This guitar was a Gibson guitar of the week in early '08, afaik.
It's a cherry SG with the small pickguard, dot inlays, neck binding, and P-90s. Supposedly it has a 60's neck profile.
The p-90's do not hum cancel in the middle position.

Whelp...it's different than what I'm used to. Been playing strats for 20 odd years and that's sorta the sound in my head. This ain't that.
I bought this guitar for the more "rawk" band I'm in. I've always dug p-90s for that raw punchy rock tone. I sorta found this guitar by accident and bought it online sight unseen. Thought it looked badass, knew I wanted p90's, there ya have it.
It's taken me a while to get used to it...I've had it about 3 months and I'm just now starting to get it dialed in where I like.
I kinda think of a strat as having a lot of presence and "snap". This thing has a lot of midrange and "whomp". At first I was thinking this isn't that way a guitar is supposed to sound and I was a bit disappointed, but I think that was just my stratty preconceptions. Now I have it dialed in, have gigged with it a few times and have gotten some nice feedback from non-guitar playing folks. I'm hearing I'm sounding more commercial and polished, for whatever that's worth.
It sounds like a badass p90 guitar.

I bought this used and the setup was decent. I made a few adjustments and am loving the way it plays and feels.
Finish is very good. The frets are very well set up....not sure if this was one of the plekked guitars or not, but I'm VERY happy with the fretboard feel.
A volume knob stickers has come off, and the finish under the stop bar posts has cracked. Looked like the last guy screwed them in too tight and they damaged the finish. I think...
Headstock looks awesome, finish is awesome, stays in tune pretty well.

The finish is a thin nitro and does wear. I don't see this as a negative.
I've been keeping it in it's case being paranoid about the gibson headstock issue.

I bought this thinking it would fill a niche. I assumed I'd continue to be a fender guy, and I could bust this out in certain heavier situations.
I have very quickly bonded with it. I had a little trouble getting the sound I wanted out of it, but I worked though it because this is the nicest playing guitar I've ever owned. The minute I strapped it on it felt like an old friend.
I was hesitant about it being neck heavy, but a big suede strap fixes that. I was worried about Gibson QC, but it's almost perfect. I had middling expectations, but I absolutely love it. My hero's (verlaine, lloyd) play strats, but I guess after 20 years I've realized I'm a Gibson guy.
I've been playing off and on since I was 12, I'm 40 now. My main guitar up until this point was a modded EJ strat. There's a AmSe tele here, and I've had other strats, an EBMM Albert Lee, Epi Casino, SG STD, Ricks, Ibanez Lee Ritenour, Jazzmasters (thinskin included), Starfield, and other stuff. I mostly play through an AC30 these days, but also have a Marshall DSL50, Orange AD30, '63 Fender Vibroverb RI and have owned a Top Hat Club and King Royale, a Dr. Z Maz 18, AC15, Allen Old Flame and other stuff.
If this were stolen I'd get another asap.

Great sound out of the box, great set up and great growl from the stock P-90'S. Great for blues and classic rock, rich full and fat tones. I have run it through all my amps, Matchless Lighting 15, 1964 Vox AC30 6/TB, 1967 Fender Super Reverb and the Orange Tiny Terror, sound amazing. For effects I mostly use a Fulltone OCD and Phase 90 and a Vox Wah.

I have been playing for 20 years, I was looking for a US made guitar with P-90's that would not break the bank. I have several Custom Shops Fenders and Gibsons, along with custom made guitars by Harrleson and Chapin, this guitar fits nicely with all of them...I am very happy with this guitar, it is everything and more that I expected...Highly recomended!
