This model is a 1969 Framus Caravelle. It is a 335 copy made in the original Framus factory in Bavaria. Features the multi laminated maple neck, quilted maple back. Pick-ups are stock and I would say are humbuckers neck and bridge. Ebony fretboard with pearl dot inlays. For a picture you can go to www.guitarscanada.com in the Collector's corner section. Open tuners, 3 per side.

Sound : 6
The guitar sounds pretty good. The neck needed some adjustments when I found it but now it cruises along very nicely. Nice blues guitar. Can get a fat sound out of it when needed. No real highs to speak of.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The body was and still is very nice. Really nice woods used. The multi laminated neck was prone to some warping, this one is back in good condition though. The headstock could have been done better as they just painted it black. There are gold inlays for the name and a flowere type design as well. The ebony board is very fast.

Reliability/Durability : 7
It would stand up to some live play, most likely knock it out of tune. I have not changed the original tuners but would do that if I needed to count it heavily. I do not play this one outside of the house though.

None that I know of.

Been playing about 10 years, have several guitars. Picked this one up strictly for it's looks and make.

I've seen this guitar on a picture of the Shadows. I think it's been made ine the sixties. There is Two P90 style pickup, Fender Jaguar style switches, bigsby style vibrato. The neck is made into maple wood and the body is plywood. The finish is rather correct although it's 40 years old. The tuners are standard ones and the bridge is a bigsby one like gretsches.

Sound : No Opinion
This guitar is not made for playing neo fucking metal. This is very good for playing Shadows tunes or pop stuff like the equals or the beatles. The single coils pickups are not buzzing like the Fender's ones. The Vibrato allows you to get a vintage vibe. The two pickup configuration is sufficent to play in a lot of styles. Jazz, blues, slide or pop rock.

this is a very interresting acoustic d style? 12st guitar
probably made in the sixyies label is so yellow hard to see(model and serial no in pencil)
made in the black forest of bavaria stamped west germany
this is a funky build so i thought it should go in the archives,
NOT FOR SALE check this, neck is 22 piece laminate of what looks like a waxy maple (maybe hickory) but ive never had to adjust the rod. neck bolts to body ala fender (you could buy a 6 string to bolt in there)
original tuners still work fine
whole body is 3ply tone wood, cedar top, mahogany back maple sides.(clear finish) back is remarkable, being blown out and sculptured long predating ovation
wide rosewood fretboard 21 fat frets thin design for a 12 its quite remarkable
the guitar came with a "plastic bolt on bridge" which i quickly replaced with a piece of well figured pearwood but still kept the boltton design
and changed to lefthand as im a lefty

Sound : No Opinion
the most softest gentle sounding twelve i have ever heard, i used to own a guitar repair shop so ive seen quite a few and owned a few
i have kept this guitar tuned in open D for 15 yrs and only have to
tune it slightly occasionly im also slack in changing strings so strings can sometimes be left on for over a year still no probs
no neck shift the same relief is still there when i replace a set

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
genuine laquer still polishes up well, zero fret keeps action good
no lifted frets, sliight finger wear to the fretboard
bombproof consruction
the design is like no other. my friend has another 12 which is just slightly bigger and the same shape as a classic guitar(deeprich red colour which has a
haunting harpsichord like sound

Reliability/Durability : 10
its lasted beautifully since the sixties

It is a large bodied acoustic guitar, made in germany. I dont know that much about it, but i would like to learn. It has 19 frets, i think. No electronics what so ever. My father bought it 30 years ago. It has a sunburst finish. I want to know what kind of wood it is made of, but i haven't found a suitable site on the net. the back side is slightly curved, and when you shake it, you can always hear a few old picks floating around. It recently cleaned the age old grime off the neck, and it turned from black to the most beautiful shiny brown wood, but i dont know it's name.

Sound : 10
This guitar taught me how to play. It can be very loud, or very quiet. It has a full sound, it can be played really well for fingerpicking or strumming. Beautifull sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
It a sunburst. Normally, i dont reaqlly like sunbursts, but on this guitar, it's stunning. It has great action, even thought it has barely been played for 20 years. Sadly, i have lived all over the world, and the changing climate affected it. it has a crack on the side, however this seem to be getting smaller, now that i have a humidifyer. The guitar fret 15 does buzz sometimes, but that is easilly corrected by pressing harder. As most old guitars, it is scatched, and has a few small dents in places, but i love it anyway.
The machine heads are old and stiff, but they work, it just takes alot of effort

Reliability/Durability : 8
It is very dependable. i have played wildly with it, and it is still in one piece... of course, i dont go around touring or anything
