canadian made parts assembledin New hampshire, Silver leaf maple body with amoderate flame mple top, 5way selector h/s/h with a lr baggs piezo acoustic bridge. teh electronic are passive for the electric pickups, the bagg unit has a 9 volt batery. The body is les Paul, tele and strat. The bridge has a strat tyle trem but much more accurate and tight. This instrument has outstanding locking tuners with a simple knurled turn post on the top of the guitar not on the back like a sperzel. Slim mahogony neck built for comfort and speed. came with a custom fit hard shell cae.

I am a solo act covering classic rock an blues an i made modifications on thepickups to better suit my style. I usally run it through a huges and kettner tubeman rcoding station, direct into my pa board. i mentioned the mods. i felt because of the mple body, the factory picups were bright and accueate and not very ballsy. i replaced them with a (bridge) duncan trembucker, stock strat single in the middle, and a gibson p-90 that fits in a humbucker cut out. This cobo can sound like almost any of my fvorite guitars with a great quack in the 2nd and 4th position for outstanding strat tone. I will admit i am a tone freak an you probobly dont need to go this far. i also installed a mini toggle switch so i can activate the bridge and neck pickups.

The set up,feel and finish work arse outstanding as on any godin I've ever felt. Top was bookmatched perfect no flaws in craftmanship.
The only thing I Hate is the emblem godin has instaled on the wooden tof and rmoving it would leave two substantial drill holes.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Great gig guitar stays in tune Great finish,Solid locking stylestap buttons, no backup instrument needed.

Customer Support : 10
Great customer support i've spoken to helpful knowledgeale staff members who actually faxed me wiring diagrams.

26 year guitar vet, i've owned almost every style an brand of guitar made.Nothinga out there can touch it for the price. The godin electric 2 voice guitars are highly underated They make great electric guitars, and the baggs unit stands up about 75 percent to a real hollow body acoustic sound through your board. it smokes the parker nightfly and the gibson or epiphone chet atkins. The acoustic sound is better than the parker fly.In some reviews users wish this axe had an eq for the acoustic, I've had solid body acostics with eq's and this is pre set as close as you will ever need it to be. .

Already described by the other reviewers. 2 output connectors one for the H/S/H and one for the Piezo, Wilkingson bridge.

Here is the POINT with this guitar. No swaps of axes due to need of different sounds.
It can do everything from ZZ-top to Mark Knopler.
I use it through a Peavey Delta Blues, sometimes though my vintage Marshall MKII and I am extremly pleased!
The Piezo mic sometimes sounds too crispy, always check when plugging it into the PA (and use fresh battery). The Piezo sounds great through my Peavey Delta. Therefore the guitar deserves a 10!

Nice factory set-up, no modification at all. The neck is really great, made for fast action! The brigde has tendency not too tune back.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As said, this is a quality guitar and it feels too inexpensive for what you are getting! Just a little detail, it is delivered with strap-locks.
I would definitly use it as my mainguitar.

I have been playing for 25 years, from fusion to rock/blues.
Have changed guitars 50 times during the years.
Today I have a LP Studio, Strat Califonia Series and an acoustic Landola and this thing does it all (not really - but very close to)!
The guitar is perfect if you are into different musicstyles,
and for me it is actually the guitar I have been looking for.
As you know it is not easy to find "the Guitar".
I am not too happy with the design, but it is the sound and action that is important to me.
Would replace it get stolen!
This is an outsider that will be recognized very soon.

Assembled in New Hampshire out of Canadian parts. Light Burst quilted flame top. Hum/Single/Hum.
An electric guitar with the ability to sound like an accoustic because of the Piezo bridge deserves a ten for features.

Sound : 9
I play through a Marshall AVT 50. The accoustic mode does ok through my Marshall but it really needs an accoustic amp to sound perfect. If I use headphones it sounds pretty accoustical. This guitar is capable of a very wide range of sound. Not quite a stratocaster sound and not quite a les paul but somewhere in between plus accoustic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was set up nicely from the factory. All I had to do was tune it. All the handiwork looks tip top. Godin really does a nice finish on all their guitars that I have played.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I haven't gigged but I don't foresee any problems arising. I've had it for over a month and had no problems.

Customer Support : 5
Emailed once took them two weeks to reply.

Overall Rating : 9
I would buy again if lost or stollen.

Two voice solid body with strat style wammy bar, and locking tuners. Pickups are Godin H-S-H and LR Baggs Piezo saddles (strat style). Volume and tone for magnetic; volume for piezo. The body is kinda a cross between a strat and tele, nice.

this is why i'm reviewing. I play in a duo with a very critical guy. We play classic rock (think Neil young), country and blues. I put up with it cause he gets the gigs, pays well, and also performs well. We share the lead duties with him playing a Martin through a good preamp and eq and me playing an electric through a processor (Korg AX100G)straight into the PA. We just did a gig Saturday and he just called to say how good the guitart sounded, both electric and piezo. I'm very pleased with this guitar through the AX100G. Can't wait to play a band gig through a n amp.

Nice right out the box.

OK so far.

I've been playing a long time. I also own a 1975 Precision Bass, Johnson J Station, Hughes & Kettner Club Reverb amp, and a cool digital studio. I've owned a bunch of other guitars and processors. I would buy again if lost, or upgrade to a LGX.

