this guitar has more sounds than any guitar I have played before. From the deep resonating bass notes through a one piece body, to the high glassy warbles achieved with the Bigsby trem, this guitar can do it all!!! Even the tone knob acts as an actual tone knob, instead of acting like most tone knobs where you have either normal sound or muffled. this one actually ADDS edge to the sound.
I play in a classic rock and blues band of 60's and 70's stuff, so i wanted a guitar with a real vintage vibe to it. So the first thing seppo suggested were some new old stock bill lawrence pickups...still in the original packaging from the 70's!!!! Let me tell you, these are the warmest sounding pickups available that i know of!!! Coolest humbucker tones i have ever heard!!!
Secondly, the one piece obeche body gives incredible sustain!!! You'd swear you were playing through a compressor!!! big fat notes that don't fade very fast!!!! No sudden drop off, but a nice gradual decay. But if you use some vibrato, the note will howl for hours!!! you can actually feel the wood vibrate as you hit a note....
Third, the Bigsby trem and roller bridge. These are the simplest bridge components I have seen on an electric, and by far the best sounding!!! The amount of smooth glassy sounds you can get with this trem are unlimited!! I play a lot of Hendrix, so I use a trem just as much as the next guy and let me tell you, this will handle as much abuse as my strat trem, and DOESN'T go out of tune!!!
Action, Fit, & Finish

when i first got it, the action was set lower than i like and i was getting a bit of fret buzz. As soon as I let Seppo know, he had me bring it back to him while he dressed the frets and oiled the neck for me...he even oiled the slots in the nut for me...plus tightened down a part of the trem arm that wasn't completely tightened from the factory...I got it home and it plays incredible!!!! The action is perfect and the intonation is dead on!!!! The beauty is what he does with the neck though. You know when you are trying to play up around the 15th fret and up, and the heel where the neck joins the body just blocks your hand from doing anything on the E A or D string really? Well imagine that heel completely gone!!!! Seppo shaves that heel right out and gives you access to areas you never even thought of playing on before!! I am hitting &th chords up there, and giving it some warble with the bigsby and my hand fits up there perfect! you really have to see it to believe it.
The body is smooth as a baby's bottom and finished in danish oil and carnuba (what they put in car wax)...so it is really bare bones looking, but contrast so well with the aluminum and stainless steel of the trem and bridge. But here is the thing with these guitars as opposed to ones done in nitro cellulose: these ones only improve from the time it was made. Nitro doesn't get better or shinier...it is downhill from the day you buy it. Well with danish oil, it gets glossier as you play it!! Your arm acts as a buffer while you play!!! So the more you play it, the shinier the finish gets!!! Name one other product available that can make that claim?? musically speaking or otherwise!!

have only had it a few days, but it has held up to one band practice and lots of trem action without going out of tune. And since the Danish oil finish will only get better with age, what more can you ask?

this is the guitar i have dreamed about for years. You know how you have that pic in your mind of the coolest guitar you can imagine? Well you can have it become a reality at Frankenstein! I originally went to Seppo (the genius behind the guitars!!) to have my frets replaced on my Strat. I am used to going into a music store and waiting for someone to come and help me, which usually takes quite sometime. Then you have to book a time when their "tech" is in..well as soon as i arrived at Frankenstein Guitar Works, Seppo dropped everything he was doing and sat just talking to me for about an hour about guitars, different woods, etc...when you are talking to him, you feel as though you are talking to a friend, not a business man. Everytime i went to Seppo during the building process, it felt as though he was revolving his business around me!! He also doesn't act like he knows what is best for your custom guitar...you tell him what you want, and he acts as a tour guide. I thought i knew what i wanted in a guitar, until I realized all the options available to consider. The nice thing is all the options were up to me. If something wasn't a good idea, Seppo would say "this isn't a good idea because.......however, you are in charge and if you want it that way i will do it!"...in no way did he pressure me on any part or feature whatsoever!! and every idea he had was a good one!! And I know of no other compamy that will warranty a guitar for life...but he does!!

Trust me on this, just go to Frankinstein and talk to Seppo. Go in and chat with him and look at his projects. You'll be wishing you had met him long ago.
The way I see it is you can't really put a price on tone. I have been trying to buy tone for over 15 years with guitars, and i finally realized that no matter what price you pay for a guitar, it either has tone in it or it doesn't. It is all in the material and construction of the guitar. Seppo researches his parts and materials and knows what will give you the tone you are after. I told him what i was after, and i now have a beautiful guitar that completely exceeded my expectations!! If you are someone who wants the perfect guitar, you owe it to yourself to even just go in and talk to him!!
