Where do I start! I've been playing strats for the past 15 years (I mostly play blues and metal) and letme tell ya... soundwise, nothing to say except maybe that the single coils lack a bit of clarity. Other than that this axe is perfercto!

Fast action neck, easy string bending. The finish is flawless throughout! Satin-anodized saddles really give it a much richerlook! The ergocut technique that godin uses gives the neck that ''broken-in'' feel, pretty cool!

Took it to one my band's gig for the first time... again, nada!nothing to say! I gave it hell for 2 full hours and it gave me heaven!!! Totally dependable didn't use my back-up at all.

Never had to call them. I wrote once to know a bit more about that lacewood finish and they wrote back in 24 hours! Turns out that they made 900 copies of this one so if you find one, grab it! They're disctinctively recognizable by the ''lace'' finish on top.The staff there are pretty cool and give accurate answers to your questions.

Ive been playing guitar for the past 15 years and I own many other guitars like a strat (mexican) a peavey raptor (back-up on stage) wich sounds really cool for the price. I play through peavey amps and a digitech RP80 pedal. I really love that guitar and if it would be stollen or lost i'd probably get myself another SD because the thing is so versatile. Compared to other brands i've tried throughout the years only my SD and my Raptor stand out of the crowd. I don't know, it's that ''feeling'' you get when you play and you know that this is ''the one''... Music is a universal language that speaks through your instrument and knows no boudaries!! Keep on pickin'!

Woods from Canada, assembled in the USA, 22 fret solid body electric guitar. Cherrywood body, rock maple short scale neck, rosewood fingerboard Godin designed hand wound pickups humbucker at bridge, 2 single coils, mid and neck. Telecaster style body, only contoured. Vibrato bridge.
Sound
:9
Rich, dark sound on the humbucker with some crunch. Single coils are a little weak and its hard to distiguish any real tonal differences between the 2/3/4/5 pickup switch position. Humbucker sounds alot like an SG, Not quite as fat or gummy as a Les Paul.

I have to tell ya, never in a million years did I expect so much guitar for so little money (-UNDER- $300). I was in the market for a Fender and I was sold quickly on this guitar. An American (assembled) guitar with the quality of a custom shop Fender (no kidding!) for UNDER $300!?
Amazingly well setup for such an inexpensive guitar. Smooth, solid pots and 5-way pickup selector switch. Machine heads are solid and smooth with no slippage. Neck is firmly attached to the body. Godin does not put poly finish the neck pocket on the body, so the neck is fit with great precision in the neck pocket. I also like the contour cut where the neck meets the body. A very comfortable, well designed guitar. Finish (black w/slight metal flake) is flawless. The poly finish is not as heavy as other manufacturers (Fender). The body is (very) lightweight and well balanced. The only problem was the intonation from the factory. I did have to set the intonation on the high E and B strings. Other than that, I am VERY impressed!

Haven't had it at a gig, but seems solid enough. In no time though I suspect (due to my hard playing) it'll be as nice and broken in as my Telecaster!

I own a 24 fret godin guitar made in Canada, with a maple 22" neck and fretboard, mounted on a Pearl Black Solid-top, rock maple body. It was built in 2003, and was installed with volume and tone controls, and a 5-way tone selector.
This guitar has great sound, for a relatively cheap price. I got mine for $400 at Pongettti's Musical Instruments in Hamilton, Ontario, and I've been extremely happy with it. I've played for about 6 years, and this is still my first guitar. if you treat it well, it probably would outlast you.

The main attraction for me is probably the sharp, jazzy sound you can make if you fiddle with it, and its versitility and adaptablility with amps and distortion pedals.
Basically, anything sounds good on it.

The only thing that I've noticed is the pickups are pretty sponjy, and they arent set into the guitar well.

I havent had a single problem with it yet. It was built very solidly, and the sound now is still as good as it was when I bought it.

