Godin G-3000 Strat-Style from the mid 1990's with a beautiful laminated black lacquer finish and matching pickguard. I belive Godin is U.S. made. Volume/Tone and 5-way tone selector switch as well as FOUR pickups that look similar to a Strat. Cannot identify any of the tuning or bridge hardware, but it all looks and feels top quality. I also added a Roland GK-2A synthesizer pickup.

Well, this will be a different type of review. I use this guitar as a Roland GR-9 controller, so I rarely actually hear it as an electric guitar. It does not sound like a Strat, although it does have a thin sound, but less bright and perhaps more suited for blues. There is no pickup noise at all. Personnally, I prefer the sound of my Strat if playing live.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action and accuracy on this Godin was setup PERFECTLY. This guitar was recommended to me as a synth controller because the neck (24-fret) allows for better synth tracking. My Strat also is "Roland Ready" but the strings seem to stretch more making multi-string blocking untrackable for the GR-9. Perhaps the neck is longer. The Godin tracks everthing.

This thing feels like it will last forever. Heavy for its size and very solid feeling. The hardware and electronics are still solid and the finish is still mirror shiny after at least 6 yrs of play....the guitar is still as good as the day it was born.

I've never dealt with the Godin company, because it's never been necessary. Whenever I need maintenance, I have complete faith in Steve's Music in Montreal.

I've been playing a looooooooong time...one-man-band guy with synth and electronic accompaniment. I can play a whole night using only the synth sounds, but this guitar is the perfect tool for that. I would buy another if I ever need a replacement.
