Features : 9
My custom Frankinstein was built in 2004 in Guitar Heaven, Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. It's main features are:
- 24 6105 (tall and thin) Frets
- Solid Madrone Burl top (very rare wood)
- Africain Mahogany Body (also very rare wood)
- One Volume Pot and a 5 way strat switch
- A Seth Lover by Seymour Duncan in the neck
- An Evolution by DiMarzio in the Bridge
- The DiMarzio has a coil split when in Position 2 and in position 4 the two pickups are connected in parallel
- A stratocaster recessed football input jack
- The body is shaped like an SG, but instead of having a "spanked" bottom, I had it fully rounded out. The body is 1 and 3/4 inches thick
- The neck is Flame maple with a macassar ebony finger board, and features an explorer style head and a wizard profile on the back. There are no fret markers
- The finish is flat tung-oil, so the grain of the wood is elegant and very sexy
- We have a horseshoe bigsby trem and a tune-o-matic bridge
- the tuners are sperzel locking
- it also came with a coffin case that is guaranteed for anybody except keith richards

There is only one thing that anyone can say when this guitar is played with gain through a marshall stack...

...damn...

THIS THING ROCKS! I play everything from punk, to ska, to reagee, to rock and roll, to heavy metal, to country and prog. And this guitar suits every category of music.

When I play live I play through a Marshall DSL100 with a MXR Dual Shot distortion and an Ibanez Weaping demon wha and other boss effect pedals depending on the song and etc. and this thing sings, it's got sustain like you cannot believe.

This guitar has everytone in your bag of tricks and then some ok? It rocks! It can go from being this rich, full and warm sound, then a flick of the switch and it's the biggest, ballsiest thing you've ever heard! I can immitate any guitar player in the world's tone with this thing. Kirk Hammet, Steve Vai, Lenny Breau. You name it, we'll get it.

Is it noisy? I've taken it off and set it on the stand on stage and gone for a drink during an intermission, and forgot to turn the amp off, and I wouldn't know until the sound guy would tell me, or until I got back on stage and realized I forgot to turn it off. This thing is a dream!

You can also get alot of crazy sounds of it too, the space between the Tune-O-Matic bridge and the bigsby is ample for picking when you wanna make some crazy sounds. I removed the springs from the neck pickup so I can give it a shake or lift and lower it to get some good sounds out of it too.

Likes - Everything
Dislikes - I would like to get the neck pickup even lower to get the dead amp sound out of the guitar, but I can do that by turning the treb, mid and lows on my mxr down to zero so it's redundant to do so anyway.

out of ten, this guitar is infinity trillian for sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action: I've had some trouble with the action, because the neck is unfinished, it changes with the humidity of the room, so I find myself adjusting the neck before shows and practices. But it's alright because it only takes about 3 seconds. The action is so low, u'd have to split an atom to get in between the strings and the frets. And buzz? NONE! I'm amazed! Blow AWAY! Though, it did take me about a month of owning the guitar to get the action just right. I like mine low baby! The action coming out of the shop was awsome for out of shop performance. But I wanted to lower it because I encountered minor buzzing.

The pickups were well set out of the shop, I havn't changed the position of the evolution, but as I mentioned earlier I took the springs out of the neck pickup's screws so I can change the height of it whenever, and so I can make crazy sounds.

The top of the guitar is done brilliantly, there's a madrone cap that's layed on and it's done so well that it looks like the wood changes. There is a problem with the book matching through the center though, it has a tiny gap, the width of a hair maybe through it, but it's nothing that would hurt the guitar's sound or over all look. I noticed it whilst looking through a magnifying glass.

No flaws were found in this design. Though it is fairly heavy. It weighs more than an explorer, but after playing with it for a while you get used to the weight and it doesn't bother you at all.

The finish tells a story! The grain of the wood is so amazing, it takes my breath away every time I polish it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is so reliable, if I was a touring rockstar with 4 guitar techs, I wouldn't take any other guitar on the road with me! I've never had it quit on me ever, and the hardware looks like it will last a lifetime, though I might have to change the strat pickup in time, as we have to change them all. The finish is good for life, considering it's tung oil, so it will only improve in time. The strap locks are imbedded in the guitar so there's no worry of them falling out. I depend on this guitar like oxygen. I do have a backup guitars, but the one is in half a step down tuning (or in regular depending on what the majority of the night is). I keep my frankinstein in the tune of the majority of the set's tuning because it's my guitar. I love it. As I said, if I could, I'd take it on tour without a backup.

It is my personal opinion that this guitar could be the entire French army and the only damage done to it would be some pick scratches on the finish.

Customer Support : 10
OH MY GOD! I'm only 15 years old, so most adults I deal with treat me like a kid, like I know nothing, etc.

Seppo has worked with Kim Mitchell, and I'm sure that he treated me no different than he did Mr.Mitchell. Seppo's business philosophy is, I treat the costumer as I would want to be treated myself. He is personable and very friendly. Also, when I showed up, my ideas were a jumble, he was very helpful in helping me get down to exactly what I wanted, and finding me affordable parts I wanted.

I have gotten it repaired before, and Seppo did it without a complaint . I don't know what the warranty is because I'm 100% positive I won't need one, but I do believe that if I ever need a repair Seppo will get it done.

The final price of the guitar came out to $2460, but the price was high because of two things
a) all the wood is either extinct or very rare, so that made the body up about 800 bucks.
b) the neck was customed out, so that made it's price come out to about 600.
If i didn't have these two options the guitar probably would have been around 1600. But I chose these options because I wanted a guitar that would last my entire life and still please my guitar playing needs.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 6 years now. I own 4 acoustic guitars and a fender stratocaster.
Before I bought this guitar, I wish I would have asked Seppo to sign the inside of it, so that one day when's famous I can say, yo man! dig it! Seppo signed this mofo!
If this guitar were lost or stolen, I'd have the friggen US Army after it, and if they couldn't find it, I'd DEFINITLY get it made again.
I think we've already discussed likes and dislikes above. My favorite feature is the shape and weight. Nobody has a guitar that looks like it in the world, and even if they tried they wouldn't get it, because I signed mine on the head, and the highest 2 frets are floating.
I love everything about it. And the weight of the guitar is perfect, because not only does it give perfect tone and sustain, but it also builds strength in the shoulders, back and arms. Before I bought this guitar, I tried Gibson Les Pauls, Explorers and Rivieras. Ibanez JEMs and JS's and Paul Reed Smiths. I picked the one I have because all of the above guitar's didn't have everything I wanted. They had little pieces, but not everything.
I wish it had air conditioning. Because sometimes on the stage when you're lugging around the world's greatest guitar you break into a sweat. I also wish it had a crazy finish that would make it look insane on the stage, but I think that goes against the idea behind having a guitar that lasts for the rest of my life (being almost 16 as I am) as finishs break of and chip and etc. Where a tung oil, will make it look better in time.

In closing I would like to say that it's probably the greatest guitar ever made. And if you played it live 3 or 4 times a month, you'd probably agree with me in saying that no guitar should ever be made again after this.

I make that joke everytime I tell people about this guitar, in that no other should ever be made again, but I'm also kind of serious at the same time. There arn't enough good things I could say about this guitar.
