Couple problems/flaws, Read On.

Sound : 8
Great
I love it for what i use it for.
With anyguitar, some hate it, some love it. Me and my old guitarest love godins, Their a great guitar for a great price.
I have played Metal, hardcore, blues, rock, jazz and every slide country on this. VERY DIVERSE.

Amp(s):
Line 6 Spider III HD75 Half Stack
Run it through a little orange micro crush around the computor

Effects:
Dot On Shaft Delay
Electro-Harmonix Small Clone Chorus
Dot On Shaft EQ Pedal
Boss DS-1 Distortion, for a VERY mild distortion(when i feel it)
Boss TU-2 Tuner
(connected to amp)
Line 6 FBV express Channel Swithcher Wah/Volume

Pot scratch
when i move the volume knob around 8-10 it does have a bit of a scratchy noise. Less on the Tone Knob.
probably do a Pot Change soon( i dont fiddle with it that often, i have a volume pedal)

Pickups are good, no problems, good sound. might change them for some used Teslas a local store is selling, see have they work.
not an urgent switch, i have no problmes with the stock pickups.

Toggle swithc is fine, does what it is supposed to.

Cut out starts at the 21st fret. i like that alot, easy to reach the higher frets.

Give it an Eight. It was my Second Guitar. Obviously there are better guitars(Gibson Fender etc) But for a guitar under $1000 Its Great. Definatly Recommend it

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It was Used when i bought it.
a few nicks, in the finish(wood)
Belt rash and 2 nicks on the side of the neck/head(where it sits on a stand)

Pickups were set Great. I have moved them around, but only to move them back where they were.

The Machine Heads.
I dont like that they are plastic. The only flaw is that the could break.
One of them already has, but they are cheap to replace( a dollar or 2)
if more break, i may replace them. Not Too big of a deal though.

Bolt in neck is fine, im not a a big stiff with the neck.

no prolems with any other hardwhere.

Stays in tune fine
Im using SIT lights/extra lights on her.

Changed the strap holders so i could have strap locks.
It was used, so im not 100% sure is the previous owner messed around with the settings, but the settings i got it with were fine.

Truss Rod adjustable at the Top.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Played live with this guitar a few times, worked fine, looks nice, sounds nice:)

As stated earlier, the tuners may break soon, they are platic. one has already broke, probably replace them in the next year or so. Not urgent.

Finish is great. a few scratches from a button on my pants/belt. Happens to all guitars.

Strap buttons are great! dont have to tighten them often, maybe ounce or twice in the 2 or 3 years ive had this guitar. bought it used with strap lock buttons on it. I dont think they are standard. But you never know!

already expressed the issue with the Pots. i will preobably upgrade them soon.

I can depend on it, its a solid guitar. I love it:)

I think you should always have a backup. But ive gigged with this with no backup. no problems

Stays in tune Great.

Always room for improvment with the tuners and pots.

Customer Support : 10
Used, No warrenty.

Had to get 1 tuner fixed, it broke, their plastic.
Music Pro(barrie) Get the 10 for customer support.

Replaced the tuner, no charge.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for 4 years, Im 14. But i feel i know my fair share about gear. If sat at the computor those 4 years researching guitars.
i also own a Squier Strat and a fender american standard Telecaster.

If i misplaced it i probably wouldnt buy another one. Only because i got a great deal on it, and for 600-700$ i could get a Fender Thineline 69 reissue Telecaster. and i love them!

Favorite feature is either the finish, the Bridge or the design.
Dislike the plastic tuners, i just dont want to run into a problem when it counts.

I compared it do a low end PRS single cut
This guitar just fit.
I dont know what it is, but it feels like home when i play it!:)

i wish it had 2 volume and 2 tone, and 2 togle switches. The standard one and one 3 way switch, to do the on off effect(tom morello uses it alot)

I give it an 8 because its obviously not the best guitar and their are a few flaws.
Overall Great Buy, if you can get it cheaper, its a better buy.
I may Mod one and put it in later.

Its a great guitar. Try it out, you will know if you love it or hate it.

A Godin LGHB with two humbuckrs, body in mahogany, 5 way selector, made in Canada /Us.

Sound : 9
The sound is good for many kinds of music: blues, rock, pop. The pickup's are great for a guitar of this price, and sound very well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
Well, here's the big problem. My guitar came with a serious problem of intonation, especially in the G string at the second and third fret. And I can't use it on a gig because the guitar can't stay tunned more than 5 minutes. At home this can be resolved, but on a gig that's really problematic. The guitar doesn't have finish flaws. Godin company work very well on their products. It's a guitar manufactured on Canada and US.

