WOW...a real sweet axe all around. Great axe. From blues and rock to metal. Used with Mesa Dual recto. Not noisy. Full and biting sound.
A little heavey but you get used to it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Very Nice all around. Fit and finish a nearly perfect. I did my own setup and it really came to life. The was however a rough fret end or two but that seems due to low humidity in my house. I run the AC all the time. I think the wood re-acted. This is minor and has happened to many of my guitars now and then.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Very heavey duty feeling. It is heavy as ash is dense. I put Dunlop strap locks on. Recomend strap lock with all guitars. Hardware is all solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them.

I have been playing 20+ years. I own several Music Man guitars, 2 Ibanez 7 string guitars and a carvin bass. I have owned PRS, Peavey,
Ibanez, Fenders, Gibsons and others in the past. This is a very high quality guitar no doubt about it. I actually bought the new Peavey Speacial USA and it was a real dog. I returned it and decided to go with a G&L. I wanted an American axe for heavey metal and this is it.
Here's my rig:
Boss floor tuner-> Fulltone wah -> MXR EVH phase 90-> Fulltone choralflange-> TC electronics vintage delay-> Mesa Dual Recto with Recto 4x12 cab.

2005 made in the US. Honey body/headstock with a figured maple top, wood body binding, and a rosewood fretboard. H/S/H with the two seymours (JB + 59) tapped. USA Floyd rose and locking nut. This guitar definitely has enough features to keep you busy while you're playing.

Sound : 10
I got this guitar as a shredder/rock axe because I have always liked G&L's and I wanted a sound that was a little different than a Jackson or Ibanez. I also use a '74 Les Paul custom frequently, and I play them both through a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL w/ a custom built oversized cab. The Invader really has a thick sound. The JB pickup is great for heavy metal and the 59 gives a really thick bell tone when tapped. Untapped the 59 sounds pretty similar to my les paul. The G&L single coil pickup also sounds nice although I dont use it as much as the others. Everything that comes out of this guitar is built for powerful lead w/out sounding flat and dry like some active pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
There were no problems with the fit and finish of this guitar. The top looks great with the binding and I get a lot of compliments on it. It definitely stands out from the crowd. My only complaint is that I found the middle single coil to get in the way since its pretty much right where I pick. I lowered it down as far as I could which fixed the problem, but noticably reduced the output of the pickup.

Reliability/Durability : 10
No problems so far. I break a lot of strings, but I consider that due to excess whammy. Restringing Floyds is annoying. Nice case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Fortunately I havent had to deal with them.

Ive been playing guitar for 13 years since I was 11. I own a number of guitars but use a LP custom and this guitar primarily. I pretty much hate guitar effects and would prefer to crank everything up and let the true tone come through. I would definitely buy this guitar again if it got stolen. Im extremely glad I got this guitar instead of another metal clone with a pair of EMGs.
