The sound is great I did and A/B against a 82 les Paul and they were so close in sound it was difficult to tell them apart
I tried lots of guitars when I went shoping and I tried a es335 an sg as well as an lot of strats and telecasters... this smoked them all and I was amazed. I play blues / rock / country and this can do it all

Great set up out of the box ...no flaws I can see ...the little knob for the 5 way falls off once in a while so I glued it on ...that all

I did compare it to lots of other models costing 4 times this one and it came up on top
I play it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and it sounds great

22 frett guitar armed with a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, 1/4' quilted maple cap, five way pickup switch, two seymour duncan pickups, single tone/volume, schaller hardware. Canadian made through and through. the 50th anniversary models were not asembled in the USA.
The maple cap has been recessed into the mahogany instead of just laminated onto the body like on gibsons or other brands. This is a very smart idea for that when you drop the guitar there is no chance of delamination. It also makes for a smoother edge.
The finish is damn near flawless, it's not hand rubbed, but their machines do some of the best work ever!
Neck joint is wood on wood bolt on. No glue, paint, or anything else to get into the way of providing deep pounding attack and sustain!!!!
Great setup out of the box, nothings been this good besides my buddies PRS STD 24.
Gets an 8 because...for a Godin it's pretty low on the features. (higher end models get a piezo, synth, or both!) Still has more features than most Gibsons, Fenders, PRS, or Ibanez instruments!

Absolutley killer!!! This guitar takes my Epiphone and Gibson SG's and eats them for breakfest!!! What the SG's lack in boldness, and defition, the LG has in spades.
The neck pickup in full operational mode has plenty of body, and a big warm and fat tone that still retains all of its definition. Never gets muddy!
When coil tapped the neck pickup provides your strat/tele bluesy clean tones. It's perfect for clean tones, or slightly overdriven fun!
The bridge pickup is really hot and spanky! Even in full humbucker operation this pickup really cuts through the mix. In the standard LG it definatly has more meat. I'm betting this added clarity and snap comes from the maple cap.
When tapped the bridge pickup gives you a tele spank style sound.
There is no guitar I have owned or played that has been able to deliever the fullness of tone, or the variety of tones that this guitar can do! It is the perfect blend of Gibson and Fender mechanics!

Action was dead on right out of the bag! After restrining with 12-54 in a Eb tuning the guitar still stayed setup amazingly well. Still had to get the nut cut, and the intonation adjusted for the heavier gauge and tuning, but nothing you woudln't do to other higher priced instruments for the same change.
The dual action truss is also a great feature more guitars should have!!!!
I think that only PRS's have a better setup out of the box!

I've owned Godin's before (LG Hum and LG SP90) and have amazed at their durability. If my previous experiance goes onto this guitar I'm sure it will handel being thrown at a drum kit fairly well!

Godin are a great company to deal with! Trying to track down a 24 frett SP90 in Gold after it's discontinuation, they found ten of them for me across the nation, and numbers/names to get a hold of it! You can't argue that!

Been playing for close to decade, in all styles of music from country to rock, to metal, to emo. This guitar can do it all. I've owned three of Godin's designs, and have always considered them the best guitars I can get my paws on. I've owned a PRS that I sold to my friend because my Godin LG performs way better, and has better sustain! Even my Gretsch's, Gibsons, and Fenders can't compete with the quality of construction on this french canadian masterpiece!
If lost or stolen, I would be extreemly pissed because of the LTD nature of this instrument...but I would definatly run out and try to find a new one! Afterall, I could buy six of these for one PRS!

Assembled in Berlin, New Hampshire from parts handcrafted in La Patrie, Quebec. 22 frets (24 3/4) with a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Comes with a Mahogany body with a "Quilt Maple Leaf Top Finished in a Light Amber Burst". And it is surprisingly light for all of the Mahogany. The neck is very comfortable and perfectly shaped and the body has an ergonomic cut in it that allows the guitar to sit very comfotably against your body.
String-thru body bridge (Schaller Bridge). The strings are really close to the body of the guitar which was totally different than what i was used to (compared to my epiphone) but i prefer them this way.
Also comes with a 5 way switch which i have found very handy for finding specific sounds as i play everything from blues to rock and anything in between. It comes with Seymour Duncan Humbuckers (nickel plated).
Also comes with a deluxe gig bag and a certificate of authenticity.

Since I play a variety of music this guitar works perfect for me. From clean to distorted it performs superbly. I am using a Traynor YVC 50 Blue amp which is all tube and it produces a very warm, solid sound. A very all around electic guitar capable of suiting all your guitar playing needs
