I bought this Guitar in Futema Okinawa in 1974. I seem to remember being told that the store had it in stock for a year or two so it was made in the early 70's?. 22Frets 2- Maxon Chrome covered humbuckers,
Solid Kahogony Body and mahogang Golt Neck. MOP block inlay w.Dark Rosewood fretboard. Standard Gibson looking finish Exact Gibson SG Copy except for the "an" vise "ib" in Ganson which is MOP. Tune-o matic. Kluson type tuners which have been since changed to Shallers.
Thin smooth SG Neck, very fast. Crappy Case. 2 vol, 2 tone,

Sound : 10
Sounds as good as any Gibson I ever played, the Maxon pickups sing with a sweet tone and sustains nicely. Unfortunately in late 2001 the neck PU went microphonic so I replaced pickups with Kent Armstrong m213 n & m214 B, ( Outstanding pickups blow away JBs in a friends Epi SG and less than 1/2 the price) This guitar gets compliments as being a Good Sounding SG all the time for the past almost 30 years. Now more so with the Kent Armstrong s.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
This guitar was setup at the store and has played great no problems except when I shipped it home the toggle switch broke and the Authorized Gigson repairman screwed up the truss rod, he was only supposed to replace the toggle sw ( since Ive learned to do this stuff myself) well he asked me where I got the guitar as he didn't realize it was Not a Gibson and he said it had Better electronics etc than his Gibson and he ttook it down, offered to change the "an" to "ib" and them tried to put one of those feeble posted bridges on it, I guess back then Heave tuneomatic bridges & posts weren't common. Anyway I never got my 3 ply trussrod cover back from this ass and ended up having trouble with the tuning, unnecessarily changing the tuning keys until I learned enough to figure out the real prob.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Almost 30 years before a problem that wasn't inflicted by some bonehead. No Problem here.

Customer Support : No Opinion
? From experience with Japanese companies I would suspect that I would have no trouble. Where are they?

Overall Rating : 10
Who cares how long Ive been playing----??? ok over 40 years
Bunch of Fender guitars & Amps (old now I guess) Had gibsons Ibandad Danelectro etc Ive kept this guitar over some REALLY expensive ones.
I couldn't really compare this guitar to a Gibson even though it is a copy but it is I think nicer than any other SG Ive seen that Gibson made or liscenced.
No one who has ever played this guitar has not been impressed that I,m aware of.
