This was my first Frankinstein Guitar Works custom built guitar (I have since purchased three more custom pieces) made in May 2007. This guitar features a beautifully grained light one-piece Swamp Ash body (overall weight 7.4 lbs and that is with a Lollar humbucker) with a thin nitrocellulose and creme top binding and a rear tummy cut, a set USA Custom Guitars T-Style neck with a 1" C shape neck - plain maple with a dark rosewood fretboard with 6105 frets and no dot markers (the USACG necks are also used on Crook guitars which Brad Paisley uses extensively - and Tommy is also great to work with). After I had started on the other pieces I tried a Frankinstein with a neck hand-crafted by Seppo and it was exceptional (that guitar is now owned by Ian Thomas). Wilkinson Tele bridge and vintage tuners

Sound : 10
This guitar is quite loud acoustically. Lollar Imperial Humbucker in the neck and Lollar single coil in the bridge bring out the true tone of this axe. I would sum it up as a warm biting growl with a noticable bloom when playing overdriven, clean tones can range from warm and jazzy to a slightly twangy zing (the rosewood board evens out some of the ash brightness). The versatility is maximized as the neck humbucker can be switched series/parallel with the push/pull volume pot, and a no load tone pot sending a "straight wire" to the amp when cranked to ten. Overall very full sounding!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Tangerine orange with creme top binding, satin nitrocellulose and carnauba wax finish - wonderful feel to the wood - never sticky, and maximizes resonance. I absolutely love the set neck heel carve Seppo creates - easy comfortable access all the up to the 22nd fret and it just feels right! The action was set very low and I just did a few minor tweaks to personalize it and plays wonderfully - I like it nice and low so not much adjustment was required.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Seems as solid as any guitar could be - its a T style made of maple and ash.

Customer Support : 10
Seppo was very patient with all my questions and ideas and was really seemed to enjoy making this a learning process. I was lucky enough to live close enough to hand select the body blank and we really put some thought into it and I am convinced that help make all four (three guitars and one bass) better. I am sure Seppo gives the same support to more distant purchasers in choosing there right woods - he seems to really enjoy sharing his insights on the blanks he has in stock (and he usually has a wide array of beautiful and exotic blanks for those wanting to go beyond traditional tonewoods).

Overall Rating : 10
Simply put Seppo builds exceptional, custom guitars. These are Master-built Custom shop quality but with the personal interaction and support you cannot get with the big guys.