Reliability/Durability : 3
As I said before, I can't use it on a gig, and I can't depend on it

Customer Support : 1
The really problem is here. It's sad to see a company that create good guitars at a great price, but has a so bad customer support. I waited months (six) to receive a new guitar neck, without any kind of explanations. This kind of behaviours just destroys any confidance that you have on a guitar company. I will not buy any other Godin, because of this behaviour.

Overall Rating : 5
It's a pity to rate so low this guitar. Is well manufactured, as great materials, is a US/Canada guitar, great price, good electronics, but a really bad customer support. If your guitar as no problem, well, you're lucky; if not, it's your hell.

coil split is very nice it has everything i want and nothing else (ie 13pin whatever output)

Sound : 6
it sounds fairly good on 2 and 4, but the thing is that the guitar is just too dark and boomy. i play mostly jazz and no matter what amp i play through it sounds too boomy without enough chord deffenition. i'm planing on putting better pick ups on it and see how that goes because the wood is great and acoustically it sounds good, so the p/u have to be the weak part

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
a 2 might not be fair, but i was very angry with this guitar at first. i was at the naval school of music at little creek naval base when i purchased this guitar from musician's friend and had no way to get it set up for a long time. the action was WAY too high, i lowered it but i couldnt get it to play right with my limited guitar fixing skills...when i got back home i sent it too my local guitar tech and it wound up costing me $180 to get set up. the nut was terrible so a new one had to be made to accomadate the lower action.

Reliability/Durability : 9
very, very good construction besides the nut, i am very impressed with the quailty of constrution in this guitar. the only execption being the p/u selector knob that was lost forever because it would always fall off, whatever not a big deal. the guitar feels amazing and soild and the neck size and shape are perfect

Customer Support : No Opinion
no clue...shouldve checked the warranty with the nut issue

Overall Rating : 7
very good guitar that could be great if it wasnt for some issues, mine might be a lemon though because ive heard nothing but good things about this guitar.

Features : 9
Solid mahogany body, dual humbuckers, passive, with a five way selector. Mahogany neck, and I believe a rosewood fretboard. Single tone nob, volume nob. Great tuners, string through body, with a kind of Les Paul look for the body shape. Single cutaway. Transparent finish, though available in many styles.

Sound : 10
I love this guitar. With the five way pickup selector I can have a really wide range of sounds. I've used it in everything from a metal band to a church choir. I use it mainly with a traynor valve 40 and a Tubeworks real tube overdrive and this thing really makes them sing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Nearly flawless. Intonation has held up amazingly and the action is near perfect for me. See durability to read about my minor issues.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have had two issues with this. The gig bag it came with doesn't fit it just right and the strap button dug a hole in the bottom of the bag over time, so it would hit the floor when I set the bag down, rather than the rubber pad. This made the button go loose, but that was easy enough to fix.

Only other issue was a volume pot that didn't hold up, replaced under warranty.

Customer Support : 10
Warranty has covered all of my problems in store. I have never had to deal with the company directly.

Overall Rating : 10
For the price there is nothing better that I have seen. Sounds amazing, looks amazing, and IS Canadian made. They do assemble some in the US, but the model I got was made in Canada.

24 3\4 scale, wide fat mahogany neck (1 piece), two pieces mahogany body, satin finish on both.
Dual chrome humbucker, one volume, one tone, and a five-way switch.
This one has 22 frets, to make sure that the neck pu is in that sweet spot (but i know that there are 24 frets LG Hum out there (first few made).
The tuners do their job very well, i rarely have to tune (but i can't keep from checking anyway!)

Sound : 9
That guitar was designed for the blues\rock players out there. It does its LP thingvery well. Jazz players will also appreciate it's clean tone (especially position 2 and 4)

Would not recommend it for metal players, although with EMG's, i'm sure it would work miracles

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This thing is at least as easy to play as its LP counterpart.
The action was perfect, the neck is fat and wide with rolled edge. Feels very good!

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've had this guitar for 3 years now and everything is holding up perfectly. The only thing that did change was that the chrome covers on the pickups got "colored", just like when you heat up something that is chromed.
I guess my playing must be pretty hot (Hahaha!...haha!...ha..euh, hum! well...)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had any problems with it but i know from what the store owner said that nothing would ever go wrong with the service. He said that they make it a point of honor to make sure every customer is happy!

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 15 years and i just love this guitar!
And with the satin finish on the neck and body, you can really appreciate the beauty of the wood.

