My guitar was the satin finish varient and looked superb, but I am a touch woried about scratching it, it does not look 'tough' but it did come complete with a smart solid case with the name Garrison sprayed accross it. Garrison have used a synthetic material to brace the guitar and this is claimed to help stabalise the guitar in some way. I am not certain what benefits this will bring long term as I have never noticed any guitar that I have owned have any problems in this area, maybe I have just been lucky.

Sound : 9
I play a variety of blues styles and this guitar suits me perfectly. I own a couple of other acoustic models but the Garrison has fast become my favourite as it has a full and rich tone and every note can be heard clearly.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I purchased my Garrison second hand but it was only a few weeks old. still, when I played it in the shop I just knew that I was going to buy it, it was set up perfectly for me. The finish was first class and athe tuners are able to maintain the tuning despite my heavy handed playing style.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
The guitar should gig well, it looks robust in every area except the finish, I bet it will scratch easier than a tough varnish finish. As far as using it on a gig without a backup goes, I would, I reckon these guitars are put together so well.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have no idea about customer support but the shop I got it from were able to give me every asurance that the Garrison would look after the instrument OK.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing guitar for over forty years, pro for about ten of them but that was a decade ago now. I now nrun a recording studio that has a couple of Fender electrics and one or two far eastern acoustics but the garrison is the most pleasing to pl;ay over a long period of time. I must admit I did not know anything about the manufacturer prior to purchasing this guitar, In fact I had never heard of them, but I should have have done a little homework prior to making the purchase. If this guitar was stolen I would be gutted and forced to replace it with another.
I love the tone, clarity and playability of this guitar but can't say that I hate anything about it. Prior to purchase I checked this guitar out against several other guitars, Gibsons, marting and Yamaha to name but a few. It may not have been the absolute best of the bunch but when the proce is taken into consideration it was the omly real option for me on the day.

This guitar came with the Satin Black finish, Chrome tuners, Ivory binding all the way around. Top is made of Spruce and the sides and back are Nato(Mahogany). The Neck is Rosewood with normal size frets. Made in China or Canada (one of the two) Was strung with D'Addario EXP's.

Sound : 10
I love the BIG sound this guitar makes. I can play a variety of music on this because of its versatile range of sound. It also "chimes" better than any guitar I've ever owned before. With the sound of this guitar, you'd think it was a very expensive guitar, but for the cost, you can't beat it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I was surprised that I didn't have to adjust anything. I usually go through a pain staking process with all my guitars when I get them, but I didn't have to with this one. I bought this with the Flat Black finish, it feels really smooth to the touch. There were some rubs on the sides from the packaging it came in. Looks like it moved around in the box a little. Everything else looked liked it was put together with alot of care. For a massed produced guitar, this was another surprise for me. I'm giving it a 9 just because of the rubs on the sides, that's it. You might get a 10 if you don't get the Flat Black paint job.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would use this guitar in any situation, live, recording, jamming with buddies. ANYTHING. The finish looks like it will stand the life of the guitar. All equipment seems top notch.

Customer Support : 10
This guitar came with a 5 year warranty. Better than any of my other guitars. I haven't dealt with the company yet, but by the looks of their web site, I'd say they are probably pretty good.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar for about 18 years or so. I own another "beater" acoustic and 2 electrics (fender and Kramer). I have tried alot of guitars in the $150- $250 price range and I'll bet you won't find one better than this one in that price range. If this guitar were to be stolen or lost or damaged beyond repair, I would go right out and buy another.

I recently acquired a Garrison Acoustic. I have never heard of Garrison, unfortunatly. This Garrison is a complete surprise. I LOVE IT! It is definately an 11! This beautifuldreadnaught has a satin finish over natural (almost white) wood. The back and sides are nato the fingerboard and bridge, rosewood, and the headstock is mahogany. The rosette radiates multi layer rings. It came with a hardcase. I work at a Museum where Music is the focus...much of the staff play guitar. EVERYONE who has played my guitar LOVES IT.

Sound : 10
The sound is distinctive and original. I have never heard a guitar sound so electric without any pickups. The action allows a strong strum pattern while equally giving perfectly for fingerpicking. This guitar is the bomb! The clarity of each note is mindblowing. I tried blues/country/rock scales up and down the neck and the sound consistantly stayed pretty and dynamic! This guitar is not to be ignored! It's addictive. I dare you to try one and not buy it!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I had the action adjusted just a pinch, but it came from the factory ready to go. It was perfect, I just wanted the action lowered a tiny bit.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this Garrison will outlive me. It has a beautiful satin finish which appears to be pretty solid. I would definately use it on a gig without a backup. I already use it everyday which is different for me because I use to change guitars frequently.

Customer Support : 10
Garrison has a 5-year warranty.

A couple of months ago I bought a Takamine and I thought it was the bomb. I have some nice guitars..Fender 12, Gibson, Ovation (elec/acoustic), Yamaha (elec), and a nice classical guitar. I say this because I DO have knowledge about guitars and have been playing for many moons. This Garrison is a huge surprise..unexepected as I had never heard of Garrison before.
