My Frankinstein is a custom-made, left handed guitar. When I went looking for an electric guitar, I found that very few stores carried any selection of the very few models that the manufacturers choose to build for us lefties-the choice was decidedly limited. I actually got quite discouraged with the whole process until my guitar instructor pointed me in the direction of Frankinstein and Seppo Valjakka, the man behind the name.
It became quickly evident that Seppo was my man; he would build a guitar exactly the way I want it, with all of the components that I wanted-no compromises.
The result of this collaboration was a solid maple, modified Les Paul style guitar, with my signature on it! When there was no Badass bridge in solid black to meet my requirement for all black fittings, Seppo had it de-chromed and re-plated black.
It has 22 frets on the black mahogany fret board, two Seymour Duncan Humbuckers (Alnico II Pro and a 59 Model), black Schaler mini tuning keys, even Black Diamond strings. And when it comes to the control knobs, sure they?re black, but they are also re-wired so that the volume and tone work the same as it would for you righties, not upside down!
The neck is fitted to the body, not bolted on and, because that was the way I wanted it, the edges are all rounded and smoothed with no binding.
The wood was too beautiful to stain so it?s clear and varnished-it is a work of art!
No doubt about it, for features this guitar is a solid 10, because it has everything that I wanted.
Sound
:

I will be the first to admit that I am not a professional musician, but some pros have played this guitar (Upside down) and loved it. The solid body gives a sustain that lasts forever and the sound is sweet and clear. Put the Marshall 50 on Overdrive and it will ?raunch? it up with the best of them.
It gets a 10 from me.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

If the site allows it, I will rate this guitar 11 out of 10 in this category. The fit and finish are nothing short of superb-the neck just melts into the body. This is where Seppo really shines as a craftsman.
The action is low, but that?s the way I wanted it. If you want super-high action, fine, you can get it at Frankinstein.

Well there is no denying this guitar is solid and if it was Pete Townsend?s he would probably knock his equipment into the next county without denting this axe! Rate it 10 all the way.
Customer Support

This is what Frankinstein and Seppo are all about. When you become a customer of Frankinstein then you have a guitar-tuner, tinkerer, modifier, place to drop into for life! Seppo really looks after his customers. Give him another 11 if that?s possible.

I have been playing for 3 years now and hook the Frankinstein up to a 50 DFX Marshall.
Played my first gig last November and the Frankinstein carried me through to standing ovations-it doesn't get any better.
You can see this "killer guitar" at. www.frankinsteinguitarworks.com. I think Seppo is still pretty proud of his first lefty.
