I have a 2002 Framus Tennessee pro and it is loaded with great electronics. It is a carved flamed maple sunburst top which is thick and beautiful. The back and sides are creved froma solid piece of really nice mahogony. The neck is a bolt on which is a plus in my book and it sits perfectly at the junction. The neck is solid Ovankol or what ever. but it s a light satin finish on the neck which is actually pretty nice and smooth, almost feels unfinished which I like. It has an ebony board with MOP inlays. Schaller tuners withFramus logo, Seymour Duncan HUMBUKs sweettunomatic style bridge. It has what I wanted and it looks Great and check out the tone.

Sound : 10
I really love this guitar./ I play mostly Jazz and a touches of Blues. I have played it thorugh a myriad of amps (polytone, fender, JC 120 and lastly acoustic image) and it never fails to sound sweet and pure, with some nice bite at times. I usually play it crystal clear, thorugh acoustic image and the Jazz tones are very very nice. It really suits my style of playing and the tone is very pleasing to me. I chose it over several other thinline hollowbodys and there was just something about this guitar. I really like these PUs and it can go from striaght out Jangly to Warm thick JAZZ.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It played wonderfully right out of the box. I ahve made no adjustments which is very very unusual for me. I am picky and the action was beautiful with excellent intonation and clarity. It is well balanced across the strings. The nut was perfectly cut, the frets are smooth and no sloppy work inside. The electronics seems solid and are of high quality. The body is built strong like a tank and it came with the first gig bag I actually like, a Rock Bag? it is highly functional, light and strong! Finish is high gloss and it stands out in my collection. I usually like them a little less fancy but this one looks great so I don't mind. Binding is perfect and couldn't be happier with the way it plays.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have only had it 2 years and haven't taken it out much, but it is built solid and the construction is like a tank!! in a good way

I really love this one and I have numerous other guitars, 2 custom Carlo Greco archtops!!, 2 vintage gibsons ES150 and ES150D, 3 Ibanez lawsuit archtops, a Master archback flattop guitar. a few others and this framus. When I feel like plugging in I reach right for theis Framus. The sound is sweet and it plays like a dream. I was very surprised when I receivedthis one at how much I liked it and the great value that it was. These are built by hand and the setup was perfect even coming all the way from Germany. This a keeper and unique instrument. I would not hesitate to buy it again.

Made 23/12/2004 in Markneukirchen/Germany, thinline hollowbody electric, single cutaway, mahagoni body, carved flamed maple top, bolt in ovangkol neck, rosewood fingerboard, satin finish, neck only wax finish, 22 frets, duncan ssh1 and ssh4 humbucking pu,passive electrics, framus non-locking tuners (seem to be schaller m6 mini), tune o matic bridge with stop tailpiece (there is also a model with bigsby type vibrato available), security locks and a special tool for neck adjustment are included, also they deliver a warwick rockbag with it. by factory it comes with master volume and master tone, mine was modded by the shop i purchased it with 2 push-pull pots for humbucker split and single volume control for each pu by leaving the original master tone control, which gives it a greater range of available sounds, without the modifications i would give it a 8 with the mods i ordered it is a good 9 in my opinion

Sound : 8
The Tennessee is definitely a bright and sparkling guitar, that sounds more than a Ric than like those Gibson es type guitars, even if its splitted it is not noisy.
It suits my styles that go from singer/songwriter and blues to alternative rock and grunge very well, in som cases it is too bright for what i need, so i also use my ES135 (duncan vintage p90, Bigsby) for situations where i need a more dark sounding guitar.
Caused be the modifications there is a variety in sounds that go from acoustic like clean sounds to fat lead tone by using the ssh4 (Jeff Beck model) in humbucking mode. So this is a good allrounder.
Setup is -> guitar - korg dt10 - ibanez ts10 - nobels tr-x - laney lh50r-II with eminence GB12 equipped 2x12 cab.

Guitar was manufactured and setup very well, think they check every guitar they get in the store so i can not tell anything about the factory setup. Neck pu was a bit too high adjusted but thats nothing difficult to correct. Great woods, nice flame maple top nothing that i could call a flaw, exept the guy who painted the inner body with graphit paint also put a bit of it around the edge of the f-hole which you only see if you go near enough to put your nose in the hole ;-), but in fact it is a guitar to work with, also it was modded for my needs so i did not mention it when purchased

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Build very well, top notch neckjoint, boltet with 2 screws from back 2 under neck pu, Warwick security locks are included. Everything looks good constructed and strong enough to last some years of gigging. I never gig without a backup, as i allways use my Gibson for several songs and i would play the whole set with any of these - as long as the strings last ;-) But as i only got it a few days, i will not rate this category.

Just asked for some info about their products, took some time until they answered, but if there is something with my gear i call the shop i purchased it, they are very kind and helpful there so i do not mind about Framus at the moment.

I use to play guitar since 18 years, owned guitars by fender, gibson, ibanez, takamine and some other companies, i think this guitar is the best i ever purchased in all these years, the only one i kept over the years was my gibson es cause i really love it. This guitar is also a keeper, great lead tones if distorted, shimmering and sparkling if played clean, near to an acoustic when splitted, everything i wanted. with a neck that is somewhere between a gibson and an ibanez not the fastest but one of the most comfortable i ever played. Great guitar for a not too high price. in fact i was looking for a ricky or an epi when i found this guitar in the shop i purchased it. the neck of a ricky was not like i expected while the quality of those epis i tested was much lower than people who own one would ever tell to you. so i tried 3 of the higher priced tennessee customs (which is down to an ebony fretboard, high polished finish, custom abalone inlays and locking tuners), where i did not find any flaws or great differences in quality or sound. so i thought i could order the lower priced pro version without testing. i think i was right and anyone who is looking for a good allrounder by thinking of a thinline semiacoustic should try this too. if it were lost - how could i loose a guitar????? - or stolen i would defenitely buy another one of these. maybe there is lots of better stuff i do not know or i just did not try, but how about the pricing. standart for this framus is about 925,- Euros in germany the other 75,- i payed was the modification i ordered. rickys start at 1300,- gibsons start at 1400,- and here are nearly both worlds at a lower price. As there could always come something better at lower price - in fact from asia where people know how to build up good guitars at a low price - i will give it an overall 9.
