Mine was made in 2001 in MEXICO!!!! of course, 21 frets just like a lot of vintage strats and teles, solid top, one chrome volume knob (wich looks really good),one invader in the bridge, alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, nice black paintjob, hard tail, vintage tuners (just like the ones used on the fender jaguar, they keep in tune no matter how hard you bend the strings), it come with a gig bag but i also bought a case, i'll give it a ten because of the vintage vibe
Sound

really good for punk rock, rock and roll and some blues, i use a fender hot rod deluxe and the marshall dsl401, with distortion it can sound harder than pantera and overdriven you can cool leads

sucky factory setup, but i could fix that quickly, if you lower the pickups it sounds even better

i'm planning on buying a standard tele and put seymour duncan hot rails on the bridge because i don't like to play live without any backup, specially because i break a lot of strings, it would de nicer if it had strap locks

not a whole lot for features, one pickup, one volume knob. other people have gone into detail about this, so i won't bother. i will, however, mention that what the you should leave this guitar in it's case if you're looking for versatility. absolutely no clean sound. that's right. i read it when people said, but i was thinking "i've got a twin, no clean sound?!" but they were right. the guitar still gets a 4 because the one sound it does get kicks.
Sound
:

the clean sound i mentioned earlier that's not so clean still serves a nice purpose. think....weezer "say it ain't so", very harsh gritty type deal. not at all unusable, just not clean. the dirty sound, like i said, kicks. pretty fat. can be muddy, just learn to work an amp. nice and round, hint of twang, easy to achieve beautiful, screeching, raunchy, ear-splitting feedback--what's not to love.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

action could be better. finish is nice, looks a lot smoother than the other daphne blue strat i owned. everything appears to be in order. lighter than my telecaster, but sounds heavier. how about that....

only owned it for 5 and a half hours, so i can't attest to it's reliability. but it's a fender guitar, and i've never had a problem with any of theirs.

i've played for almost 3 years in about a month. i've been through a ton of gear: 3 different strats, an epiphone sheraton, a telecaster, a washburn guitar, a pair of fernandes guitars, 2 les paul studios, 3 small practice amps, a 30 watt crate amp, a hot rod 212, a jcm 900. and about a dozen different effects pedals. my current rig consists of a two guitars: an american telecaster and this delonge strat, which run through a boss ds-1 (which SUCKS), which then goes to a fender twin reverb. beautiful setup, beautiful noise. what else?
oh yeah, if you call what you play "punk rawk" you should stop.

I think it was made in like 2000 or something. Made in Mexico. 21 medium-jumbo frets. Hard tail brigde. One Seymour Duncan Invader pickup. I dont get why people get all butt hurt cause there only one pickup. Eddie Van Halen did the same thing he just had one pickup on some of his guitars and he's like the guitar god!!! It doesnt have a lot but it sounds awsome.

I play punk, 80's rock, and a little bluesish type stuff. I use a little crappy practice amp and a Marshall MG250DFX and it sounds so frinking awsome through both. You just gotta know how to set the knobs on the amp and it will sound awsome. The sound is just great for any music. Clean to distored. Jazz to Punk Rock. It could be use to play anything and it would still sound f*cking awsome.

The action is awsome. I can solo on it easily. The finish is great. One thing that botherd me it that little piece of wood on the back of the neck popped out a little bit, but i just took very fine sand paper to it and fixed that. I'm just giving it an 8 becuase of the little piece of wood sticking out. I've played other ones and the weren't like that.

Yes it will withstand live playing. Hell it already has for me. Tom Delonge plays the hell out of these things so I'm sure it will last. I've had mine for over a year now and I practice a lot. The hardware will last, its lasted this far. I suggest getting the strap buttos that clip your strap on because you don't wanna drop this thing. I can depend on it. I would gig with out a back up but i don't just in case.

I've been play for about 4-5 years. I'm good enough to get paid for it. I can solo on command and it will still sound good. I wish i asked I could have one from the back. Because i got the floor model and it had been use just a little but not too much. If it were stolen i would cry cause my Tom Delonge Strat is my life and I would be another. I love how it sounds awsome. I dont hate anything about it. I love the Invader pickup on it. I compared it to other guitars and I still chose this one. I think i might get a neck pickup on it just because i dont know why but just because.

This guitar doesn't really have too many features considering the whole concept of it was to keep it as basic as possible but it does have a string thru body, one seymour duncan invader pickup, one volume/tone knob and a nice solid paint job.

So far the sound that I can get from this guitar fits my needs perfectly. I haven't really messed around with it to much since I have only played it on my amp once. I play mostly punk like Blink, Taking Back Sunday, The Movielife, Rufio, Finch and Senses Fail. I also play in drop d. So far...so good

The action on the neck of the guitar is great. Very fast and smooth. The pickup is great. What more could you ask for besides a Seymour Duncan Invader?

