Late 2003 full-size dreadnought model made in Canada. High gloss solid spruce top and solid satin finish birch back and sides. Gold tuners - Buzz Feiten tuning system. Glass fiber internal bracing system. Ebony fingerboard and abalone dot inlays. Garrison hard-shell case included.

Sound : 10
This is where it really shines - great sound, comparable to my friends' Martins and Taylors. Very full and bright (but not overly) sound. Mostly play folk and classic rock. Use to have a Seagull M6 and S6 as well as a Simon & Patrick cutaway w/electronics. This is by far the best acoustic out of Canada.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Set-up was somewhat high - had the action lowered, now plays like butter. Top quality woods, finish and hardware - just feels very solid when you hold it. No flaws as far as I can tell - top quality. The revoluntionary glass bracing system allowed Garrison to save time and money putting these guitars together, so as a result, you get a guitar with a solid wood top & back and features like gold hardware and abalone dot inlays for $500.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Totally a solid guitar - definitely one to withstand the live circuit.

5 year guarantee, but so far never had to contact them

I've only been playing a couple of years but have been around alot of guitar players (many who own Martins and are blown away by this guitar). I feel it is the best guitar under $1000 and you can get it for half that. Check them out on the web (www.garrisonguitars.com) and if you can find a dealer, pick one up and give it a spin - you'll be amazed. I would buy this one again in an instant. Beautiful guitar with a great sound. I also own a 1985 Washburn HB-35 (Japanese) semi-hollow body electric and a 1999 Fender American Fat Strat Texas special. My amps are a Peavey Classic 30 tube amp with a Celestion G12H30 speaker and a Marshall AVT20 with a Celestion Tube 10 speaker.

Dreadnought
Satin finish, solid birch sides and back
High gloss, solid spruce top
One piece, glass fiber internal bracing
Solid mahogany neck
Ebony fingerboard
Gold hardware
Abalone neck dots and string covers
Tortoise shell pick guard
Buzz Feiten tuning system
Very nice case included

Sound : 10
Sounds much better than it looks
Very full, warm tone
Not overly bright which is surprising with the spruce top

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
String action is way high
Some places on the top have faded marks, not sure if it is finish or something inconsistant in the wood grain
Laser etching is blurred slightly around the sound hole
Satin on the back and sides is perfect
Gloss finish on the top is very nice
Perfect fret work and nice hardware
It looks 1000 better than the G30, which is the same guitar with a satin finish and more black plastic (spring the extra $ for the G35, just in appearance it is worth it)

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Have not had it long enough to give this a fair opinion but my initial feeling is that it is well made with a nice finish

Customer Support : 10
Very friendly and helpful (I was down to two guitars and their customer support actually made the difference from me buying another guitar)

Overall Rating : 8
This is NOT a $3K Martin, so the visual imperfections don't bother me and is just honest nit-picking. From a few feet away you can't see any of them anyway. The thing sounds incredible for the money! Nothing could hold a candle to it in the sub-$500 range when played back to back with other guitars. I usually play a hollow-electric but just love the sound of an acoustic and did not have bundles of money to spend on one. If I could do it over I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Solid spruce top and birch back and sides. The thing I like the most is the ebony fretboard. Gold tuners and black binding are very pleasing on the eyes. The back and sides are very light colored for birch giving the guitar an exotic look. This guitar is crafted in Canada from premium woods. It came with a sturdy hardshell case with the logo stenciled on the side.

Sound : 10
I play all kinds of music and this guitar is very versatile to play them all. The sound rivals all the high end guitars on the market. I was planning on purchasing a Taylor when I heard about Garrison. I am glad I was patient. This guitar sounds so full it is amazing. I owned an all-solid Martiin for years and it never sounded this good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action from the factory was a little high. I had a set-up done and the action is awesome. The fit and finish on this guitar is superb. All the hardware is solid and the wood quality is flawless. I can't find any flaws anywhere on this quality constructed guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Most solid guitar I have ever picked up! The active bracing ties the guitar together into a solid unit. The finish seems to be excellent, no visible flaws. The strap buttons are large and solid. This will be my only gig instrument.

Customer Support : 10
Comes with a 5 year factory warranty. The company was very responsive to inquiries before I purchased. Others I have contacted have been very satisfied with warranty response.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing a variety of music for several years and this is the best guitar I have run across yet. I own a Seagull, Martin, and Gretsch. They sound great, however, they have been replaced in performances by the Garrison. I think my favorit thing about this guitar is its rich, full tone. Most are bright or full, this guitar is both. Everyone I play around is amazed at the sound. I am totally convinced that thereis no better buy in guitars!!
