1999 Keith Scott Signature. Dynasonic pickups, silvery-gold top, mahogany sides and back, bigsby v, grover tuners (I think). The neck is a bit fatter and flatter than my Setzer sig.

Sounds fantastic! Old set of strings, plugged in at rehearsal, great right away! More lows and highs, less mids than my Setzer sig w/ stock filter'trons. It is noisy like a strat, forgotten what that's like after playing solely gretsch for last five years. Love the finish. It's unusual, a gold top with a lot of silver - the gold hardware is much more gold than the guitar finish. Perhaps it's an acquired taste, but I think it's a total classic look.

Purchased used. Setup only ok at first in theory with neck just slightly too straight (no relief at all). A little string buzz acoustically but none through the amp. It's so easy to play that I'm just leaving it for now. Typical Gretsch stuff - terrible pickup switch, loose strap buttons, nothing I've not dealt with before. Check discussions at www.gretschpages.com for solutions to these kinds of problems. It's worth it! Finish, binding, etc are really great.

Except for the awful pickup selector switch the guitar seems plenty able to be used for regular gigging. I've used my Setzer exclusively for five years, held up great. I think this guitar will get equal time.

A bargain at that price. I wondered about the pickups before I received the guitar, guessing I wouldn't like as much. But, they sound fantastic. I think they actually have more output than my filter'trons (just different) I do like that it has an actual tone control vs. tone switch. This is my second gretsch, first was setzer sig. This guitar just reinforces my love of gretsch. I'm selling a nice strat (which used to be my guitar) to help pay for this and it doesn't hurt too bad. I'm so happy with this guitar and I really love its distinct look too! The only reason I don't give an overall 10 is because no gretsch really seems to be a "value." You pay for it, but it's worth it! ; )

This guitar is basically a Duane Eddy model in different clothes.
The top is a quite beautiful champagne gold and the back and sides are a dark walnut stain like a Country Gent.
It has a deeper neck profile than any other RI Gretsch I've played and the frets are larger also.
It comes in a quality TKL case with Gretsch printed in gold a warranty certificate and a quirky little booklet written by Keith Scott : "The Gretsch Guide To Being A Sideman" (Keith is Byran Adamas Guitarist).
It's funny though, I've never seen Keith Scott playing this guitar !

Well the two Dynasonic pickups produce the classic fifties Gretsch tone.
I mainly play rockabilly, early roll'n'roll and a little jazz and this guitar really fits the bill.
There's alot of bottom end and top end twang and not much in between, quite different to the Filtertron sound.
I play it through a Fender Vibro King or a Vox AC15TBX with a Memory Man analogue delay and it sounds rich and twangy.
It's responds well to the front end of an Overdrive pedal but it's not really suited to heavier styles.

I've owned several Gretsches and I must say they're great straight out of the case, they always need some adjustment to bring them up to their optimum playability.
On mine I've secured the bridge in place with double sided tape, adjusted the pickup poles to balance the tone, lubricated the nut with some graphite grease, swapped the bridge for a tune a matic style (better sustain and intonation) and fitted a set of flatwound 11's (Thomastik or Pyramid are the best).
Now it plays beautifully and stays in tune well (and I use the Bigsby alot).

I gig this guitar regularly and it's holding up just fine.
These new Gretsches are much more solidly built than their Brooklyn forebears although I've had no problems so far, I do worry a little about the crappy pots and switches that Gretsch use.

Although I've read negative reports about them, my experiences have always been very positive.
They've promtly answered every email I've sent them and sent me the new catalogue I requested.
No complaints here.

I,ve been playing over 20 years and this is a great guitar.
Classic tones and looks.
I also own a 57 RI Duo Jet and a couple of Rickenbackers and if I were parted from this guitar I'm not sure I'd buy the exact same model again (not to reflect negatively on the guitar in any way), I might go for a Duane Eddy just for a change or maybe not, I hope I never have to make that decision.
Then again, the gold top on this guitar is stunning and looks fab under stage lights.
I love it !

I have no clue who Keith Scott is. Bought this new 2 years ago-2000 model I guess. Have never seen another one before or since. It has a wierd "love it or hate it" look - gold top (gold toward the green) with walnut stained sides and back and 24K plated hardware - really unique look. It's assembled overseas as are all Gretsches today. 22 fret maple laminate - typical 6120 body - 2 Dynasonic PUs (like the early 50s models) -single coil - master volume, individ. volume, master tone, PU select. Open V Bigsby, floating roller bridge. Ebony fingerboard with the humps. Medium size neck.

I like it specifically for swing and rockabilly. setup - guitar>>>Carl Martin compressor>>>TS10>>>Rexer tape echo>>>Gibson Goldtone or sometimes a vibrolux.. It has that kind of open sound - It's my backup because I'm a P90 fanatic and my first choice is a jumbo Korean ES295 clone with P90s. This Gretsch has a little less bite but is still cool

fast nice action. Better than any old vintage gretsch models (I've played plenty). Came with a nice setup (but with a set of 12s - go figure) I use 10 1/2 s now, Good workmanship overall. REALLY nice Bigsby action. - better than my others. Frets just right. I took off the pickguard (personal playability preference. The original strap pin on the upper bought pulled out within a few months so replaced it with a better one (on the heel where it belongs!)

Have to be willing and able to set intonation with a floating bridge. I'm comfortable with it and have it just right now. Like I said the strap button was poor initially. I've got 2 years use on it and used it at 2 gigs I think. No backup.

I've played way too long (40years) and have a lot of stuff. Overall this is pretty cool. I like the unique look (way different from other Gretsches) Honestly, if lost I wouldn't replace it. I wonder about slapping a couple of white P90s on there...........
