I play a variety of styles from fingerstyle jazz, to old school metal and to be honest I think that this does an outstanding job with the metal and a respectable job with jazz and blues. The tone is surprisingly warm. Sometimes I will turn off the active pickup to mellow it out and it sounds great. I want to give it a higher rating but it is limited by design so I can't go higher than an 8.

This is where this instrument really is exceptional. It played great from the start with the action at a low/medium setting. Intonation was spot on. I did set it up myself eventually but that was to fit my personal preferences. As fast as any neck as I have ever played (and I have tried most everything). I can play it for hours and it feels comfortable.
The pickup was at the proper height for my liking. I haven't touched it at all.
The finish is flawless (I love the matt grey). Everything was really well put together, solid from top to bottom. All the hardware works perfectly, stays in tune well.

I haven't done any playing live with it yet but I am sure that I will. There is nothing to indicate that it can't stand up to gigging. It's pretty solid.

I have been playing for about 24 years and have owned a number of guitars and basses over the years. Currently I have a Yamaha Motion BIII (one of the most underrated instuments of all time in my opinion), a Yamaha Pacifica, and a La Patrie classical. Because I also play bass and classical guitar the scale of this neck is very comfortable to me as it seems to have a little more room than a Fender scaled nack. That is my preference but it may not be for everybody.
This guitar cost me about $450 and I have to say that for the money it is in a class all its own. When I bought it I was looking for a guitar that felt great in my hands and this one suits me perfectly. To get something with equivalent feel would have cost AT LEAST double. Other guitars in the same price range with more features felt like toys by comparison. This one is the real deal. If this guitar was stolen I would probably not get this particular model but I would definitely replace it with another Godin with the same scale neck and more features.
This guitar is perfect for a beginner as, unlike others in the price range, they won't outgrow it as they improve. It is simple, solid, sounds good and makes playing a pleasure. It's tough to put it down!
