Just a notice: I have got one Galanti archtop exactly the same model described by Terrance D. The only difference is the colour: yellow-orange sunburst instead of green. The guitar is fully original, complete and in perfect shape. It sounds very good unplugged. In the next future I will be able to set a rating, after a consistent period of use. Anyway, the neck is wonderful to play.

I believe this rare, Italian made beauty was made in the mid 60's by the Galanti Organ Company. Standard scale neck with mahogany arched top. The controls are mounted on a floating brushed gold aluminum panel with air vents? Two single humbucking pickups. Unique whammy bar system routered into the body. Lots of chrome and a cool family crest mounted on the tailpiece. The finish is original, sunburst Vatican green & black with cream binding. I have yet to see another one or hear from another owner. Subway Guitars supposedly has a bunch, but I have yet to see a picture. There has been a couple solid body Galanties on the web for around $500. I couldn't sell her though. It's true love! If anyone has any info, pictures, etc. on Galanti, I am assembling a database for all Galanti owners to share. Wanna see her? E-mail me: ternet@mnsi.net

Sound : 9
It has an excellent unplugged sound and a groovy electric tone. A very full sound. I run it through my 67 Fender Super Reverb for a fantastic twangy sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I keep the action fairly low. It could probablu use a pro set up and clean the pots.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It appears to be a well made guitar that would certainly take to the road. The finish has a few minors cracks but that's it. I would certainly use it for recording if Capital hands me a record contract.

The Galanti brothers eventually transformed their company into a electronics and organ company. They are still in business today under a different name.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall, its the coolest guitar I've ever had. I've had about 35 guitars over the last 20 years. I would be interested in buying another if I could find one! Any suggestions?
