Great Guitar. The Specs are as said before. The Finish is interesting, it isn`t just semi gloss black (feels like sandpaper), to me it seems there are some sparkling metalic pigments if you look very close. The body has a maple centerblock with poplar wings, wich i think is common for this type of Godin, but a rare construction in general.

Sound : 10
The Guitar is perfect for what im doin. It featueres very brilliant and transparent tone, even on Hi Gain settings. The Reaction by using the volume pot is very smooth, blending from clean to crunch and beyond. Hum and noise is no problem, mine is very quiet even at Hi Gain settings. The neck PU is fat, but not to fat, the bridge is bright but not scratchy. It does real nice natural and pinch harmonics, has a tight bottom end and is overall a nasty guitar.

The setup is great, only the Vol-knob was stuck to deep in, lifting it about 1mm let the pot run freely. Intonation ist well adjusted, the finish is very well done, the electrical installation is awesome.
The Guitar seems to stay in tune real good, but i dind`t have a real extended job with it yet.The paintjob in the area of the pickup selektion (where the srews fit in) seems to be a bit weak, has evtl. loosened particles.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I will do my next gigs with it, and keep my ibanez saber as backup, cause i destroy strings constantly.
It has rockinger lockpins, unfortunately without the locks you need.
I think it definitely withstands live playing.

Didn`t need it so far.

Overall Rating : 10
I`m playing it for about 3 weeks now, it does well with every amp i tried (H&K Matrix 100 Combo, Epiphone Valve junior top + 1x12" Marshall cab, Marshall Valvestate 8200 Head with 4x12" Marshall cab, and Boogie F50 Top, EH Metal muff, Dunlop Mr. cry baby, Boss octaver)It seems to be really worth the money, because of the craftmanship and sound of it. A guitar with "Punch".

It has a black graphite finish, rosewood neck 25.5 inch scale, two active EMG 81s, three way switch, volume and tone knobs. The style is double cutaway 'a la strat. The bridge is a solid string through body with very nice looking black hardware. The tuners are non-locking, and seem to be high quality. The guitar came with the standard Godin gig bag, which is the best gig bag that I have ever seen.

When evaluating this guitar in the store I spent at least an hour playing it using different amp settings on the amp provided (Traynor YCV 40). At home I initially used it with my Fender FrontMan 25 practice amp. In both cases the guitar had a nice level of bite, attack, and sustain. After a week or so I plugged the guitar into my practice amp and it was VERY noisy, especially on the gain channel. The noise level is more or less independant of the volume setting. I have since tried it with different amps in different locations, but the noise is still there. I brought it back to where I purchased it and the salesman checked it out and told me that the noise is normal for an active passive guitar. He also tried to sell me a noise limiter at the time. This is my first active pickup guitar, so he could be correct, however, when an active pickup Les Paul is plugged into the same amp there is significantly less noise. I haven't been able to assess how it suits my style as the noise prevents me from using it in a band setting. In the near future I will be looking into a noise limiter. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The truss rod was initially completely loose and had to be adjusted at the store. Otherwise everything on the guitar looks very good other than some minor oxidation on a few screws. I should note that the original strings were also rusty. I also own a Freeway classic, and in my opinion this guitar feels more 'solid'. The pickup selector is noisy, but so is the guitar.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Have not used this guitar enough to evaluate this catagory.

I have only had it looked at by the salesman in the store.

I have been playing since the mid eighties, but only seriously for approx 10 years. My guitar collection includes an American Strat, a Godin Freeway Classic, a Godin Freeway 4 bass, a Babicz Spider Semi-Acoustic (the very one that Randy Bachman played on tour), a Fender DG20S acoustic, and a mid fifties vintage Hofner 457. My stage amp is a traynor YCV 80 2x12, and I use the aformentioned Fender Frontman 25 for practicing. My effects include a Boss V-wah, a Big Muff Pi, and a Boss GT3. I wish I had asked about active pickup noise. This guitar is too noisy...