First off, I'm 35 and the only thing I know about Blink or Delonge is that my teenage daughter loves them. I bought this guitar for it's own merits as an instrument.
I bought a Delonge strat in surf green last year. The Duncan Invader is just a killer pickup, and is IMO the best pickup out there for heavy music in a bright guitar like a strat; thickens it up nicely. I actually have a custom Warmoth strat with an Invader in it already, so oddly enough I didn't buy the Delonge for that feature.
I like the 50's colors (surf green and daphne blue), the hard tail, the large CBS headstock, and medium jumbo frets like the USA models (because the Delonge is part of the deluxe MIM series it has the better frets) - all options not available together in one package except from the custom shop and that's too much $$. So I yanked the pickguard assembly out (it's got the regular H/S/S routing underneath by the way) and I first used Fender custom shop fat 50's on pearloid, and then an EMG DG-20 in it. I ended up selling it but regret doing so, so now I just ordered another one in Daphne blue and it's getting another EMG DG-20 setup. Check this link for a picture of my first fat 50's modded Delonge in surf green.
Bottom line is don't be turned off because this is a sig model and you don't like or know Delonge/Blink. This is a great guitar with some cool features and is a prime candidate for hot rodding. Incidentally, the only reference to being a sig or to Delonge is his name engraved on the neck plate (easily remedied with a new $5 neck plate and the twist of 4 screws). Other than that, it just says it's a deluxe series stratocaster.

I gave this Strat a 7 on features because of its lack of variable tone. i mean by that it only has one pickup and volume knob. it doesnt cover that good of an amount of the tonal spectrum. but on a nice note, the pickup it has is a friggin' monster! this strat is amazing at what it is built for...PUNK!!!, (it also works really well for 80's metal and AC/DC.

I play punk, my setup is a Tommy D. (Tom DeLonge) strat through a ProCo RAT-2 into a crate GFX-212T.This strat goes above and beyond, its monstrous Seymour Duncan Invader provides bone-rattling distortion, although cleans on it can get very muddy, so on your amps clean channel my suggestion would be to turn the lows to about three or four o'clock the mids to about six o'clock and the trebles to about anywhere for seven to ten o'clock. anyways, when you dial in distortion it is totally smooth, and crunch on that strat is god-like. theres really no over-abundance of noise unless you put the distortion to about nine to ten o'clock. the sound i get from this strat is so meaty and full. although as i said before the huge pickup does come at a cost to your trebles. This strat is the best punk guitar i have ever played, and it comes in awesome colors. the only thing i dont like about it is when i hit the pickguard, since the body is semi-hollow it makes an anoying noise. but when the amp is on you cant really hear it.

I have played this guitar at the store. The features are very bad. This guitar does nothing. Punk rock is stupid, Blink182 sucks, Tim Delongey or whatever his name is, is not a real guitarist. Punk rock players aren't real guitarists, they are lazy! All you have to do is learn a few power chords. This guitar has 1 pickup and 1 knob. Let me tell ya the tone is just great. So in other words it is a piece.

It doesn't suit my style. I play real music. I don't fool around with joke bands like blink182 and all those punk acts. The sound is very bad. There is no variety of sound, it is a punk rock guitar, everything in punk is the same:all the songs sound the same, all the band members dress like they are out of a Dr. Seus book! They are the goofiest looking musicians. When I first saw New Found Glory I thought I was watching a Cat in the Hat film.

Features - If you don't know, then kill yourself. I got a black one. It has a hard tail and a humbucker. I got sick of Floyd Rose crap so this is what I wanted. Not a lot of features, but it is enough for me. Came with Fender Deluxe Gig Bag and the price was right. Very cool 70's headstock, and the tuners are'nt as bad as people act.

Invader is hot as hell with out being active. (I don't like active pickups because I hate changing batteries) It has a nice thick sound that is great to hear coming out of a Fender for a change. Brutal palm mutes and pick slides. No guitar I have ever played gets a 10 however, so another 8 it is.

Factory setup left something to be desired, however they did put decent gauged strings on, something most factories don't do anymore. Any guitar needs a decent setup, I highly recommend learning how to do it so you can be independent of a guitar tech. Pickup adjusted about right. Lowered to reduce feedback. Setup much better than a Gibson Explorer I just purchased.

Got a hell of a deal. Bought it as a Blem or Scratch and Dent from Musicians Friend. I had done this once before and got a guitar that was beat to hell and covered in dust. This guitar came in the original Fender box completely factory sealed and glued. Guess someone in the MF warehouse screwed up. Oh well, my turn to get back at them. My rating is for what I paid for it.
