Born around 91 in Canada. 22 fret Birdeye maple VERY nice neck. Tele style, 5 pos. switch, volume and tone controls. Original Godin humbucker p/u's. Brown/gold tiger style finish with black sides and back. All gold Godin hardware. thin neck with normal fret spacing.
Awsome case, cut to fit, no bouncing around in the case.

I'm a bass player/ rythm, strummer. I can't play any leads so I know I'm not giving this guitar what it really needs. But when I get cocky in the practice room she can pure put out. It seems the more I push her, the more she pushes back!
I had a Fender Stat that played well but the selector switch is in the way for a strummer. This Tele style is the absolute Bomb for a fast strummer!
The sound is great, I plug it into a Fender Princeton Chorus 75 watt amp. Clear channels she is an angel, distorted channels she's a devil!(in a good way) I can't think of any dislikes, she damned near plays herself!
What kind of sounds does the guitar make? UH? You can't break a string on a bend! I know that!!

I don't know about factory settings. I bought it use for $150.00 from a dumbass who use to work with me. He bought it from a pawnshop along with the fender amp. I got them both for $300.00. He didn't know what he had and neither did I untill after some research. (I kinda feal bad about screwing him so badly!)
I do my own neck and bridge adjustments so I can't complain about any of that.

This thing will out live a cock roach! The hardware is good if you keep it clean as well as the finish, but that's true with anything!
I would trust it for a a gig, but I never have just one! Anything can happen. You always have a backup!

I've been playnig some sort of musical instrument for almost 30 years. This is a solid well playing guitar. If you want slow country strumming or hard hitting metal, she can put out!

I play mostly jazzy bluesy sounding music. This instrument may not be traditionally ideal for these types of sounds but I feel it really ads something. Maybe it is in the wood.
The guitar seems to breathe as you move through the neck from lows to highs.
I got this guitar used for $400!! The previous owner had a armstrong or a dimarzio humbucker in the bridge. I just recently removed it. Sounds alot better.

This guitar is built to last a lifetime.
Although, when I had to rewire the pickup I noticed the wiring was a little weak.

telecaster-style solid body guitar. made in canada in 1995. beautifully flamed maple top- nice birds-eye maple neck with rose wood fingerboard. dot inlays.
medium neck scale- semi-flat d-shape.
two splittable godin humbuckers made by bill lawrence.
3-way toggle switch.
schaller tuners.
string thru body.

the first thing that you notice when playing the guitar unplugged is the very (and i mean very!) long sustain just created by the extraordinary well selected woods.
it's probably the loudest solid body guitar (without amp) that i've ever heared. as robert godin is well known for his wood quality i think this one is definitely a future collector's piece just because of the wood.
the neck is just amazing!
the bill lawrence pickups are also very good. good, but a bit boring.
godin obviously wanted to do absolutely everything right but in the end created a guitar that works with absolutely every kind of music but never stands out.
the volume control has a little extra feature. when turning the volume down the treble gets raised a little. most guitars sound a bit dull when you pull back the volume. this one will keep crystal clear and transparent.
i played funk, alternative and metal with it. it all worked.
i played it with a marshall 1959, a laney gh100l, a crate classic 50 and now with a vox ad100vt and it works. but as said before- it's a bit boring.

i'm playing guitar since 15 years.
i had a westone strat, aria pro, ibanez, gibson lp studio, hoefner
and sold them all. the only one i will keep forever is my godin.
i have played lot's of different styles. from stoner rock to crossover, from pop to funk and everything works well with the tc.
it's just that sometimes you want the fuzzy bite of an sg or the twang of a gretsch to stand out a little.
but i wouldn't recommend to change the pickups as the bil lawrence ones really have a phantastic neutral tone that is incredibly versatile and helpful especcially when you're in the studio.

Telecaster-style guitar built in the nineties in Canada, 2 Godin pickups, 3-way selector, push-pull tone control for sin/hum switching. Simple, solid stuff.
Sound
:

The sound is very good. It's not a Tele twang, notably fuller, but richer too. I use mostly the middle position on the selector, tone control pushed. I'd qualify the sound as efficient: it always finds its way in the mix. There's no special sparkle, mojo, shimmer, whatever music journos call that. Just a beautiful sound.

This guitar was in a poor state when I bought it. However everything was working and still does, there was no congenital flaw. An easy player. I understand the original finish was remarkable, but I can't comment on this.

This is a workingman's tool. It won't fail. The gold hardware begins to wear (hence -1pt), which is not a problem to me. This guitar was made for gigging/recording musicians. No backup guitar? No problem anyway.

I've been playing bass and guitar for 25 years now, and I've owned and tried a lot of instruments. The other guitar I currently own is a Rickenbacker 620 which is another beast altogether. If you want the special jangle of a Gretsch or a Rickenbacker, this guitar is not for you. If you want a dependable instrument, take this simple, no-frills, honest-to-goodness guitar provided you see one around for sale. They were rather cheap given the sound and the quality of the workmanship, that should still be the case.

Telecaster style guitar from Godin. Made in Canada around 1995. Beautilful trans red/pink body. Gold hardware. Dual godin tetrad humbuckers with 3-way switch and push/pull knob (a total of 6 different pickup combinations). Volume and Tone control. Very well balanced guitar. It's light. Simple bridge, easy to tune. Can de-tune if you bend to hard the strings.
The neck has tiny dots inlays. Very sober guitar.

This guitar is quiet. It the humbucker mode, it has enough power to rock and metal, but miss some output level. It the other mode, the sound is an acoustic-like sound, mostly apropriate for jazz or pop, with no distortion. I mostly use my Line6 Pod2 with it.
In any modes, the sound is rich. This guitar is versatile, but doesn't score 10 in the Metal side. The sound is very clean, I have the guitar for about 7 years and the knobs and switches don't make any noise when turning/moving them.

Very good guitar, sounds good but wish it could rock a little more. I love play with it.
If stolen I would certainly re-consider looking at other Godin's new models since the TC is discontinued. Since I'm in Canada, the prices are excellent (no exchange tax).
