G&L ASAT Z3 Semi-Hollow

this guitar has everything you need and nothing you dont! this is the g&l asat z-3 semi holllow and its great, it has your normal tele control plate, one volume one tone but it has a 5-way switch for your out of phase sounds just like a strat since this guitar has the 3 pickups, the MFDs which are great, you can adjust the pickup and the individual pole pieces so you can set them however you like,this guitar sounds like a modern strat with a vintage vibe..to me anyways im a strat man and i thought id try this out, however you can get tele tones, they are there!! also since this is semi hollow it has a different tone again, very lively and when you play acousticaly you can really here the sound of the guitar coming through, it is quite light since its S-H but still has a good weight to it,mine is finished in tobacco burst with chrome hardware and tortishell pickguard which looks great, also the gun oil tint with gloss laquer, it has an all birdseye maple neck which is gorgeous! i love the locking tunners and saddle lock bridge, great ideas! umm too many other things to list, ill just leave it!

this guitar suits my musical style just great, it has a cross strat-tele thing going on which is just wicked, it feels comfortable and as soon as you pick it up you want to keep playing it! i use this guitar with a boss cs-3 compressor/sustainer, a digitech bad monkey overdrive, a ibanez TS9DX turbo tubescreamer and sometimes a boss chorus ensemble and its all going into a mesa boogie lonestar 1x12 widebody combo, good combination!! this guitar sounds sweet as and has a great tone, very versatile and nice and clean sounding, very clear even with gainy distortion, you can hear the notes coming through without grittyness, it is a very bright guitar but i think thats the way the pickups are set up cos it doesnt take much to change them and itl change the sound completely, it isnt noisy at all, these pickups are wound like humbuckers but are single coils, great things! and they look unique to haha, it has a good well rounded tone and lots of grunt behind it, itl cut through no worries! it makes all the strat and some tele tones :) i pretty much like everything about this guitar!

i got this guitar second hand so it was set up how it was which was pretty good haha different to play than my strats but that was to be expected, g&l have always felt a bit different to me, the pickups were adjusted by the previous owner but i did some adjusting myself and its fine now :) everything is flush and nicely matched, there are alot of idiots on here who say ''you can fit a piece of paper between the neck and body so its not that good'' just play the thing honestly!! stop complaining and play it, my guitar is all flush and there will be no paper test, that wont improve the tone if i tryfit paper in there! it has no flaws, thats not to say its the perfect guitar but it has no construction flaws. all is well

i havent had it for that long but it seems able to hold its own, tunning is very very stable and everything about it is tough enough, i wont be throwing it around though haha, the finish, strapbuttons, and all hardware is great, solid as a rock! i always use backups incase of string breakage

never had to contact g&l but ive only heard good things about them and lots of kept promises of quality! waranty is 10 years!

ive been playing for 6 years and this is my 34th guitar, ive had custom shops, gibsons of all kind, gretschs and all kinds of strats, prs' and you name it! this guitar is great and i love playing it, i own a few other strats which i will never get rid of cos they are awesome but this guitar is definately top of the line and worth every cent of its value! i had b]never heard one before and i traded for it, bit of a blind trade but it paid off! it always does ;) all in all it is a well made quality guitar, im upset though cos im a true fender man and my old $7500 custom shop guitar wouldnt come close to this, i think if fender had to make something up to this standard it would be customshop and cost like 10,000, this was 4,350NZD new and i got it for a trade so im happy! :)
