I haven't yet bought the Sheryl Crowe model but I plan on buying one! I'm not too fund of the tuners but to get the "PERFECT" guitar you would have to get it custom built to your specs, which would cost way too much money! I am a Gibson lover cuz they do stand behind their products... I know this for a fact! I bought a Gibson Hummingbird Artist model and months later found a flaw where the neck joined the body a very small(about the size of a pin tip) piece of wood was chipped underneath the finish, I emailed Gibson & they ask to see the instrument. So I sent it to them & they replaced it... The next guitar they sent me had a big piece of wood that had chipped off during installing the pickup, saw dust was all over the guitar & they forgot to put the binding on the tail piece.... So at 9:00 pm I called their toll free number & they told me send it back in to them! So I did & 2 weeks later I got a perfect Gibson guitar! Now u may be thinking I wouldn't deal with them but if a company will stand behind a product that well, then u need to stick with them!

With that being said... I bought a Martin D-28! The bridge wasn't glued tightly & I had that fixed myself! Then the neck come loose from the body & you could see light underneath the heel of the neck. So I contacted Martin but they didn't want me to send the guitar in for review of craftsmenship... But instead told me to see a local repairman! He took one look at the guitar & called Martin told them the guitar needed to be replaced but they refused! He fixed the problem but Martin lost a customer here.....

It's a Dove or a Hummingbird, without the fancy American "Bird" stuff. Beautiful guitar, all solid woods. Basicly a 1962 Country & Western Reissue. Tuners are sort of Kluson reissue made in China or Korea. I replaced them immediatly with Grovers Vintage. Volume knob in the sound hole fell off the first time I touched it. Workmanship is mediocre: rough fingerboard, did they sand it in the last step with a 60 grid?, Action is high but acceptable, overall finish is OK, but not more than that.

Sound : 10
Either through 2 Neumann KM184 mics or through the standard Fishman pickup, this guitar sounds superior. Even better than my Martin HD28. Even better than, and its hard to admit, my 1969 D55 Guild. Bright trebles, defined midtones, deep basses, everything is there.
And...this guitar has a great parfum, the beautiful smell of a spruce, mahogany... (Maybe Sheryl touched it). Beautiful woods.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Poor setup, action way to high, but I guess acceptable for every player.
High quality woods, great sound, good playability but nothing compared with a Custom Shop finish. Those tuners are a disgrace! Not suitable for a high end Gibson. Tuners on my son's 200$ Epiphone Hummingbird (Korea) are 2000% better. Seems like a rush job.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I will use this Gibson only for studio recordings. Seems to fragile to me to withstand live gig abuse.

I didn't want to sound negative about this beautiful Gibson. This is indeed a very superior acoustic dreadnaught. Minor, but irritating issues as tuners and volumeknobs make me nervous seeing the price I paid. This guitar, next to my HD28 Martin & D55 Guild, is definitely a keeper.

I have a 2004 Montana made Shery Crow. This is made after her favorite guitar a 62 CW. This guitar has belly up Indian rosewood bridge and cherry mahogony back and sides and solid sitka spruce top. It also features a fishman active transducer and Nickel Gotoh w/ White oval buttons. This is a part of the Hummingbird family and the easiest player in this group!

Sound : 10
Has a deep clear bass and singing highs! The crow will chearp over sound hole if desired! Fishman is plenty hot to give you a deep rich sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is great from factory. Set up to specs from Sheryl...This is a players Guitar!

Reliability/Durability : 10
A solid Hummingbird Montana Family guitar. This guitar will stand by itself.

Based on a 1962 dreadnought "Country Western" this guitar is blast into the past. I didn't want to buy it. I went to the store three times looking for a rosewood guitar and each time I ended up playing this very slightly used 2003 Crow model demo. I didn't need it and I didn't want to buy another mahogany guitar...but I had to. I could not resist it. I'd go home thinking about it and then one night when I dreamed about it I knew I could not let it go. I've lost too many good guitars stalling that way. So I bought it and I love it. It's a great guitar with a great neck. Spruce top with a gloss aged look, cherry colored solid mahogany sides and back. I considered changing the old fashion little white tuners but decided to keep them and after five months I have not regretted it. It has a built in pick up but that's not something I need or use. Rosewood fingerboard with nice parallelogram markers.

Sound : 10
I always like the sound of mahogany and it's a very smooth and full all around sound. Not too much treble and not too much bass. Real smooth. I suppose strings make a difference to most people and I found that the D'Addario EXP26 sound better than the Gibson brand strings to my ears. I still need a rosewood or maple guitar in my collection. I already had a mahogany Taylor 512 and this Gibson makes the Taylor sound very thin. I will be selling the Taylor and looking for another Gibson.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was pretty good but I removed the saddle and shaved a little bit more off to suit my tastes. No buzzing and the action is still very low. The finish did not appear to have any flaws, I would have bought it even if it had a hole in it! It seemed to be of custom shop quality. Sometimes Gibson is a crap shoot, I've seen some lousy higher priced guitars from them.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I will depend on it, it looks like it will hold up quite well... as most guitars do. I only use it indoors for songwriting and home recording.

I would not even try and deal with Gibson. They don't even answer email. If it broke under warranty I would service it on my own locally and pay. I would not ever send a guitar to Gibson, I would not trust them to repair it. They seem cold and uncaring to their dealers and if I didn't like some of their guitars so much I would not put another nickel in their pockets.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing since 1965 and I own many guitars, several Gibsons, Taylor, Ovation, Martin, Fender, PRS, Hofner, Pedulla, Gretsch. If it were stolen I probably could not replace it as this one has a certain "mojo", but I would probably buy another Gibson or Martin. Actually I am looking for a nice Garrison as well. They are great guitars at a small price. My only regret about this Crow model is the body shape. I went shopping for a round shoulder J45R but I fell into this one instead (this time). It had that certain something. So even though I prefer the looks of other models I still love this one. Country players will like this model, it has that nice mid range sound with a little upper bite that works with country music very well. That's probably why they called this the country western model in 1962.

Dark cherry finished mahogony back and sides and mahogony neck. Sitka spruce top and rosewood fretboard. Antique finish with a plain pickguard. Fishman pickup with output jack in rear strap peg, runs on 9-volt battery.

Sound : 10
I played one of these in a store a while ago without knowing what it was. I was first attracted to it by how it looked and how it reminded me of my old 64 J-45 that I no longer had. The sound of this guitar IMO is very balanced. I have never been a dreadnought fan because of what I call boomy bass. The smaller square shouldered hummingbird has always been a favorite because of the smooth tone. Gibson calls it 'velvet' tone. Acoustic guitars are very subjective.
I have only had this guitar two weeks. I have been experimenting with alternate tunings and playing techniques. I like to strum this guitar as oppose to finger pick. (I have a Taylor 614CE that is my primary finge picking guitar). The sound of both guitars is a perfect compliment

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The finish of the guitar is very good. It is a nice looking guitar. I like the color, the size, the feel and it is very light weight. The action is fairly low and the neck feels like my Les Paul. It has a very fast action. Except for the bends, I could do lead solos on this guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Lets face it, its a Gibson. The quality is evident in this guitar.
I feel very confident this guitar will last many years.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Gibson warranty support is very good. I don't forsee a problem.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall this guitar is everything I was looking for. Very happy with my purchase.
