* My style of music varies. Of course this acoustic is not meant for Rock and Roll. I am more of a Blues-ish kind of person and this guitar is perfect for that.
*I don't use any amps or effects with it.
*On a Noisy Scale, I would have to probably give it a 8, it can get pretty loud, but i've heard louder

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : 8
* I think this guitar could withstand live playing, it seems pretty durable. The finish of the guitar is pretty good though that it seems like it will last. The strap buttons appear very solid, and I feel as if I can depend on it.

Customer Support : No Opinion

*I've recently been playing alot since early april this year, and I also own the first act picks, capo, and extra strings.

*If this guitar were lost or stolen, don't get me wrong it's a great guitar... but it was my first guitar. so i would want to upgrade to a higher value guitar.

I purchased this "used" on E-bay. I assume it's a Christmas return. I was amazed to see grain in the sound hole. I think this is actually a solid top Guitar. According to the description on the box, it's Spruce top with "hardwood back and sides" Shiney finish gets dirty easy, and already has some belt buckle damage. It's "Dreadnought shape with deep body for rich, full sound..." Back is flat though. Bridge "...incorporates a proprietary First Act design to maximize bass response." I don't hear anything particularly Bass about it, but I play an Engelhardt. Tuners are covered, and chromed. The neck has a beautifully grained Rosewood fingerboard. It's a "nato" neck, whatever that means. It's nice and fat, like you'd expect from a dreadnought. Original kit includes an extra B and E string, Manual, and allen key. The manual actually has instructions for adjusting the truss rod. It cleared up the mystery for me, but I'm not sure a 12 year old student should be messing with it.

I Play Bluegrass, so #1 priority is a Loud Bang. This is just OK with a set of Light Martin SPs. I suspect it'd be better with Mediums. I bought it to learn, so the sound is just fine for me. It's not a Martin, but I'm really happy with it for less than 20 bucks. It's got a nice ring to it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Action is High out of the Factory. The molded plastic saddle had ridges, and the ball ends of the high E and G string were still in the body from where they'd cut through the strings (which is probably why the guitar was returned in the first place) Sand paper took care of the ridges, and no strings have broken on me yet. The Top is beautiful. The bridge is fine. the frets are amazingly well done for a cheap guitar. No buzz anywhere on the neck. Neck is square.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I think this will be a very solid Guitar. It was shipped to me from California in very scanty packing, and sat on my front porch for 6 hours in 40 degree weather before it was brought in, and sat without strings for 48 hours. The finish may be thin, but scratches will just add character. I'd rather not have the buttons, but can't complain about them. I'll depend on it for learning Guitar and may even take it to jams for occassions when I can't play the bass. I don't do gigs, and doubt the situation will ever come up.

I've not had to deal with customer support and don't plan to. I'm really impressed with the website though. First Act really seems to want to promote Music and Music education, and I'm all for that. The warranty is 2 years if you buy it from an "approved seller" I didn't, so it doesn't apply.

I've been playing various instruments for 25 years. This is my 5th guitar, but I've never been a "guitar player". I mainly play the "Bass Fiddle" now. I've been looking for a bluegrass capable guitar for a while now, and had never considered this brand, but couldn't pass up the 99 cent bid on eBay. I'm really glad I bid and won the auction. I dont' think i could have found anything comperable that I'd be willing to take home for less than $200. (I'd ignored the $100 price at walmart/bestbuy out of principal). I'd buy this guitar again in a heartbeat, and I actually plan on trying to win a few more. I'd love to be able to distribute them to friends I'm encouraging to learn. May favorite feature is the beautifull rosewood fingerboard. My only complaint on this guitar is the tuners are a little loose, and I'm wary of the plastic bridge pins. Those don't affect the playability any though.
