you like you'll like it.
Nothing disliked about it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action on mine is high and I like it that way, its not that great once above the 15th fret but I usually am not into going that high anyway.
The pickup was adjusted just fine.
DO NOT sit there and keep touching the pickup. It rest on a spring and it will come loose and then you have to take the pickguard off and stuff.
Just don't fuck around with the pickup alot and you'll be fine.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've bumped into all kinds of things and still not a SINGLE scratch.
Its very strong.
My straps stay on just fine.
Right now its my number one guitar and I'll never need a backup for this.

Warranty is suppose to be lifetime but i never did deal with it so..

I've been playing for 2 1/2 years
I own a Squire Strat which is OK
My amp is a Peavey Transtube Bandit 112, LOVE that thing!!!
If it were stolen I'd so buy it again.
I love it cuz its design to just plug in and start playing your heart out!