The simple set up is arranged for the maximum flexibility of tone and volume. When new, the fretboard is smoother than any other you could hope to stroke, and is worth while the extra maintenance work to keep it so.
Although many may find the body work gareish, the 'retro' styling is, in my opinion the way guitars' aesthetics should be; naive, stylish and above all, shiny.
Pickup controls are wired for a volume for each P90 and a master tone. This means that a huge variety of tones and styles can be easily created without adjusting EQ settings on your amp.
In short it does little but does it damn well. TAKE NOTE!!
Sound

The P90's sound nice and rich, although don't expect to sound like KoRn. however, you will be able to easily play anything from indie to jazz without any problems. Anyhting within this is easily accessible with a twist of some nobs.
It does exactly what it says on the tin; "cool sound"

My Godin SD was made in 2000 (i guess) in the USA with Canadian parts (hand-made!), it has 24 jumbo frets. The body (solid) is made from silver leaf maple and the fingerboard is also maple. The pickup configuration is two single-coils and one humbucker all made by Godin.
The finish is very beautiful, not simply black, but black pearl (it almost shines). The body style is a mix between a tele and a stratocaster. The bridge is similar to the tremolo bar on a stratocaster. The tuner are Godin made but very sensitive, very easy to tune. It included a Godin gigbag, the tremolo, two allen keys (for string action and fretboard).

I play mainly metal and classical music. I'm using it with a 50 watt Laney and a Boss ME-30 (good-price but not fantastic, the presets are terrible!), my influences are the misfits of metal, the almost unknown guitar players (i don't dig Yngwie Malmsteen, although i play classical music). The guitar fits perfectly with my style of playing (I've been playing guitar since 1990/1991), the sound goes from mellow Bach to harsh Thrash/Death, the clean sounds of the single-coils are PERFECT, but very noisy with distortion (as usual), the humbucker is nice but not the perfect thing, or else it would get a 10. I don't dislike anything, it has such a full sound that it penetrates your soul, try getting this sound with a epiphone or a squier (aproximate price), it's almost impossible, both sound terrible compared to any electric Godin.

The guitar was perfectly setup, and the tech at the store didn't touch a thing, it was all perfect. Later I did some work on the pickups and bridge: high string action and higher pickups, and changed the 009 strings that came with it to 010 strings (it is recomendable that you change them no matter how new they look!). I SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO FIND A FLAW OR A SCRATCH AND NOTHING, THE FINISH IS ASTONISHING FOR SUCH A LOW PRICED GUITAR.
Reliability/Durability

The only critic on durability are the strap buttons, i think they will eventually fall (probably it's from the wood), the rest is perfect like I said earlier, the finish is very thick and hard to wear off. It will withstand live playing for a long time and if you replace the strap buttons you can play w/o a backup, I do! I'm thinking selling all my other guitars and keep this one and buy a Godin Radiator or an LGX! Trust me everything will last if you're a racional player, if you bang it against an amp, it will probably fail, but i don't know ;) Also another important upgrade are the pickups, although the pickups are good there are lots of companies who make pickups who are more adequated to your specific sound and playing (trembucker, screaming demon...)

The guitar came with a warranty card but I don't know how many years it has... Also I live in Portugal and it doesn't seem very racional to send my guitar to the USA or Canada to be repaired!

I play guitar for about 10 years, I also use a BC RICH Mockingbird (poor guitar with lots of flaws on the paint job and all over the place, the floyd-rose is horrible, made in Korea), a Washburn Lyon (my first guitar, lots of sentimental value) and a Fender Stratocaster (USA made used: so much talk about how they sound good, but i think they sounded good in the past, now they SUCK!), all of them are shadowed by this guitar, forget everything, don't pay astronomic prices for guitars who sell based on their "NAME" and try Godin, quality speaks louder!
If it was stolen I would KILL the guy who did it and buy another one.
I tried this guitar and a epiphone SG (i liked how it looked, nothing more), the SG is pure crap, made in korea, terrible finish (the one I tried had bumps on the body!), they both cost the same and i made a an excellent choice.
