I bought this as-is from an auction. It was filthy, missing the jack socket, pickup screws and springs, which I replaced and cleaned up. This guitar looks like a Fender Jaguar with its floating tremelo but has the two single pickup configuration of a Fender Jaguar. It has a three way toggle switch and the neck is a 21 fret laminate. The body is solid wood red finish. It was built in West Germany around 72-75.

Because of its condition I had to replace the capacitor on the tone pot. It was beginning to get old and the stock capacitor lent for a muddy tone on the highs. I put a different capacitor in and added a resistor here and there. The sound is fantastic. Its bright, full/resonant and at times chiming. If your into music like The Bad Seeds, The Fall, Sonic Youth, this is it. Again without the mods it was a little dull on the highs. There is plenty of stuff online for you DIY'ers if you want to modify your sound without affecting the vintage quality or spending big $'s for new pickups.

The action was a bit high for me, I had to shim up the neck socket. The tuner keys are a bit clunky, controls were in great working order. And after adding new screws and springs for the pickups, they adjust perfectly. For its agem the frets were great, a little worn and I had to clean up the selector switch as it a bit scratchy.

This thing is over thirty years old and had been through the ringer. It has truly tested time after what seem to have long life of gigging. Would never part with it.

I've been playing for twenty some years, I've had strats, les pauls, heavy metal guitars, vintage models etc. This has been the first guitar that has is reponsive to my playing. Its bright, punchy, thin and massive sounding, It can float between sonic experimentations to county stlye picking. Its simple, basic and never goes out of tune. And seeing that I can't afford to sink thousands for a vintage Jaguar or Mustang this will do just fine.