The only difference between this thing and a LP is the later has all that nostalgia thing to it (and i do understand that! I like them too!). But i cannot, after playing this Godin for a few years now, justify pulling out more money for a LP. Close your eyes and just listen...feel... But if you still need the big name, bless your heart! Buy what satisfy you, but don't try telling me it's any better because it is not.

Sorry just wanted to clarify something for Buck the Canuck. This Guitar was assembled in the "USA" from "Canadian" parts. "Canada" and the "USA" are both in North "America". This guitar is an "American" Built guitar made from two different "American" factories owned by the Lasido company of Canada. Canada and the USA have a reputation for building outstanding guitars. Sometimes we all need a geography lesson.

Sorry but I just had to correct Sam below this review. Godin guitars necks and bodies are manufactured in Canada and then sent to america for assembly. Call me nit-picky but I just wanted to point that out.

Mahogany body and neck. Godin tuners and humbucking pickups. (The product description on their website says that they are "Godin" pickups. They sound like Duncans to me; I'm guessing that they were patterned after them. I'm still paying it off, and I see that it is supposed to come with a gig bag. I'll have to inquire about that.

It has a five way switch to cut coils in the 2 and 4 position. More on that later.

Sound : 9
It does humbucking best. The front and back are nicely ballanced. Not too much output, but it warms nicely when it's cranked. In the two and four positions, the coils are cut. It's not a fender sound, rather a thinner humbucker sound. It kind of reminds me of my T-60. The sound is thinner, but there's no mistaking it for a single coil pickup. Still, it adds some versatility to an already quality instrument.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Very simple satin finish. The wood is the payoff. You can get lost in the grain.

The neck is chunkier than expected, though it's not uncomfortable. Mine was set up beautifully; it was originally a salesman's model.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I don't see why this shouldn't hold up well. It's a pretty simple design. It's still new, so the jury is still out.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Hope that I don't have to deal with them.

Kathy at Bender is great.

Overall Rating : 9
The guitar feels great, looks good and sounds better. All this from an American made guitar? I didn't think that it was possible.

Dual humbucker, 5 way pick-up selector, 22 frets, rosewood fretboard, Godin tuners, Godin pickups. The store guy claimed the pick-ups were Seymour Duncan 59's, though there's no marking. (The soapbars on the Godin P-90 version of this guitar are clearly marked as Seymour Duncan's). Does Godin have an actual pick-up manufacuring facility? Beats me. GREAT sounding pickups, however. Comes from the manufacturer with 10-46 strings. Comes with a gig bag, the best I've ever seen. I thought the previous reviewer was a tad harsh on the subject. If one priced a Parker 38, just to use an example, the gig bag is an extra $60, and not as well made as this one. Volume and tone knobs, one of each. Might have been nice to have a volume knob for each pick-up, ala the Yamaha AES 620 (same ballpark price point.)

Sound : 10
Wanted a humbucker equipped guitar for recording. Saw various posts around the web about this one--went to a dealer 30 minutes away and bought it immediately. This is a great sounding instrument, the voice clear and distinct in all 5 settings. Beautifully balanced too--the higher strings don't get lost when doing the jangle/kerang thing. The 10's offer a nice grind, as well, on the low end. I play blues, country, Who-ish pop, and am also a working composer of music for TV--so I need to cover a lot of bases. This compliments the other instruments I own and use. (Though I'm using this more and more.)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Beautifully set up with no flaws.Very good looking instrument--a deep red cherry finish, with grain showing through--looks expensive. Volume pot scratchy (see below)

Reliability/Durability : 8
Everything ok here, save the volume knob--noisy and scratchy at the top of it's play. Will try switch cleaner to see if that fixes it. Also the volume knob response is odd to me--when you roll down in an attempt to clean up sound a bit, there's a very small window before the volume disappears completely. Wish this were different. Not a deal breaker, but I may get ambitious and change the pot.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Godin has a good reputation, but I haven't had to deal with them. Will e-mail them with the burning question of whether or not the pick ups are truly Duncans, and see how quickly they respond.

Overall Rating : 10
Have been playing, God help me, 40 years. Currently own a Brian Moore (for use with a Roland VG-88) a Burns Brian May (only buy guitars named after guys named Brian, I always say) and a Parker P-38 nitefly. These all offer different sounds/colors for the various recording I do. But since buying the Godin, it's the one I turn to first. I wanted a Gibson clone, and it'll do that, but it also does a tele and a strat. I would absolutely replace it if went walking. Have owned Gibsons--Es 330 and a Les Paul, in the course of my incredibly stupid musical career, and this is every bit as good. Considering the price, an absolutely exceptional instrument.
