I bought this guitar as I was looking for a good sounding accoustic -electric at a reasonable price. Cutaway body, fishman matrix pickup.
( I swithed over to a fishman Premium pro blender which helped round out the sound. )
Sound
:

Initially I was very impressed with the sound both accoustic and electric but with time ( 6 months ) I've come to realize its shortcomings. Finger-picked the sound is acceptable but lacks overtones and balance. Chords, when strummed aggressively, seem to take on a very compressed sound. Sound becomes dead passed the fifth fret.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action was good when purchased but it has developed a buzz on the d A & E strings from the eigth fret on up. This can be adjusted but I'm dissapointed at how quickly this occured. Intonation has also deteriorated in a few months.

Not sure how guitar will hold up over time but I have a feeling that it's going to need constant adjustment to keep it playable.

I've been playing guitar for over forty years and own a Martin D 28,
Ovation celebrity deluxe and a gibson Les Paul Standard.
Bottom line is... you get what you pay for. The guitar is very tiring to play for any length of time. The jumbo frets tear up my fingers and the wider neck is probably not best suited for me. It's not a bad guitar for the price but it cannot compete with most guitars in the next price range, which I really shoud not have expected. I thought I found a real bargain but it turned out not to be the case.

All solid. The skeleton push your sight away for a while, but close your eyes and listen. These people are makin high quality guitars at low price due to theirn technical innovations.
they cut producing costs off using modern technology. So what?
Finish is almost perfect. Smooth surfaces overall. Your hand will move from fret to fret smoothly, without any effort.
Buzz Feiten, Tusq, bracin system, Infrared drying, laser cutting, hard case, fishman prefix... Great choices.
Lacks a front strapoholder.

If you strum, it sounds loud, but not COMPLETELY clear. Unless you have COMPLETE domination on the guitar (this happens to me form time to time). But if you fingerpick... this guitar is amazing. All strings respond docily.
Not brightness in excess, but enough to alert any ear. Root-blues sounds elegant and precise. Folk songs stand out in a very natural way.
I have used it "raw" and electrified with an AER Compact 60. Although this amp is almost a "state in the art" gadget, the guitar sounds better unamplified (which I think is a ++++).

Action seems to be a bit higher than I thought. Most owners talk about this guitar's low action feature, but I disagree. Could be because I have (for many years) been using 0,11 strings, but this guitar seems a bit hard to play for me.
Fishman EQ works well, but regarding the results, the thing itself seems a bit overpriced. I have other pickups and EQ, and they sound well too, but much cheaper.
D'adario strings sound great but hiss highly. Sgrings are still very new. We'll see.

Seems to be very solid and durable, but for a person like me, this guitar is like a TOTEM, and respect has allways to be kept when handling it, so I will always try to keep it safe.
I would definitely gig with it. Risks obviated.

Guitar owner since I was 17 (43now). Guitar user 10 years ago. Guitar player may be in 2015.
I have 2 other acoustic guitars. And this is a new dimension for me. ALl chords come out naturaly. Evan and balanced. Highs are net and clear but no strident at all. Low strings sound deep and sustained, although you have to be very precise with your fingers. Otherwise, sounds get short and poor. Preactising is a must.

2004 model / Made in Canada / 20 frets / solid high gloss cedar top with ebony fretboard and bridge / solid birch back and sides / abalone fret markers and bridge pins / Fishman Prefix piezo system / Buzz Feiten Tuning System / Griffiths Active Bracing system

I choose a cedar top because I play mostly fingerstyle, although occasionally use pick and fingers for some songs. Plenty of low end, and great balance between the mids and highs. In fact, great balance overall, not accentuated low and high ends that you would get with a spruce top... a big sound, very full and rich.

Medium Action with D'Addario Light XP strings. Action was perfect right out of the case. This was a "second" guitar, with a minor cosmetic flaw on the pickguard, so I saved a ton on money on it. (check out www.bigguitar.com for deals like this one...)

This guitar will probably outlive all of us...very solid and sturdy...I have no doubt that the gold plated tuners will eventually flake, but as long as they keep the guitar in tune, no worries...The cedar top has a high gloss finish and the satin finished birch back and sides are beautiful to look at. It is my understanding that the composite bracing provides greater resistance to feedback on stage, although I cannot confirm that yet, but I would have no qualms about taking it on stage and going head to head with anything Martin, Taylor, or anything else

I have been playing for 30 years. I have owned a Gibson and a Guild acoustic guitar and both of those guitars, however fine they were, pale in comparison to this Garrison. The Buzz Feiten system may have something to do with it, as well as the composite bracing. The intonation and sustain on this guitar are unreal. Yet the sound is not artificial or foreign. I will purchase another Garrison in the future, although it will be a non cutaway spruce top for bluegrass.
