Features : 5
Smallish classical style body. Made in Brazil. No other features , accessories or endearing qualities. 19 (yellow/gold metal)frets, 12 frets at the body. Slotted headstock with some kind of veneer laminated on the front side. Typical cheap open gear tuners with plastic knobs. Plastic nut and saddle. Back (book matched), sides and neck appear to be mahagony, possibly laminated. Two piece top might be cedar...can't tell for sure. No clue what the fret board is made from.

Sound : 7
Adequate volume, evenly balanced from string to string. Mellow sound, nice for classical, bossa nova, general strumming and single note phrasing. No buzzing, even when stummed aggressively. Has a Willie Nelson quality to the tone. I'm actually amazed at how well this sounds. It pleases me whenever I pick it up and play it. It stays in tune and the intonation is nuts on.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
Action is higher than I'd like. Thick chunky round neck that is just straight enough to get the job done. Fret board is as wide as an aircraft carrier. Poor quality finish that is showing a lot of wear and tear. Inlaid mosaic rosette. A dollop of lacquer is caked on the inside edge of the sound hole. Based on the materials and workmanship, it's hard to believe that this guitar sounds as good as it does.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The top is gouged. There is an ever so slight separation between the neck and the fret board between the 9th and 11th frets. I doubt it ever saw the inside of a case or a gig bag. It is dependable and still playable. If it hasn't fallen apart by now, I'm guessing that it will outlast me.

Customer Support : 10
Given to me as a going away present by my co-workers. They signed the back for me when I got my ass fired. Very theraputic.

Overall Rating : 10
Playing 37 years. I have several excellent guitars and several cheap stringed instruments. Amps and effects too. I play this guitar about 5 hours a week. It was a gift from a fellow player so I'll always have a special attachment to it. I wish it had a case, transducer and new strings. When I find work, maybe I'll fix it up...maybe not.
