Features : 10
2008 Gibson Custom Shop Limited Run Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul Custom VOS (Vintage Original Spec). It has a carved mahogany top, a solid, lightweight mahogany back, and multi-ply white/black binding on top and back. The finish is ebony finish and the hardware gold. The bridge is ABR-1. They come with either a Bigsby or lightweight stopbar tailpiece.

The neck is one-piece mahogany, and the fretboard is ebony with 22 frets. The inlays are pearl block, and the binding is single-ply of white. The neck profile is a "60s" shape and size. The scale is 24-3/4", and the nut width is 1-11/16" with a holly headstock veneer.

The guitar comes with 3 "Jimmy Page custom BurstBucker humbuckers". You can only get these pickups on a Gibson Custom Shop Jimmy Page Les Paul Custom VOS (Vintage Original Spec). 2 volume pots and 2 tone pots but the bridge tone pot is a push/pull version that allows one to split the coils of the bridge humbucker into a single-coil. The guitars most unique feature is the "Jimmy Page custom 6-way switch" which in use with the coil-splitter allows for 11 unique and amazing sounds.

According to Gibson, they made only 429 Bigsby versions (MSRP $5,999), only 71 lightweight stopbar tailpiece versions (MSRP $5,999) and only 25 that were played and signed by Jimmy Page himself (MSRP approx. $15,000).

This review is of the VOS (Vintage Original Spec) lightweight stopbar tailpiece version.

Sound : 10
Absolutely AMAZING!!! This is by far the finest Les Paul I have ever played. The tone will give you chills. With the 11 different unique tonal possibilities on board this guitar can dial in many phenomenal sounds. You can get real fat tones and real cutting tones. Great tonal complexity.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is very low but with no buzzing. This guitar is flawless.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I suspect that the 2008 Gibson Custom Shop Limited Run Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul Custom VOS (Vintage Original Spec) will easily withstand live playing and certainly excel in every category.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I do not know and I hope I do not have to.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for over 30 years and own many fine guitars but the 2008 Gibson Custom Shop Limited Run Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul Custom VOS(Vintage Original Spec) is just the true definition of a keeper. The lightweight stopbar tailpiece version is much more rare than the Bigsby version.
