This is a simple guitar - one pickup, two knobs, jack etc. Its far from your floyd rose sustainer jobbies. But thats why I wanted it. I use a reasonably large pedal board and I wanted to have a one pickup guitar so i didn't have to think about what I was doing with the guitar as well. It gets a low rating but thats the nature of it, and why I like it.

Sound : 8
This was a huge surprise. My plan had always been to take the pickup out straight away and slap in a humbucker sized p90. Yet having played it a while there is no way I'd do that now. The alnico II humbucker is superb, wonderful clean but comes into its own for vintage rock and roll - its just superb. Through my peavey valveking it can go from almost telecaster bright to mids-dominated rock (where I prefer it) to pointlessly muffled as well if you're so inclined. Either way, the tone pot gives quite a bit of response. It even sounds good through my long signal chain when Im not just in front of the amp.
The through-body string anchoring also really helps to max the sustain out of this thing. The tuners aren't bad either

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
This is what puts people off about this guitar. Everytime I look at it, it looks like a toy. The fret board is not the nicest colour rosewood (it looks like its been wood stained too) and the pickup is moulded from plastic and looks childish. Luckily this one has a better shaped pickguard than advertised (otherwise that would have been recut straight away).
Yet when it comes to playing it however all is well. The neck is actually responsive - a little wide but nothing unfathomable. The action was perfect from the box and hasn't been changed at all to my recollection.
If there was one critism its fret dressing which are a little sharp, and the end of the fret board looks unfinished and a bit of wooden slab. Also, taking the back panel off there was a bit of a mess in terms of the cavity cut and was a bit grubby. However, none of these things impact on playing which has been great.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Had it a while but not giged it. Dented it a few times but its taken everything I can give it. I can't see any reason not to gig with it, it feels more solid than many guitars I've tried (and a couple that I own too!) I'd take a backup just in case but this is the guitar I'd least expect to mess up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not had to use them, but a warranty card is included for a year I think. So you can rest soundly.

Overall Rating : 9
The best thing about this guitar is the price. I got it as a present from my girlfriend after I was deliberating on it for a while. It was ??50 only !!! Its incredible value for money. The pick up alone is worth that. Its insane value for money. More importantly its very playable. I have several other guitars including a much more expensive Ibanez and this guitar is now seeing more use than the Ibanez because its so simple and playable.
I've been playing nearly ten years now just casually and know my way around gear. This is not just a beginners guitar. It will suit a range of styles because its so simple.
I orignally got this as I fell in love with a Gibson LP JR and couldn't afford it. Now I wouldn't see why I'd want the Gibson. This gives me a great sound and a lot of fun and Im not tip toeing around it everytime I get it out of its case.
For a budget guitar (and I've tried a few) that you can just play and get a good result from, I can't recommend anything better

First Off, i bought this guitar because my band decided to write some songs in C tuning, i didnt want to buy a baritone guitar, i just wanted a CHEAP guitar. Knowing that first act has stepped up their game from the notorious wal-mart guitars, to some really fine high end models, i browsed their site and stumbled upon the LOLA CE120. for 80 bucks, i figured 'worth a shot'. Lets move on to the features:

22 Frets, Rosewood Fretboard, Maple neck, Les Paul Style Body, Single Humbucker Pickup, Chrome Hardware. Included were extra strings(trash) and an Instrument Cable. The body has a very nice weight, and for the price, the tuners have done their job surprisingly well, especially considering the dropped tuning.

Sound : 9
Like i said, i have it in C standard tuning. This guitar sounds BRUTAL in C. It sounded good in E but now that its dropped, its pretty radical. The style i play is progressive, so i use cleans and distortion often. I play out of a Carvin X100B. The sound is crisp and full, once again, for the price, awesome!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The guitar came and the neck was a little out of whack and the intonation was not crisp. It definitely needed work but i have ins with a great guitar tech in the area. He set the intonation, sanded the nut, beveled the outsides of the frets, and adjusted the neck. This guitar now plays superbly. If im rating it out of the box, i would give it a passable 5, but currently i would give it a 9. For the sake of reviews i will give it a 7.

Reliability/Durability : 8
As previously stated, the guitar has a great weight, and considering most of our songs are in E, this wont be my primary guitar. It should hold up though.

I have been playing for 8 Years, My primary guitar is a Parker Nitefly S/A. Of course this guitar doesnt come close to the parker, but of other guitars i have owned/still own this ranks close to the top. If only because of the value, for 80 Dollars i am honesly thinking about buying more of their guitars just to try them out. Highly recommended!
