This guitar does exactly what I got it for. Everything. I play mostly jazz through a heritage patriot 2x12 amp, but I wanted something that could run the gambit from Death Metal, to crisp clean tones, to blues. With the neck pickup on and the tone rolled back it sounds just like an archtop. If I roll the volume back a bit for some fingerstyle chord solo the acoustic tones of the hollow body realy come out. Split the pickup and it almost has the clasic tele sound without so muck twang. When I plug it in through my black 13 distortion pedal and swit the bridge pickup on it can get the heaviest crunch tones you can imagine, with leads still sounding great. The pickups are very sensitive and the note attack is very fast.

The guitar came set up great right out of the case. It was in tune and the action was low and smooth. It had 10 guage strings on it and I have a hard time with anything les than 12, so my luthier at CB Perkins guitars set it up with some 12 guage strings for me at no charge. The top is perfectly bookmatched with a deep wide flame. The honey burst is of the highest quality and upon very close inspection I cannot find a flaw anywhere. The neck pocket is extremely tight, bridge and pickups all routed perfectly. Gun oil tint on the neck is applied very well, wood binding is seemed perfectly along body and it is just thin enough so the flame in the wood shows through. Flawless

Haven't dealt with them directly but my dealer was great. I custom ordered it from CB Perkins in Sept. 07 and it arived the first week of Dec.07. I played it for a couple of weeks and then brought it back for a setup. They did a killer job.

I have been playing for 19 years and my main guitar is a Heritage Golden Eagle. I also have an early 90's G&L Legcy, A guild DV4 accoustic, a Kremona WS650 classical, and a 1949 Epiphone R4 upright bass. This is a great addition to my collection and I think I can finnaly get all of the sounds I want. This guitar is great in every way and the amount of options available realy let you customize it to almost whatever you can think of. If it got lost or stolen I would go in the very next day to place an order for the exact same thing.

Beautiful maple-top with cherry finish. I got this used, and it has an ebony fingerboard, which is not a standard option and was probably custom-ordered. It has a plastic nut and poly finish. The guitar has a bright sound unamplified, and I imagine that the SD pups are a bit darker in tone, because the sound is about perfect.

Sounds versatile and beautiful. I am not someone who is interested in guitars that can do it all; I would rather have that is really good at a specific thing. Having said that, this guitar can about do it all. Its single-coil (Traditional Tele sound) sound like a Tele, but with some of the harshness of the high end gone. I wouldn't have thought that a tapped humbucker would sound that nice and useable until playing this. With the humbuckers on, it sounds amazing on lead, esp. long, sustained tones ala Prince, Santana. The controls are well-placed, easy to use and work well. I have an Eric Johnson Strat as my other guitar (I play funk, r&b and jazz) and the Tele has a smoother, prettier sound for that kind of soloing. It also sounds really good as a straight-ahead jazz guitar. Like I said, I am not trying to find a guitar that can play everything, since they never seem to do one thing well, but this guitar is wonderful

I wish the finish was nitro and it had a bone nut. The EJ cost about the same new with those features, so I'm not sure why the Tele doesn't have them. Having said, it still sounds great. Some fret dressing issues as well

I have been playing for about 15 years, and gig 2-3 times a week on mostly funk and r&b. This guitar really does a nice job, and if you can find a used one (mine was 900) they are a great buy.
