This is a 2006 cutaway electric classical that is all solid woods--cedar top and mahogany back. It's thinner than the a standard classical and, so, does not project quite as well. The tuners are unique--very beautiful, heavier gauge sides, tune easily and stay in tune. The neck has a 3 piece skunk stripe, dark, white, dark--very well done. The neck has the smoothest finish of any guitar I've picked up. Ebony bridge and fretboard. It also comes with B-band electronics that are really great.
Sound

The sound was a problem when I first got it--too soft, plus I didn't like the G string--sounded like a rubber band. I tried many brands of strings and ended up using La Bella 820 Red, medium tension. These really bring out the sound and project nicely. I love the sound now. It is designed to be an electric, however, so if you want more projection, get a full bodied instrument. The balance is great. The La Bella strings took care of the G string problem mentioned above. I have two other guitars costing much more. The sound is comparable to them, and only slightly softer.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The setup from the factory was great--very low. However, I changed it because I don't like using super high tension strings. Using high tension they rattled slightly. By changing the saddle I can use medium tension with great results. The finish is spectacular. Giannini knows how to make a work of art in a guitar: great joints, book-matching combined with a high gloss finish make a spectacular looking instrument.

I've been playing steadily for about 57 years. and own several other guitars--a Giannini GWNC 5 (Savio), a Jose Yacopi, and an Amezcua. Steel strings I own a Hopf (model unknown), a Gibson J-30, and a Hernandis grade 1. If this particualar guitar were stolen, I would not buy another because I have enough w/o it. When i compare it with the Cordoba equivelant model, I definitely prefer this one. The rosette is real and not a decal, it's handmade and lovingly put together. I love the fact that it's a classical and came with strap buttons, for most of my playing is done standing.
