I have an GANSON LES PAUL CUSTOM since early 1971. A cusing of my sent to me directly from japan, this year. After 36 years it is in perfect conditions, is a beautifull replica with a very great sound and details. I changed his pickups by T-500 Gibson and his tuners by Schaller.
This is the only Ganson Les Paul in Argentina.

The guitar is handmade in Japan in the 70's and in the early 80's. I think mine is made in the late 70's...
The guitar is very much like a Gibson same features when it comes to frets (22) wood - maghony (body) and rosewood (neck)...
The Pickups (two humbuckers) wich I have forgotten the name are probably Japanese also...
Good Features for very little money...

I play every kind of rock...
From Creedence Clearwater to Metllica and it very good for my needs...
It's probably not good for someone who playes death metal but for melodic heavy metal it's great!
I plugg it in to a Marshall 8240 and get some really great sound out of there...
But, the pickups is a bit noisy and doesn't "cut" enough when you want that screaming solo sound...

It was used when i got it so i can't really say how it was new...
But three out of four tone controlls are still there after almost 30 years!

I have used it one some small gigs but sometimes i feel that i can't really depend on it... I would say that for larger giggs when playing for more then an hour you should probably get a better (or newer) guitar...

I've been playing for a while now and i easily out does most copys...
Even think i would prefer this infront of an Epiphone...
I'm very courius what would happend if you put in a pair of really good pickups...
Probably Gibson class...