This is a Canadian built guitar assembled in the USA. I am not to sure on the materials (type of wood used), but they do lend themselves to a medium to heavy tone. I am guessing mahogany neck and a special Canadian maple body. Good finish, not overdone. I have a black one with a black mirror pickguard. It is set-up with HSH (Godin pickups) and a LR Baggs piezo pickup for an acoustic sound (no EQ). Frets are medium, tuners lock, and yes, there is a whammy bar. You can get the specifics through their website. The one thing I am thinking of adding is a tap switch for both humbuckers.

Sound : 9
I am into rock/blues. This thing does the job well. The LR Baggs piezo pickups are great!!! I have had Seymour Duncans, my favorite being the TB5 and other favs are ones made by Gotoh for my BC Rich Mockingbird. I can't say these blow those guitars away, but the are better than your average stock pickups. There are well put together and not cheapos. The sound is full with plenty of range. The single coil won't hit the highs like my Fender Jap Strat w/ stock USA PUs, but that could be all in the body (heavier woods). There are a full range of attainable choices here. We all like choices right? I may add tap switches to both humbuckers for more Strat sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Quality is job one here. I bought a Yamaha Ty Tabor Signiture Model electric guitar and returned it because of the poor fret feel (rough). The Yamaha was probably sent out too wet (moisture in the wood) and the frets just popped when the wood dried, but it wasn't what I've found in the past from Yamaha (great value and quality). Godin is solid in this area. Very nice.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar was made to play, very solid guitar. It came with buttons that lock onto one of those locking system things. Nice extra touch. Everything indicates a quality product.

Customer Support : 10
They are good. They answer in a timely manner and they do take care of you. My pickguard was irregular in one small area and they sent me one no problem, no cost to me at all.

Overall Rating : 10
I am considering getting another one just for the hell of it. My purchase was that good. Price, quality, service, you can't go wrong even if you can't play. This guitar will give you all the avenues to sound you could ask for. Really a smart practical buy in the guitar market - hands down.

This is my first Godin. Have play LP's for years, but got tired of their lack of overall versatility.Manufactured in Canada and assembled in USA, it has a maple body and a mahogany/rosewood neck/fretboard. Finish is black pearl with a mirrored pickguard. The shape is like a cross between a LP, Strat and Tele. Pick-ups are Godin H/S/H (5 way switch)with a L.R.Baggs piezo whammy bar bridge. It has 2 jacks. 1 is for the electric picups alone. The other is a mix between the piezo and the electric. The piezo has its own level control. The electrics have a master tone and volume control. Tuning keys are of the locking variety with no manufacturer marking. Good quality, though. Came with a nice Levy hardshell case and the normal allen wrenches.

Sound : 9
this guitar suits my playing needs 100%. I find that I have to change between styles of music quickly. It will get a nice fat 'bucker tone without the muddines of some LP style guitars. It will also get that nice Fender "quack" and the L.R.Baggs can do a nice onstage job of faking a flattop. All settings are hum free, even on the single coil. I can achieve all of the tones I need without swapping axes. One fault is that the EQ for the piezo is fixed with no external control. It is a bit bright for my taste. I use an floor EQ on "acoustic" duty.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I am a certified guitar technician and I find that I am very critical of guitars. This one has impressed me. The set up was a tad high for me but it tweaked in easily. Dang it, that was all the tweaking it needed! The finish is flawless and the pickguard really contrast nicely against the black finish. It shows fingerprints easily, so it reuqires a cleanup after every gig. I do 3 a week. A whole lot of rubbin' goin' on. I look at the finish in the cavities to judge quality. The unseen part of this baby is well finished. Smooth sanded and completely painted. It had no problems I could find.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This instrument should stand up to live gigging. The jacks are Switchcraft. The pots are full size. Looked like CTS or Spectrol. All of the hardware is of A-1 quality and should stand up for years. the finish looked like mirror and about 1 mile deep. Shoudln't wear thin. I feel I could depend on this instrument and have no qualms about playing without a back-up. Better take along an extra 9V battery for the piezo eletronics. I've found one will last about 1 month.

Customer Support : 8
Asked a question about setup via email and received a prompt reply. My local dealers (we have 2 here) have had no difficulty with problem resolution from Lasido, the Godin parent company. I think the warranty is either 5 or 10 years. Can't remember. Probably won't matter.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing around 30 years. I currently own a Carvin bolt neck kit guitar and an el cheapo Epihone MIII. I've recently sold off my collection which had a 73 and 94 Les Paul, a Japanese Strat, a Gisbon Victory, a Westone Session II ES-175 clone, and others. If it gets stolen, I'll get another one but it wouldn't be black. Fingerprints! I considered an SG, a Heritage LP style, a PRS, a Parker, and a Washburn Icon. If I could change anything on it I'd have them add an EQ for the piezo. But them it would blow away their top of the line LGX. Bang for the buck this guitar is hard to beat. It will just about cover the whole tonal pallet without denting your shoulder or your wallet. If you are a serious pro, look at one of these. Heck, even if you just jam with your friends it would be a blast.
